  1. If this is indeed the last nerf before dps get some long long overdue survivability buffs, then the least they could have done was remove the cover requirement for explosive probe. A small QOL change at level 10 or tier 2 in a dps tree. Rather than make them press a button that literally does nothing except trigger an animation first.
  2. Round it goes, snipers interrupt immunity would not be effected. Unless you count the leap/pull interupting a cast but then sorcs and mercs deal with this fine. Snipers already deal with kb interrupt the same way sorcs and mercs do. Snipers kite just fine, roll, legshot, knockback, roll to cover, stuns, area denial. They would kick up a stink if this nerf came their way, and rightly because what possible reason should warriors and pts get an advantage against them. The reason they are excluded from the nerf is they are not an expendable part of the player base. Edit: Also when they finally get round to the real issue which is op healer energy management and probably swing the bat too hard then this stupid change will leave the healers totally screwed trying to regen with diagnostic scan or mix in more hard casts. Edit2 Shorter sentances.
  3. So sorcs and mercs are fair game then? Your position is rubbish and all it does is protect op healers from receiving a long overdue and real nerf while the dps get to be collateral damage
  4. Snipers interrupt immunity is a separate ability that is gained when taking the ac. The reason this nerf does not cross over is there are a lot of snipers and they would throw a huge fit about this. Dps ops though are a tiny minority that can and have been kicked about with relative impunity.
  5. Why is leap/pull immunity intrinsic to sniper play style? They still have interrupt immunity. Why should a warrior/PT have a harder time against a sniper than a dps op? I use cover on my lethality sniper for the same reasons as I do my lethality op with the only difference being that I need interrupt immunity on sos and cull which will remain.
  6. Another thought, if this change has such a negligible effect to dps ops then why doesn't it apply to snipers as well? Is it because snipers have no knockback, root, cc immunity, roll, and would be totally helpless? Its a ham fisted attempt to nerf op healers which if they were going to do it properly would involve removing the ability, replacing it, and adjusting the other abilities that rely on it. That would take time and effort so instead just dump on the tiny numbers of dps ops still struggling on, put out a botch job that is a sideways buff to warrior/PTs.
  7. The assassin stuff: I used to play madness but it is broken because duplicity was moved out of tank specs range, no change there. Deception getting a burst buff again, well I'm not that bothered they spent a long time in the wilderness but it seems random and probably based on bad players metrics. Operative stuff: Jaw dropping nonsense. Buff over power shot damage and leave energy cost the same = buff to healers damage, the only spec with spare energy is medicine. Nerf operative cover to the point of it being an emote. Make sure that a crucial damage ability sab charge must have an emote used before casting. Make absolutely certain that the dps specs which have no instant heals can never hard cast a heal because very occasionally they managed to do this before. Make dps specs more vulnerable to leap and grapple but definitely don't change the energy glut healers have so they can be sure to face tank it. Operatives it wasn't enough to remove a skill to give them one less than the other classes. No it must instead be an anti-skill, a useless annoying button press that you must use before using two other skills. Nerf Operatives.
  8. In a way I am glad they buffed op healer dps, and nerfed op dps survivability it gives me no false hope and makes my decision to shelve my lethality op in 2.4 easier to slowly come to terms with. I do slightly wonder if the combat team actually have a level55 operative though, they can borrow mine if they want I'm not using it.
  9. Darn got me in that bit. My name is Roysten and I am a Forum Defender.
  10. If I do start a small religion from this thread could I use this as sacrament please? Edit: oops I'm meant to be taking this seriously.
  11. So the thread presents a position but is actually changing the position it presents through rhetoric to present an unrelated position that it can dismiss swiftly in an effort to undermine itself. Thus the actual position presented is left untouched and at the same time unknowable. That is so meta that I am slightly tempted to start a small religion devoted to this thread.
  12. Set tone with sarcasm......Follow with Strawman to validate sarcasm.....End with sarcasm fuelled by Strawman. A fine example of what the op was talking about.
  13. Well I certainly feel dismissed from the thread, how dare I point out how rude and insulting people are being. I should just restrict myself to PMs while others carry on posting as they see fit. What is the crucial criteria in posting that makes it immune to scorn? You can call his views douchebaggery, someone else can suggest they are a ****** (guessing its pejorative), but he should not have the temerity to post his view, and I should not point out the rudeness of responses. If only there were some universal code that could be applied equally across the forums.
  14. What was I just saying about an insular over defensive and rude forum community, its like people don't want players to return unless they conform to unqualified love all things swtor.
  15. Yes I did ignore it and it cost me nothing to do so. What do the people taking a pop at it gain apart from some smug self satisfaction. Their own satisfaction with things is reinforced at the expense of someone returning and hoping to enjoy the game again. People who have left the game and want to return don't have to drink the Kool aid and confess their sins before being embraced back into the fold. So what's the point of throwing a load of bile at them?
  16. Well this thread contains some jaw dropping rudeness towards a returning player. These forums are getting dangerously insular and unrepresentative of the social experience in game. I think it is nice that someone is coming back because they want to give the star fighter thing a chance and I hope they enjoy it.
  17. Going head to head with a mara/sent is never going to be easy. One thing though, don't forget stealth scan. Use it aggressively as area denial, all the stealth classes hate having there emergency cd neutered. Also kiteing 5-9m while it limits your attacks it stops a large part of their damage and cripples their energy regen.
  18. 1) A valid arguement, I am glad you took the time to make it. 2) Still say "leet" is just crude and was unnecessary. 3)I agree Lastly I have been following the op's posts sometimes before and sometimes after you but oddly enough you always seem to be in them picking and chewing away at their position.
  19. I did read it. If someone said they were quite new would that make it ok to say they they are a "noob"? Is someone quite elitist fair game to call "leet"? I would say no, these are just cheap labels thrown around to inflame an issue.
  20. They didn't qq about the expertise being taken away from wh gear in 2.0 it was removed afterwards and made the gear function correctly. If you witnessed players qq ing about their wh gear not having expertise recently, and yes I do find this hard to believe, then this just demonstrates how poor the information available to returning players is. Your position is that removing broken expertise from broken gear will make players qq about having their gear mended to work correctly, qq in exactly the same way they didn't in the past when wh gear was mended.
  21. So you have a problem with someone using the solo ranked queue, but you don't have a problem with /ignore not working in arenas the same way it does in flashpoints. When did the "leet" thing enter the discussion? oh I know when you just used it a bit like a careless label used to put a player down. Do you actually have a vaguely relevant point to raise about votekicking before or after the game starts apart from a guess as to a motive that it is being abused despite this relying on 3 randomly matched players agreeing to grief another player?
  22. It helps if you read the op and understand the issue before replying to a thread. Many times I fall into the perilous trap of reflex arguing, the shame and embarrassment can be unbearable. For your own sake don't fall into this terrifying trap.
  23. There is a very clear graphical indication of the bug in action as well as flying text. It is very obvious when it is being exploited.
