  1. ^^^ Also Terentatek, Gundark, and Basilisk War Droid mounts. But mostly a Kell Dragon mount.
  2. The black recolor does look a lot nicer. It looks kind of like Darth Maul's outfit. She's also not using a Cartelsaber anymore, which is good.
  3. Take my advice and just turn off the icons on the dialogue wheel that show you if you'll get light side or dark side points and make decisions based on what you think is best/want to do. Much more fun that way.
  4. Don't get snappish at me. I'm not saying they haven't. I'm saying they can't, as in they should never do that when their income relies on keeping their playerbase happy. Besides, it isn't Bioware's fault. No, this is EA's stinginess at work, not even sparing enough resources to have a dedicated team for bug fixes.
  5. Wow. Lana's been through some s**t.
  6. They can't just stop caring about a bug that affects nearly every player.
  7. Figured as much. Maybe when Ziost is released they'll opt to show the intro cutscene on the fleet, not the ship, so we don't have to look at our companions wearing clown suits.
  8. Zeltrons are their most likely choice after Togruta, to be honest, unless they add that Voss class that most people seem to want.
  9. Out of curiousity, does anyone know if Bioware has a dedicated team to fixing this stuff? I know other MMOs like RuneScape have a small subteam for fixing things like graphical bugs or FPS issues but I haven't heard of one from the SWTOR team.
  10. ...And companion unify color and armor dyes still don't work during cutscenes unless they're following you. This isn't game-breaking (which is probably why it's been ignored for so long), but it is incredibly immersion-breaking to give a companion an outfit that looks really great normally and then have it look completely mismatched and ridiculous during important or serious moments of the story. Players encounter this bug every time they A) Play through their class story, or B) Watch any cutscene involving companions who aren't already following the player (which includes the recently released Shadow of Revan intro cutscene) And again, there have been threads reporting this bug since 2013. So can we finally get some official acknowledgement of the problem besides a mention on the "Known Issues" page?
  11. M1-4X has three stilt legs and twin blasters like Droidekas have but that's really the only similarities between them. This is also meant to be a Tank/DPS companion concurrently, like Treek is a Tank/Healer, while 4X is meant to be only a Tank. The Colicoids manufacturing Droidekas was never mentioned in the movies (actually Droidekas never had their origins explained at all in the movies) but they were said to have been their makers through EU material.
  12. But droids are interesting! I do see your point though about wanting to see new species. Personally I like to see species introduced en masse, like the Rishi and the Massassi were in 3.0. Treek's an exception since she is one of the few Ewoks to have left Endor, but what about relatively common species like Zeltrons? And if Bioware wants to go the route of selling a companion for 1m credits or 1k Cartel Coins again, they'd either have to be another mercenary or become your property - which is a position generally reserved for droids (and Vette). Unless it's a Rakata companion being offered (and even they've started to lose their appeal) I'd prefer to be the owner of a one-of-a-kind, advanced and expensive droid. Besides, it's been a while since we've got a droid companion anyway, and let's face it, the odds of this even being considered before Lana or Theron are really low.
  13. Every Star Wars fan knows the mechanical beast that is the Droideka. These highly effective Colicoid-manufactured assault droids possessed enough firepower to change the tide of battles and force even Jedi to flee or be drowned in a flurry of blaster fire during the Clone Wars. How amazing would it be to have one of these as a companion? With their shields and impressive firepower, they could easily act as both a sturdy tank and a monster damage-dealer. Most importantly, it might even be possible, if not plausible, to have one with minimal-to-no hiccups in lore! Droidekas were manufactured by the Colicoid Creation Nest some time after the creation of B1 Battle Droid (the droids used as an army by the Trade Federation) manufactured by Baktoid Combat Automata before the Invasion of Naboo. Due to their complex and expensive design, Droidekas would normally have been too costly to be used in high numbers, however the Trade Federation were able to negotiate special deal with the Colicoids to receive cheaper prices in exchange for exotic meats; from this deal, they purchased hundreds of Droidekas. It's not impossible to say that the design for Droidekas wasn't original. The Colicoid Creation Nest already existed around the time of The Old Republic; in fact, the weapons received by the player's faction after the events of the Colicoid War Games flashpoint were Colicoid Creation Nest-manufactured. They could have reused or slightly altered an existing design from the Old Republic-era and then mass-produced it to compete with the B1s. So say that the player, being the important and presumably wealthy person they are, was contacted by an unorthodox Colicoid scientist working on an experimental design for an assault droid with massive firepower and personal bubble-shielding technology. The droid would be too expensive for either side to purchase in mass-quantities or in favor of their existing, disposable droid technologies (presumably the same way HK-51's aren't being widely used by either side), but might be a feasible purchase for a rich hero to own as a personal bodyguard. The designs for the droid would then be left alone until their rediscovery some time before the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo thousands of years later. This Droideka companion, as mentioned earlier, would act as both a Tank and a DPS, holding the enemies' attention and dishing out sizeable amounts of damage with its twin automatic blasters. It's affection quest might involve its memories of its maker and give more lore on the Colicoids and the Creation Nest. Being an experimental droid not meant for mass-production, it may have more independence than the Droidekas of the Clone Wars era, perhaps even speaking basic and learning. It may also look slightly different than the design used thousands of years later. Also being the expensive droid that it is, it could have equal pricing to Treek, both in Credits and Cartel Coins. So since this magnificent BAMF can plausibly exist in the era of SWTOR, wouldn't you love to have your own personal Droideka bodyguard? Support the Droideka!
  14. Bioware, you've been especially good to your game for the past week or so. I'm impressed. Keep it up please.
  15. I vote yes. It's better now than it used to be. I didn't like having to look up which points of a skill tree should go where to get the best numbers in combat. It felt unnecessarily complicated. Change isn't always a bad thing, and neither is simplicity.
  16. One month later and this thread still exists. And it's even at the top of the Class forums. Goody. Guess I'll give a status update. After some time away from the game (not related to the nerd-rage of my original post) I've taken some deep breaths and thought about this a bit more. At the moment, I've opted for the route of ignoring Ashara and her quests. My completionist self isn't happy that her mission is sitting unfinished on my ship, and my OCD self is upset that every time I talk to her, she only says that she wants to talk on the ship. Not a big deal overall, I suppose. But more importantly, like I said I've rethought my opinion on this. It made sense to me at the time that ANY fix to Ashara, even one that would disappoint a lot of people hoping for better (although I didn't realize that at the time), would be better than the dialogue she has now. However. What I didn't think about was: a) Like I already said, a tweak to her story that allowed for more dialogue would be good, but it wouldn't satisfy the players that want a dark-sided version of her. In fact, it would probably make them angrier, but I'll get to that. b) The development time Bioware would have to spend on this would take away from development time of other content; namely, a dark side version of her. And c) This may be intended as a temporary fix, but it would still require her story being rewritten, voice acting to be done, full implementation into the game, etc.. But no matter what Bioware could do, if they didn't include an option to turn her to the dark side, that request would still exist. Eventually they would either have to redo everything they just redid, or never include a dark side option at all. Given all that which I didn't think of in my poorly-thought-out, desperate, and impatient OP, I no longer support this. But I do support the addition of an option to turn Ashara to the dark side. While I no longer believe the idea I presented here is a suitable fix for Ashara, she does still need fixing, and adding an option to turn her to the dark side seems like the best way to do it. Yes, I did just argue against myself. I swear that I'm not insane. Swear. Now that that's done, I'd also like to apologize for my stubbornness and my ranting. I know that my points were often flawed, and some of my replies were powered by nerd-rage. So before I'm done here, I want to say that I'm sorry for that. So yeah. /thread.
  17. I gather that what heizluefta is trying to say is that he's noticed that the first people to post on a thread are usually the ones who disagree with the original poster's opinion. He uses the term "conservative" to describe these people since they are trying to negate a new concept, even though that's not an entirely accurate term to use in that situation. Assuming that's correct, in my experience it depends on what the idea is. People usually don't hate an idea immediately if it makes sense.
  18. Alright, I've played through Shadow of Revan and this is now at the top of my "wants" list. I rarely care about NPCs in this game aside from a few companions here and there, but there was something about Lana, Theron, and even Jakarro that I really got attached to. The romance between Lana and my fem-cathar-assassin was adorable, especially their final conversation on Yavin 4. Theron went from being an enemy I didn't really trust to being like a friend who was probably more trustworthy than half of my crew. Jakarro was a screaming dog-person but the more I listened to him using the same loud audio track the more funny he became. It was disappointing that the player never got the option to choose one of these three as a companion, but in the context of the story it made an annoying amount of sense. However! I don't think that that was the last time we'll see them, unlike the characters from Rise of the Hutt Cartel. For one, unlike certain characters from RotC, none of the crew from SoR ever had the option of dying permanently. This is a very good sign. In a game that tells its stories through updates to the game, like this one, if a character is even given the option of dying or otherwise never being seen again, there becomes a very slim chance that that character will be used in future content. Since the SoR crew is never given that option and they are well-established and generally well-liked characters, there's a good chance they could be a part of the story in the future. Considering the ending of SoR, there's a pretty good idea of what that story could involve. Unless that "problem" is solved through operations. God that would be disappointing.
  19. Imperial Guard armor for my Sith Warrior's crew please. http://starforge.info/data/uploads/sith-army/imperial-guard-1.jpg I would just about die of happiness if I could have a ship full of people wearing that armor.
  20. Could we get some armor that looks like the Imperial Guard on the Cartel Market? Looks like this: http://starforge.info/data/uploads/sith-army/imperial-guard-1.jpg I know there's medium armor and Juggernaut-specific armor that looks sort of like that, but the colors are wrong and adaptive armor is much more flexible in regards to gearing. If I could, I would be more than happy to pay 1200 cartel coins to buy that.
  21. I'm kind of iffy on that. I don't think I'd use that much, but if a lot of other people want it then sure. Either way I'd be more than happy with the update. Or any update to companions, really.
  22. I want a companion based update. More companions and companion storylines, an expansion of current companion storylines, the ability to have two companions out at once, a revamp of the affection system, updated companion AI, actual dialogue instead of one-liners when you click on companions, SGR with companions and more romanceable companions in general, etc. Maybe even the ability to pick and choose characters to be your companion from your class story, letting some die and recruiting others for a max of 5. That might be a bit too much work on Bioware's part, but a guy can dream.
  23. It's funny how every idea here is better than the system they chose to put in the game. In my opinion, they should make Affection invisible and add a bar specifically for crew skills. Call it "Efficiency" or something like that. The more crew skills a companion does, the better they get at it. That way you aren't forced to be best buddies with companions you don't like (Looking at you, Skadge). Then you just need to make the gifts raise Efficiency rather than Affection, get rid of the companion gift categories that don't make sense, and make it so you can give companions stacks of gifts at a time, and voila, a working system. In any case the current system is bad and needs a revamp. Fish-slaps all around for whoever decided Affection should make companions do better in crew skills.
