There are some skills which are simply pointless to a given spec. It's not even a matter of the credits, it's just pointless keeping them upgraded, so I skip over certain ones.

My bounty Hunter wished really hard and she became a real girl, working as intended.

I'm sort of glad they're removing it. Only cause my character is still dealing with a strange bug that gives her random darkside points. So much so that no matter how many lightside choices I make, she stays at neutral alignment. (and no she doesn't have diplomacy) and yes, customer service was useless at addressing this.

Thats not what killed the game you are talking about.
And it rarely happened.
Exaggerate much?
It's not an exaggeration, however people use the "much" thing too much. Launching a chuck norris fact would be more fresh.

As I've said before in other threads, I don't think the game is failing. It's just experienced it's big boom of activity already and the servers have settled down now that people have hit 50, or their initial 30 days is up and they've moved on. I want to see the game do well, but it doesn't mean I don't have a critical eye towards it. It's just average at everything outside of it's nice character stories. When I look at the launcher and just go "eh, think I'm gonna do something else instead" that is a bad thing. A voiced over story driven mmo is a good idea surely, but when the story is over, you're just left with mediocrity. It's not bad and as vile as some people post, it's just not special at least in my opinion. Nothing really makes it stand out against other mmos I've played over the years - once you finish the story that is. Before that, it's fairly entertaining.

Reason why it seems/seemed that wow had more endgame content is because of the grind they generally put in place in order to prep for endgame. remember the Ahn'quiraj unlock stuff? They also used to have attunement quests, or you had to kill certain bosses to get keys to another dungeon. There were also artificial gates put into place that teased you about the next raid to come. With TOR, you're just sort of tossed into it, and it's over quickly. I think that there is really what doesn't sit well with people, no pomp or endgame grind.

What the poster above me said. Just like a good book series, or television series, there is going to be a pause in content. Doesn't mean the story is over, it's just an "until next time" which is more than likely a content patch, or in the first expansion.

You have won the internets, good day I say to you.

Same here, in the upper 20s and onward, it just seems like tank companions fall seriously short, even if they have good gear for their level. When playing a heal specced character, it's bearable, but then you just think.. "if I can keep this sack of wet noodles alive, may as well do the same with a dps companion out." Really is no point in having threat tools when you die in a few hits (think the sand demon quest is when I first realized how sucky my tank was) Dps companion though all the way unless you got support heals to keep your wuss alive.

Sounds like the OP wants a grind, not a challenge. Looking at his post, it seems he's more upset that there's so much loot from a boss, instead of 1 item that half the raid is needing on.

From what i've noticed, half of the players think that leveling up is too easy in this game and the other half think that leveling up is quite hard. I, unfortunately, happen to be in the latter group (I'm about 2 levels below where I should be right now, I think...). I've been kind of following the natural progression that the game sets up, and it wasn't until about halfway through my class quest on Tatooine that I hit the wall so to speak. Can anyone else share their thoughts on this and/or how they've progressed through the game so far?
FYI, i'm currently a lv 26 SI and i've just finished the story quest on Tatooine.
Painful times indeed for an inquisitor at least. You start to realize how ineffective your tank pet is becoming. At least I did, and I kept Khem in flashpoint gear. Improved bubble helps a lot, though on some pulls I end up tossing my inefficient non specced heals to keep the bugger on his toes, sometimes it's just easier to roll with a dps pet and burn through fights that don't drag on.

Legacy level 7. I honestly wish I enjoyed playing enough to be higher, but I just can't stomach it. Kudos to those who can. Maybe more species options per class will liven things up and encourage me to try more alts.

I don't know whether to congratulate you or tell you to leave your house for air and take a shower.
I don't usually make posts agreeing with things like this but...yeah, what this guy here said.
-
Man, this game can't catch a break. On one hand you have people who complain about not seeing other people on their server hardly. On this side here you have a person who is annoyed by interaction with others.
-
Not sure if OP wants harder end game or more of a grind/time-sink.
I'm all for added difficulty...you can 3man some hardmodes with companions at an ubdergeared itemization.I know that's contrary to popular belief because of the constant complaints about enrage timers.
You asked the right question here. I really think it's not a harder end game people are looking for. They want more of a grind, 2 hour waves of trash or a boss that only has a 1 percent chance to drop something they really want so they end up spending weeks and weeks and weeks going back. in Swtor, it's streamlined, so they get their gear faster, so then there is complaining to be had.

Had a similar experience in anarchy online, where 40 or 50 players would gather to wail on the tougher world bosses (notum soldier, diamondine etc etc) Just felt a little more epic. However it seems with every new generation of mmos, the social side of it takes a nosedive. Communitiess are for the most part garbage. We've even devolved to basically labeling and insulting each other in a nonchalant manner (you're either a casual or hardcore, and both are sometimes interchangeable as insults) I guess it's just the result of mmos going mainstream and attracting more unsavory persons. Oh well, still, those were good times back then.
-
please..no hamster wheel gear chasing.
That is pretty much what most mmos are at their core. get gear to do harder content, for more gear. At least that's how you appease the raiding crowd anyway.

I find it funny that in swtor, you actually look worse as you progress.

It's hard to come up with a class that is unique enough to be distinguished from others considering advanced classes. Plus a class unique enough to have a fleshed out storyline.
SWG classes can't really be in this since they're merely weapon specializations for the most part. Either that or non-combat oriented.
All your typical responses won't work here.
Assassin - done with agent
Engineer - not combat oriented (plus we all are engineers with reverse engineering)
Any ideas?
Teras kasi artist, nuff said.

I really don't think you're going to see new classes. Ever.
Look at the spaceport designs...No room to add more hanger access or elevators. A new class means a huge investment in a new class story line. Not to mention a new class means adding half a dozen companions and their quests.
I will be shocked if proven wrong.
Would be silly to think that none of this has been considered. No doubt they are designing a new class or at least in talks about new ones for future content. At least in the mmos I've played, at some point or another, a new class is added, if not classes.
-
Although it would be really cool of them to do so, I seriously doubt you're ever going to see an option to change your existing character race. It makes more sense for their finances for you to roll another alt and spend more time paying to play the game.
At the very least, they NEED to either let us create alts on another server that benefit from our existing Legacy, or add more character slots so we can create them.
This pretty much. They might add it in the future, but now would be too soon, gotta keep a person playing as long as possible. I've held off making certain alts until I see which races the different classes will have access to. Miraluka inquisitor would be nice, as well as twi'lek bounty hunter.

I have got one in game mail since early acsess, what ever Bioware has in place, works, or the playerbase here was smart enough not to buy from those scum bags..
I doubt they've done anything. There just isn't a need. It's kinda like that episode of the simpsons where Lisa offered Homer a rock that keeps away bears. You don't see any spammers hardly so you just assume bioware is the cause heh. It's not a stab at them by any means. It's just that as a business, if they don't have to devote resources to a problem, I'm sure they won't. The spammers no doubt just saw greener pastures elsewhere.
Edited to add, this is why some people still get mails and such and occasionally see a spammer, but it's nowhere near the scale of say wow at it's worst. No profit in it.
-
It's cause credits are virtually meaningless and there is no point in buying them, they're too easy to get. In other words, there is no market, so it's not cost effective for the spammers to keep it up.

2.5 million
The haters are gonna be shocked when the new numbers come out.
Being a hater is just as bad as having blinders on. I'm 100 percent positive this game does not have the same number of active subscriptions it did when it came out in december. It's not a knock on the game, it's just the way it is. It's rare for any mmo to see a sharp upswing in subscriptions post launch. it's one of those things where you either like it and stick with it, or you hate it and quit. Games like wow and some of it's predecessors are exceptional examples to the contrary. Don't get me wrong, I want to see this game do well. However one has to be realistic, it'll settle into a comfortable number of subscriptions, but it won't be 2.5 million, I'm willing to stake my life savings on that.
Swtor's voice acting has ruined other games for me!

You said it yourself, the game has text but it's fun. To me, that is all that matters in a game. Voice is nice, but swtor's problem is that it's very lackluster when you get past the excellent voice work, at least it is for me (not gonna be a jerk and just make generalizations for everyone) I love the fully voiced quests, and where you see the npcs reacting to things you do, but at the end of the day, gameplay wins out.
