first off, where they(the dps) focus attacking what you where tanking? did you put gaurd up on the healer(sometimes i put it on the biggest dps char, to allow them to do mroe dmg, and generate less agro) also where you using your AOE smash move when you can and tab targeting the other targets during the fight to get a few rotations of hits on them? tho i promise after 30 it gets a bit better, you get an aoe taunt, and backhand, im currently a 32 immo Jug, but to be honest iv had a few drinks and thats about all i can think of atm....
