Its not a joke, there is open world PvP everywhere and fighting for control of planets and zones... oh wait..... that was the other starwars MMO

To anyone who still miss SWG you may want to check out a MMO in development called "The Repopulation" not to mention PreCU and NGE versions of the game being recreated by players.. As far as SWG yes if done right a sandbox MMO works, just SWG was designed to never have a player jedi class... when the game was rushed into launch like most MMO's are now SOE needed badly to focus on bugs and content additions but instead gave into player demands for jedi. Jedi was for some reason was an alpha class, and once they started apearing on servers new players were turned away and off on the idea of an alpha class and the game.. When the CU hit it bacame easier to unlock jedi and all anyone I knew playing were either unlocking jedi , hunting jedi or quiting not wanting to be a jedi or bounty hunter, leaving the other many classes kinda worthless. NGE then followed and well that was horrible. It just seemed like SOE spent all their time dealing with jedi instead of sticking to their originial plans... I will always miss the sandbox planets, player cities, real crafting and economey, REAL SPACE!... Character customization, all the speeders and mounts, house decorations, REAL WORLD PVP! ....... anyone who played the last year or two of the NGE despite the lame classes knows there was alot of content that was focused on top level players and it was pertty good despite low player population and bugs..... Miss you SWG! Oh and I do like this game for what it is, I mean it does have everything SWG didnt have... but thats about it :-/

As I have already canceled my subscription to this game mostly because of PvP... I cant help but to think of how good SWG was and how great it could of been, yeah I know SWG was the biggest "could of been" MMO ever.. lol As a PvP player Im just disgusted with this game and cant help but to remember how great PvP was in SWG when it was first around, yeah after a while alpha jedis being unlocked left and right ruined it but before that there was the war effort, everyone crafting and gathering for better player made gear, buffs , stims, foods, drinks.. then you would have a player city usally filled and ran by an imp or reb guild who whould place a base just daring the other faction to do something about it lol. And that game was very social, never do I talk to other players in MMO's like I did in good ole SWG. I will miss that game and hate SOE for somehow turning what should of been gold into bantha poo.... As far as this game, its just a big theme park per class and once its done,, the game is kinda done... :-/

Dont worry but, Im a huge fanboy and this game sucks horrible.. they put so much focus on how much fun you have leveling that endgame and PvP has fallen flat on its face.. I mean even the last starwars game was more fun PvP than this ... and thats kinda sad before anyone blasts me I havent played SWG in years nor was a huge fan of that game...

Good for you, I have a few days left myself and as Im writing this Im installing another MMO that knows PvP... If they fix this mess I can see me coming back but its good that your not just rage quiting without input of why.. Hopefully they will fix this up for us PvP players.

Well canceling tells BioWare money is lost, and money talks.. I mean if they get PvP less buggy and patched up I will probally come back

Well SWG was 8 years of beta in my opinion, and I feel like this is goin to be the same so yeah Im not to happy.. Sorry to see everyone flaming at eachother of this post, figured I would let BioWare know why they were not goin to be getting anymore of my money. And if the fix things up some, hey I will gladly play again.

Yeah that was probally one of my dumbest forum posts ever.. lol Just waited a long time for this game, and PvP has got to be the worst here Ive ever played in any MMO...

Well just canceled, waited for ever for this game just to be let down.... The game ranks 110% in every category except PvP which unfortunatly for me is most of my endgame... PvP needs bracketed, cross server queues and NO LAME *** BOLSTER SYSTEM! Game needs class balance something horrible, and yes Ive played smuggler, bounty hunter and sith sorcerer.. All PvP and warzones are set up not for skill but who can dish out the most CC's, very annoying! And PvP is just really buggy, having to mash a button 3 to 4 times to fire off a move it seems, not to mention trying to throw the damn huttball! Just done, damn cant believe Im saying this but I kinda miss SWG now......

Dont blame you, thinking about canceling myself. PvP in this game is the worst Ive ever played in any MMO. Bolster system works fine until you go against a geared lvl 50, and to be honest I dont like the bolster system for the fact I want to be playing against players around my level with the stats my character should have for its level.. kinda important to me to see how my toon is progressing. Also its buggy as hell, Im having to mash a key 2 to 3 time to fire off an ability. PvP seems to require no skill its just who has the most CC's which to me is just fustrating as hell getting stunned every 5 damn seconds. Just very disapointing, once I hit 50 and finish my toons story line dont see me sticking around...... Though I would suggest if they could get warzones less buggy, level brackets and cross server queues.. it start making it fun even with all the lame *** CC's

After I finish my story line and hit 50 I really dont see me sticking around, PvP has always been my endgame and I just dont see any endgame here. They really need bracketed, cross server warzones ASAP!! Bolster system is ok at best, even though it works you still get freaking owned by any level 50 with more gear and abilities. And I really dont get a feel for how Im building my character abilities and tactics wise in this system.. I need to be facing other toons around my level unbuffed or bolstered to really know! Not to mention, hate to say it but I miss WoW's arena game play...

I agree, I would perfer bracketed warzones that were cross server queues. WoW when they went to that system was my favorite PvP system ever, I could care less about if Im fighting vs my server or others. As far as Bolster, I understand the gear and level thing but it cannot and will never make up for abilities and the polish another higher level will have.. The abilities are just not unlocked yet for a lower level character to be competitive, BioWare gave a nice try with this PvP system and they have made an awsome all around game but for the first time in the many MMO's Ive played Im not enjoying PvP.

I have an Asus G7 gaming laptop with I7 core and the works, my hardware is fine. I went into the ATI CCC video card settings and turned everything down there and in the in game graphic settings, no help there. My connection is good to, my latencey is great so not sure whats killing me.. Im use to lag with other games and computers but this is the worst even with my best internet connection and hardware

Im just goin to keep playing smuggler for now, I enjoy the story line and retry PvP at later levels. Im not stranger to PvP in MMO's, it was the only thing I did in WoW and even SWG. If smuggler doesnt work for me I will try another class.

I really hate to complain, this is a really good game in all aspects to me except PvP. I just dont understand why there are not bracketed queues that are cross server, bolstered stats does not make up for lack of abilites you get at higher levels. Right now Im playing a level 20 gunslinger smuggler and its not very fun in PvP, I do great questing and in group content as DPS but fail huge in PvP. And the lag is horrible and buggy in battlegrounds to, I have no trouble in anyother aspect of the game with lag or glitches. I hate to complain on such a great game BioWare has made, I just hope the PvP aspect gets better. Oh and if anyone has any gunslinger smuggler PvP advice I would very much be thankful.

I couldnt agree more, If they have followed WoW so much why not cross server, bracketed queues?? Im starting to not even know if Im playing my class correctly, Im fine in questing and group activities.. But in PvP my gunslinger smuggler feels so under powered vs the higher levels, they can jack my stats up all they want but lower level lack of abilities is killing me!
