  1. This is SWTOR's NGE. The changes to the UI and classes are pathetic. This so called "update" is an epic pile of S**T!
  2. The UI looks unfinished. Its hard on the eyes. I can see this UI giving people a headache.
  3. I have not seen any information on this, but when I sold my 10k credit certificate and my 5x 25k credit certificates today I did not receive credits for them. I am not going to sale any of them on other characters and I suggest others do the same.
  4. Actually that already happens because its premades rolling pugs in huttball all the time. Wanna fix huttball put non-force user classes on a equal playing field as force user classes. Besides a really poor CC system force user classes have the abilities to dominate.
  5. The resolve system should have been done away with soon after launch. The 3 major reasons why only thousands play this game and millions have left is 1. lack of end game PvE content at release and a the very slow pace in which more content is added. 2. Poorly done PvP system stacked with a monkey spam combat system (for many builds its spam this attack to proc this attack over and over and over). 3. Is the epic fail resolve system. When a player is stunned for x amount of time, once the CC breaks, the player should be immune to all stuns for x amount of time. Same for mezzes. Same for KBs. Same for roots. Snares are the only thing I would not grant immunity for. Every MMO that I have played that used this type of CC system worked great. It was a fair trade off. You didnt see thousands of posts complaining about being CCed to death over and over and over. The only thing that has been done to this resolve system is Bioware has made it worse than what it was at launch. The reason for such a large amount of CCs in game IMO is Bioware started out planning for non-trinity classes. Then Bioware backed out and decided it would be better to go with the trinity design. Which was fine. Again this is my opinion, but as they started out to build classes for the non-trinity and then changed course they did a really bad job with changing up how many CCs were going to be in game and also what classes got what CCs. In a non-trinity classes have to take care of themselves, but in a trinity you have tanks, dps, and support classes. The support classes/builds should be the primary ones taking care of CCs along with heals. I have never played a trinity system where top DPS classes had the ability to not only beat down another class, but also lock them down making it pretty much a faceroll combat system. Some of the classes have way to much utility for their current roll. They went too much hybrid between non-trinity and trinity which really hurt combat (PvP for the biggest part). It would be like making a non-trinity game with trinity classes. It does not work out so great.
  6. Did not read all the post so not sure if this has been mentioned. Best targeting I have seen and used in all the MMOs I have played was in SWG. You could set up targeting so you could cycle targets outward or cycle targets inward. Outward started with closest target to you and worked its way out (these were targets in your line of sight). Inward started with the target longest distance away and worked its way in. This would be great in a Void match. As a healer standing in the back healing and someone starts to pop the door, I just use my Inward targeting to get a lock on him quickly to interupt. It really was a great targeting system. I always used outward for the close range melee, and used inward for the ranged in the back. I have played a couple other MMOs that used versions of this targeting, but never worked as smooth. Most MMOs use the standard tab targeting sadly.
  7. Yes I have seen this a happen. I have seen ppl get in the cornor of the node in coast and you cant see them and they cap the node, only way to interupt is AOE them. Other than that you can not touch them. After the last merge into the super crapy servers PvP has been all screwed up with lag, ability delay, bugs, rubber banding, ect. The engine/code is total crap and is way over loaded to handle whats on the servers. As for the bugs, if its not these bugs it will be another.
  8. I agree 100% with you. I have been telling my friends that every time pugs go up against premades just everyone drop in the first seconds of the match. Then Bioware might stop being so dumb and fix the warzones like ppl told them during testing. Every problem we see now with warzones, we told them many times in beta testing the game would be sad shape in the first few months (among many other things that was going to kill the game). Anyone remember 50s in with the rest PvP? People say it is easier now to get PvP gear than ever before either dont remember the first weeks of the game or were not here. The extreme amouth of xp given from warzone matches (another thing that was told to Bioware over and over and over that needed to be fixed before release). The huge amount of lvl 50s in the first few days of release farming lowbies in warzones. That was easy mode PvP gear grind. As long as it takes Bioware to get anything done there will not be anyone left to see it done anyhow. These are all things that should have been done at release. Now remember it took them 6 years just to release a 150 million dollar unfinished fail of a game, the same out of time that other MMOs have already been out for a year with a lot more content. We are over 7 years in and this game is still lacking at basic MMO features that have been in other MMOs for many years. Bioware still believes the "4th Pillar" is all you need, forget the other pillars. Just look at the coming xpac, its all about more story, they just copy paste content that we have all done many times over for "new" flashpoints and raids.
  9. This is something that needs to be done for CCs across the board in PvP. Do away with the resolve. If a player has been stunned for 4 sec, now they are immune to all stuns for 4 sec. Been hit with an 8 sec mez, now your immune 8 seconds. Same goes for roots. Of course the immunity kicks in upon break. Snares is the only CC I would say no immunity for because of melee. But at the same time take classes that can just spam snares is bad too. All abilities (minus the basic attack) should have a CD. This monkey spamming 1 ability over and over is a bad combat system.
  10. I dont see it ever happening. The first team that started this game were some arrogant idiots that had no clue how to build an MMO, these replacements are dumber than the first team. I have played several MMOs over many years and I have never seen a team of devs this bad. Bioware cant balance the game as it is. With the xpac coming I dont see it getting any better. It will still be the same old monkey spam system with the same old epic fail resolve system.
  11. Well I got the new speeder. I do like it. The problem I have is I had bought a set of armor for an alt at lvl 9, but I did not recieve all the pieces that it clearly states that is in the set on the Cartel store. I did place a ticket, but by the time I get a response from CS I will probably be lvl 50. So until I get the items I paid for I will not buy another thing from the Cartel market.
  12. I thought the idiot Bioware had before running PvP was bad. Bioware needs to really find some people that have some real MMO experience. I have always thought the resolve system was nothing more than a work around system for people that understood it. Its a huge work around system now. This game needs improvements, not idiots making things worse with changes like this. What this game needs is a real CC system that puts people on equal ground. Best system I have seen is a global CC cool down for each CC set (Mez, roots/snares, KD/KB, stuns). If you are stuned you get a immunity to stun for so many seconds, and so on for each CC set. Not this stupid crap of being CCed to death. I dont think the people at Bioware are smart enough to know how to improve this game or even save it from fully tanking. The biggest things that has killed this game is huge lack of end game content and very poor PvP. Poeple dont enjoy PvP when half the time they dont have control of their toon.
  13. Well I have followed the romance with Mako leading up to the convo that she tells me she loves me and we get decide to get married all that stuff, but it just cut off. The conversations with BH have to be bugged because I have played the BH story in full before and explored all the conversations and know the out come.
  14. Commando/Merc are not broken. Its just now all those players that just monkey spammed people to death now have to use a rotation. Players were never meant to be able to do this so Bioware made the changes. Sadly when you have a CC fest monkey spam combat system players are going to do what they can to spam as much as they can to win. The problem is many of the players got addicted to just having to spam and now they dont like it because they have to actually use a rotation. Besides all that both Comm/Merc can spec AS/Pyro that gives them mobility. This still requires a rotation, but they dont have to stand in one spot. As for as them dieing fast, well I know lots of players that are focus firing them because of all the times they have been monkey spammed to death by them in the past. You could say what goes around comes around. Dont get me wrong, I have no love for the people running PvP and combat. World PvP is a blunder and even if they do ever get it rolling most players are just going to lag out when their is 20+ players around because of the poor job making the game with the current engine. Too much is rendered client side and this is alos why we see all the hacks in game. I also dont care the for crap resolve system. Every ability should have a cooldown based on its strength. There should be a immunity to each CC set (stuns, snares/roots, mezzes, knockbacks) for so many seconds before another of that set can be used on that player again. Of course this calls for a revamp of the combat system we have atm, but it would be worth it.
  15. It really depends on how succesful GW2 is with their world PvP or PvP in general. If they do a good job it can have a big impact on TOR. As for every MMO and their success at world PvP. There has been MMOs that had epic world PvP. With TOR Bioware is just one of many that has failed at generating great PvP. They sold out to the diseased WoW crap PvP. One the problems Bioware has with PvP is they did a really bad job when making the game. Too much is rendered client side. For starters this is one of the reasons the game runs poorly on average machines. They will never pull off great world PvP because you get 30+ people around players just go to lagging out. This is also the reason there is so many hackers. Yes there are hackers in every game, but when the game is 3 months old and there is already this amount is just an indicator of what the future will look like. People thought Add-ons in WoW was bad they have not seen anything yet. Bioware has to get this fixed really fast and they can remove a lot of hacks and resolve some of the lag issues. Second they need to generate more world PvP content. One of the MMOs they can look at to take ideas from is SWG. Fighting over city control, base control, destroying bases, ect. SWG had a few daily missions, but their daily missions actually added to the PvP unlike the Illum cirlce jerk Bioware created. Second Bioware forces players to the WZ grind to progress with gear. You allow players to gain valor AND comms in world PvP players will start to be a lot more active in it. Now if Bioware creates good world PvP content this means WZ will suffer, but they are dieing out anyhow so they need to do something to generate better PvP and keep players interested. PvP is only one of the reasons this game is bleeding. Overall I look at TOR as a average MMO at best. Just because it releases with over a million subs does not make it a success. AoC releases with over 900,000 and it never could stop the bleeding of subs. Funcom actually comes up with new ideas which was great, their problems where lack of money and another that Bioware has a big problem with too is doing a bad job at testing things before putting them live. Bioware has been so hung up on full voice over, class story, and cutscenes that they left out much of what actually makes a MMO great. Bioware failed at basic MMOs features. While some people will say well these other MMOs didnt have some of these features when they released. Well yea they didnt have those features when they released 7 to 10 years ago, but soon after addes those features. There are many features that have become the norm that many players expect to see in a MMO. Now throw in the amount of money Bioware spent on this MMO plus taking 6 years to make the game, taking more time and spending more money than other MMOs and they still leave out so much that makes a MMO great. The social aspect is lacking, customization is lacking (while it has been improved it is still lacking), PvP is lacking, ect. Look at the space combat they wasted resources on. Bioware should have spent those resources on actually having a good UI at release, better customization, more playable races, ect. For many players the space combat was a slap in the face, then they tried to sale it as something it was not with comments like it truely represents dog fighting. Dont get me started on the end game gear. While leveling up its not too bad, but once you hit end game it turns to crap. I dont want to look like my character belongs in WoW. I want to look like I am actually a hero in SW. Bioware has not offered anything new other than cutscenes and full voice over. One might say well we have the resolve system. Well I wouldnt brag on such a poor system. The combination of being able to lock someone down for to the point they have no control of their character then throw in the monkey spam combat system allowing a player to monkey spammed to death is just a bad system. If Bioware is going to have a CC fest monkey spam system then they should have immunity per CC set. Get stunned for 4 seconds, on break the player is now immune for 4 seconds. Get mezzed for 8 seconds (sleep dart, whirlwind, ect), on break you are immune for 8 seconds. Get snared or rooted, on break you are immune for 4 seconds. This is the best system I have ever experienced, yes better than the DR system of WoW. It allows players to still have control of their character and have a chance to escape, survive, or fight back rather than be perma locked down. Bioware has been so hung up on their story that they forgot what actually makes an MMO great. I am afraid they are starting to realize that too little too late though. Now the story is great, but is no where near enough. Besides that the story that a player creates for themselves is far greater than any story Bioware can write for them. When I played games like SWG, EQ, EQ2, AoC, hell even CovV/CoH my character felt epic and not herioc. So we are suppose to be herioc in this game, but yet dismiss your companion and go attack stuff and see how herioc you really are. Your companions are more herioc than your toon is. I could keep going, but overall Bioware has way too much to get done to ever make this MMO great. During my months of beta testing I said Bioware will have 6 months tops to get this game in order before because it will not hold players before the new MMOs start rolling out or its dead in the water. We are now seeing that affect already happen at 3 months.
  16. I think it was a huge step backwards. The game does not run as smooth for sure. Sure it was nice they updated the UI out of the stone age of UIs, but should have been that way from launch. Guild banks, should have been in from launch. Bioware didnt give us anything new, just things that should have been in game at launch. The changes to PvP gear and top of the rewards for winning/losing WZ is a epic blunder. Bioware for sure has the worst people running PvP and combat. The way it has all been handled is just extremely poor. For a player to spend that much time gaining gear and then get screwed. For a player to spend time in a WZ match and then his team loose the match then the player gets 0 for rewards across the board. I mean 0 for everything. I know it happens because I experienced it first hand. To be go into a match and be there from start to finish and get total shafted is just BS. I rank the guys running PvP and combat with the guy that come up with the NGE. But hey, I knew what we were in store for going back before testing. Soon as I seen whom they had, where they had come from, and what they were doing it was not going to be good. So they make a blunder of world PvP, they flip flop around on gear and screw people over, they have kept jacking with WZ rewards tell it start driving players away from PvP and the game. So JO your in charge, whats it going to take to get some good people in here to fix things and give us great PvP and a great Combat system and trash this monkey spam system and tone down this over the top expertise crap? Does the game need to bleed more before you take out the trash and bring in some good experienced people?
  17. I loved the ID in SWG. Having an ID as a trade skill would be great. /signed
  18. Fixed, thanks for pointing out my mistake.
  19. /signed I agree with what you are saying. I know of others that have dealt with the same thing. Bioware needs to replace the guys running PvP and combat because they are idiots. The PvP is the only thing that keeps most people interested in this game and the idiots are just turning it into pure trash.
  20. I agree with you. I have been enjoying playing my Op healer tell now. The monkey spamming is worse now than has been. Its nothing but a zerg fest now. Run in and get hit with 3 or 4 monkey spam attacks and do it again. It does not take any skill to fire the same attack over and over. Commandos and Mercs are the worst as an Op healer. Soon as they see you its monkey shot, monkey shot, monkey shot tell you either get away or your dead. This combat system needs a complete over haul and put everything on CDs so players have to actually use a rotation and put some thought process in what they are doing.
  21. Well I decided I would try a little more PvP being the servers are back up. While in the past I have always been pleased with Bioware and what they have done and it is great that they gave us another SW MMO to play, but they have got to replace the people they have running PvP and combat. After 1.2 what PvP there was (being they failed to produce great PvP, world PvP and just being stuck with the same old diseased WoW PvP) it is a total cluster ****! The monkey spamming is even worse. Bioware you have to replace the idiots running PvP and combat because you guys just took a big step backwards. The monkey spamming already made for poor combat, now with the over the top DPS all it has turned into is a zerg fest. Bioware you really need to make a combat system that puts cooldowns on all your abilities. Players should have to actually use a rotation, actually put some thought process into what they are doing. Bioware you once said you wanted PvP to based on skill and wanted all your classes to balanced against one another. Well it takes no skill to beat your head against the keyboard and spam 1 or 2 attacks. Any kind of balance there was pretty much went out the door after this patch. Then throw in expertise gear and its just that much worse. I do understand that the PvP gear is a touchy subject with most PvPers because most PvPers are just too lazy or dumb to just go out and PvP for the challenge, or the average WoW infected player that has never seen what great PvP actually is and need their crutch gear. As of now I see this MMO bleeding subs after this screw up, and if you do not get world PvP in order it will continue to bleed.
  22. There are still bugs in the game that have were there through months of testing. I know first hand because I seen them and they were reported every build but were ignored. I think Bioware was focused on class story and voice over that most of what makes an MMO great did not make into game, so now instead of polishing the game so it will flourish they are trying to finish or add in all the great MMO elements. What is sad they still have a ton of work to do. World PvP is a epic blunder, instead we get the diseased WoW version of stand in the main hub and Q up for the scripted grind. Customization is still lacking, though they did make improvements in 1.2 with the UI and color matching (BTW was in during testing and removed at the end) for gear. Still it is very lacking vs. other MMOs. Space combat needs to be added in, real space combat with group content and PvP. Being about to actually customize your ship like they said we were going to able to do. Adding in guild ships also. Now throw in the blunder of 1.2. What was fairly balanced PvP went down the drain.
  23. I have played several MMOs and I voiced my thoughts going back before testing, even while I was apart of testing. While it has been very hard to do I wanted to stay optimistic too. I have been hard on Bioware and I will continue to do so. Every thing I had concerns about before testing came true while I was in testing. It has been no different after launch. The number one problem Bioware has is the very poor team they have running PvP and combat.
  24. Well I have said this before and I will say this again. Bioware has the worst guys running combat and PvP. Bioware has got to bring in some people that know how to balance things and now how to generate great PvP (world PvP). This game went from average to trash for me. Though it will be hard for Bioware to ever have great PvP becuse of such a horrible job with making the game, get more than 30 in combat and it just lags most machines down. That is extremely bad when looking at the graphics, not that their bad, its just it should not take an extreme machine to run this game. Most of my friends had to buy new rigs to play the game and thats coming from games like AoC that have way more extreme graphics and their old machines ran it just fine. Not to mention most people know how bad of a job Funcom did with that game so what does that say for Bioware. All around the changes the too combat and PvP just degraded this MMO.
  25. That is just the way I look at it, when I am aware of something I am just going to ignore it. I would like for some day the PvP in this MMO to be one of the best, but sadly it is far from it. Bioware made a epic blunder with world PvP. Of all games too look for a SW MMO SWG had a great world PvP system they could have built on and perfected with base battles to destroy or take control, city control, ect. With WZ I see it the same way. I want it to be the best it can be. I do agree that players do see odd things due to lag and latency. Wished that was the case, but is not. Several times I have seen this happen as the ball carrier is coming down the lower ramp (where I see happen the most) just as he crosses through the fire a player uses KB and they get thrown forward. Now not only do I see this, other group members do too. The player that used the KB yells BS in chat, not only that everyone else around says the same thing. It is a bug. As for CCs that differ as to how much they add to the resolve bar. Smuggler and Agent classes are what players notice the most. A father and son in my guild play an Op and Scoundrel and have noticed the differences. There has been examples of this given by other players. Like other people I have seen charts done by others, but I do agree with what some people are asking for and that is real numbers given by Bioware. To be honest (and you know this happens) there is a lot of players that will support in favor of not changes to things with PvP when they know how to use it to their advantage. Secondly not every MMO gamer has a lot of experience with different PvP systems. I have seen great PvP and I have seen really bad PvP. Good thing the WZ in this MMO are not bad, but sadly the world PvP needs serious work. I do understand that there are some people like yourself that just really like the system for what it is. As for players that do not fully understand the system, yes there are those. Yes there are those they will find things wrong with most anything. I think when it comes to PvP the best innovation BW delivered was how they have done each WZ so far. The system is a cool idea, but still I see its flaws. I was not using the WoW system as an example. Honestly, I played WoW and thought it was also horrible with world PvP. It was a rock, paper, scissors system. Not balance at all between classes. Sadly this is where people also mistake this game as being, guess they have never paid attention to Bioware saying they work towards class vs. class balance. I have always looked at a rock/paper/scissors system as being one of the worst things Devs can do for PvP. The problem with Wow is was built for PvE first hand and if they did balance it per class it would just be bad for the PvE. The system I was using is one that SOE has used. Take EQ2 for example. SOE seperated PvE and PvP. When I say seperated, I mean completely. No other MMO before had done this. Pretty much every ability was different from PvE to PvP. Say one was would Mez the target in PvE, well it would do damage and a snare in PvP. It allowed them to totally balance one without changing the other. Though sadly it was not all that balanced lvling up to max lvl. Still no MMO is going to be perfectly balanced per class. Now as to the CCs. SOE system they have used, a person pointed out SWG being one of them in a thread earlier, was for every CC used there was a immunity with it. There was not build up. If I remember correctly in SWG say you were knocked down, then you were immune for 10 seconds to KDs. If you were rooted it was 15 seconds of immunity, but Pistoleer had a stopping shot that would root you for 15 seconds. You could not chain CC someone down. The player had a chance to react even if they were being focused fired. Though the combat was fast paced, it was not fast paced in the meaning you die really fast. Now in no way do I think we should have those long of immunity in this game. I would say 4 seconds is more than enough. My problem is not does resolve kick in once its full, its just far too often your dead before it kicks in because you are CCed back to back with no control of the outcome. Throw in the long CD of CC break. It just adds to this. Lets say your CC break is on CD. You are stunned by a Commando or BH, soon as your stunned you get hit with (sorry just this how it is used) monkey spamming attack for 2k+ over and over tell your pretty much dead, then BAM! your hit with a seond stun. So what ever skill you thought you were going to us to survive that fight just went out the window cause now you can sit there for 8 seconds and watch the yourself die to pretty much 1 attack being used on you. Sorry that is not skill, that is a flawed system with poorly designed combat. All hard hitting attacks should have a built in CD. It is bad to allow a player to be locked down for 8 seconds knowing you allow a class to spam one attack that hits that hard. As to Huttball, the system I mentioned would still work fine. Instead of longer movements with resolve kicked in it would be shorter movements between immunity. The easy fix is for Bioware to balance their combat better around their resolve system.
