  1. I'd like to put up my frustration as well... if you put your cursor on top of a shield generator, it'll automatically assume you want to use proton torpedo's and not missiles, even when you're out of torpedoes, it'll still do the targeting function of torpedoes preventing missiles from launching. I used to be able to take these targets out with missiles, now I can't. Once you've burnt up your 4 torpedoes, you're screwed. I mean sometimes it's easy taking out a generator with missiles, fire a couple missiles... clean out the screen of small target, fire a couple more. Torpedoes you have to leave your cursor on the target for about 3 seconds it'll lock then you can fire click right mouse button to release it. Not very fun when you have 50 other things hitting you, you almost need to use Warfare pod in conjunction to torpedoes. I've emptied my torpedo slot.... and no there isn't anything that missiles won't take out. Just takes a lot of missiles.
  2. I could of sworn I wasn't able to reverse engineer hilts or enhancements that I didn't craft myself. I can disassemble lightsabres that i didn't create but not the mods that they get disassembled. I'll further test tonight.
  3. You guys seem to forget that no sith ever had a purple colored saber in the star wars universe. It's mostly been Mace Windu, Ki-Adi Mundi (expanded universe) & some say Mara Jade had a purple one at one point, but some debate that it's actually a pink one. Also the color alignment is dark vs light not jedi vs sith. So a dark jedi can easily be wielding a red saber as can a light sith wield a green/blue. The dark side only has 1 color restrictions (red) but the fact they have sith corruption graphics more than compensates for that. Stop whining.

    Lag!

You're system as a whole is due to be replaced. It seems that computer has already been upgraded in the past. It would be time to get something new. If you do buy something new, like I said before the key part is the video card. If you aren't going to buy components and assemble yourself, make sure you get a good video card with the system.

    Lag!

Your video card is the problem I'm afraid. Take a look at the website below. It's ranked 1015, meanking there's 1014 models better than yours. If you compare the scores (yours is 46), I currently have a Radeon HD 5850 and I have on average 60-75 frames per second with a score of 2524. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+6150+LE The video card is the key ingredient to playing games smoothly, The other parts while essential, aren't the key factor.
  6. It's not just a social function either. In raids when someone had a macro that would say "I'm on fire! need heals!". It stands out much more for a healer. You can easily spot him, target and boom toss heal/shield whatever. Otherwise you would require to spot the message in chat box, identify who said it. Then find him in your raid frame among 25 players (40 in the early days), select him then heal. Sometimes realize he's not in range, figure out his location then run towards him then heal. Not always an easy task.
  7. It's not a roleplayer thing, it's an ease of use thing. You should of perhaps left it on for a while an you probably would have gotten used to how great it is. Instead of saying its the first thing you turn off and say you never used it and now you say "well whats so great about it". You might say you're not a troll, but a troll is a troll.
  8. My main gripe is that there's a /1 "general chat" function that talks to everyone in the zone and a "/say" function which keeps is in the local area, but you don't really know the range of how far /say goes.
  9. I went in every nook and cranny looking for the last 2 datacrons and even found a hole through world map and came up emtpy handed. If anyone's curious about this "hole" a quick death will reveal the whole map, there isn't a single hexagon on my map anymore. Down the sewer's in the Hutt's palace, I forget his name.. Broga maybe. The pipe on the top right is blocked by a grid. There's a hole in the grill in the top right and you can hop on the boxes and jump though the other side. I was sure this was one of the datacrons, until I reached the other end and saw a complete void, walk off the pipe and you'll fall though the world.
  10. Dromund Kaas's 6th datacron is the matrix assembly chamber. It's the same thing for republic on Coruscant, the 6th's one is the matrix assembly in the jedi council.
  11. There's no color crystal for the security key vendor. http://www.askajedi.com/2011/12/15/security-key-vendor-items-revealed/
  12. Currently there's no search function available in the forum. It doesn't mean you can't find alternatives though. Here's something you can try... go to google.com and seach for"site:http://www.swtor.com keyword" This will search only within http://www.swtor.com and google.com page crawler is usually pretty accurate to the day. Hope this helps.
  13. I don't believe there's an accurate formula posted. I also believe the formula would be in percentage not a fix amount for the out of game. The rested xp gains are increased as you level.
  14. There's 2 possible explanations. Bonus missions are given by a droid who drops down and will either update or say mission completed. You'll usually see a purple/pink square as if he opens a little display screen for you to see. When this happens it should say in the middle of the screen "bonus mission updating..." 2nd explanation: There's sometime tiny little droids that'll circle you during fights. It's cast by the enemy you are fighting (usually tech/bounty hunter types). It's a damage over time effect and you cannot target these little droids to stop it. Even after the enemy is killed these little droids will hang around and zap you for a few seconds until it wears off. Hope this helps.
  15. It takes a very long time to hit rank 2 social its not bugged.
  16. go to http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html You'll see the 9800m's ranking in terms of performance. Yours is GeForce 9800M GTS score: 795 (middle of the high end chart) Here's where the Radeon 3000 lands Radeon 3000 score: 129 (bottom of the list for Mid end chart) So yeah, don't buy it.
  17. The Radeon 3000 is actually slower than your current 9800m. It'll run very poorly.
  18. Find someone who needs to do the quest and enter with that person. You need 2 people for this datacron anyways.
  19. Just so you are aware, the processor you linked @ 341.98 already included the Asus motherboard as a combo. You linked the motherboard+price separately underneath. One may accidentally order 2 motherboards if not careful. Just an FYI.
  20. I'm sorry to hear you're disappointed with the game. However information on how to cancel your subscription is already posted on the main website under Game Info > Support. On the right hand menu under Help Center there's "Subscription Cancellation". So you're not helping anyone at all. Thanks,
  21. [sarcasm] Where is this "Auction House" you speak of. I've searched for a while now and see no "Auction House" in any of the fleets. Does it resemble the Galactic Trade Network (GTN)? Does it have a better search function than the GTN? [/sarcasm]
  22. You broke the smuggler code: "Don't tell the authorities where you smuggle stuff".
  23. I think what the issue might be here is that you think your light/dark points are currently points you have in order to "train up to dark 2". You do not train for it, it's already what you are now. It levels automatically according to how many points of each side you have. so In order to use the blue crystals, you will need light side points in order to counter balance back.
  24. I didn't skip the side quests except for some on tatooine and it was a breeze until I got to the last few quests of my Act I story line. I was lvl 27-28 and my class quests were lvl 31-32 and killing the bosses I needed in order to complete it started to become hard. After that, it becomes apparent you need to be in at a close lvl to your class quests. You don't need to do the quests as long as you find other means to lvl.
  25. The primary thing to look for when purchasing your computer will be the video card. With your budget you should look at the 250-300$ range option. motherboard: any of the name brands like gigabyte, asus, evga will do. It shouldnt cost more than around 120-175 for all your needs. Look for processor type: LGA1155 & DDR3 memory. These days you can get one with SATA 3 (6Gps) & usb 3. CPU: Intel Core i5 (around 200-220$). You don't need an i7 the FPS difference is 1-2 fps. Memory: make sure it matches your motherboard type ex: DDR3 (2133/1866/1600/1333/1066). 4 gb is enough, 8gb if you can fit in your budget. (you need a 64 bit OS if going over 4gb). good gaming memory will often be CL9-9-9-24. 30$ should be enough for 4gb, 60$ for 8gb. hard drive: you can get a good solid state hard drive (120-128gb) for 120-160$. This will speed up boot/load times. You should run windows + swtor on it. The rest like photos, videos etc can/should be on a standard hard drive. video card: I would recommend an nvidia 560 ti. You can get one from 180-220$ and will preform well. There's also the 6950 or 6870 from ATI which is in the same price range. This site will give you a rough idea of performance vs price http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html Power supply you can get a 750w (corsair, ocz, xfx) which is enough to power everything for around 80-100$ more than that and it's overkill. The rest is really up to you. The case doesn't matter, just remember to pick one without a power supply already if you're buying one. Most that come with the case aren't that good anyways. You can also buy an sound card but most on-board audio is good enough these days. That should give you a good gaming rig for under $1000
