  1. The guys & gals in my current guild are all cool people, but if I'm being honest I'd have to say that the interests of most of them don't really line up with my own very often. Most importantly to me is that I haven't really clicked with anyone yet. What I'd like to do is make a list of the things I like, and maybe some of you guys could steer me into a republic or imp guild to try out. P.S. I'm not looking to move all my toons right away or ditch my guild mates, I just to move one or two that I play fairly often so I can test the waters. Likes: (1) Ground PVP (2) Space PVP (3) Grinding low level toons (4) Crafting (5) Flashpoints (6) RP (7) OPS
  2. Thank you. The only reason I was looking at getting the Brutalizer gun right off the bat was that when I returned to the game I already had about 2K ranked comms. I Think I'll still get the Oboran then brutalizer gun THEN follow the rest of your suggestions with oboran set. Thanks again.
  3. I'm about to hit level 54, and I've got 2500 ranked coms. Should I try to save up for the brutalizer sniper rifle, or should I spread it around to get more items first?
  4. So, I quit the game a couple months after the big server merge. I came back, and just started PVPing, and I noticed that with the 1/2 & 1/2 Battle master & War Hero armor I'm rocking I'm shooting spit wads w& sporting Origami strength armor. Where do I go from here to get the gear I need to compete in warzones? Do I just have to ride out a few dozen matches & wait till I'm 55 to get geared, or is there somewhere I can go now to get properly geared now?

  6. I started a few new toons on west coast PVP server. If I find a cool guild I might try to migrate over 1 or 2 of my level 50 toons.
  7. Thanks for the linky. Reading it now.
  8. Off topic, but the wife and I are looking to move from the west coast to New Zealand. Is it true that NZ/Australia is where the internets go to die? I've head that its shoddy, and limited. I didn't even know the internet could be limited! Sorry, just has me worried a bit lol.
  9. Community. As in active guilds, servers with high-ish populations, open world PVP, and a lively trade market. Not even sure if my old guild is still active. If its not I may end up character transferring, or even starting over on another server that's more active.
  10. The things I enjoyed most when playing this game in order where. 1) PVP. I LOVED Hoth PVP, and even enjoyed all 4 of the available Warzones that existed when I played. 2) Storylines. Playing through the different class story's, sometimes more than once to see the decision based content. 3) Space. I just fracking love space. 4) Crafting/selling 5) Group PVE content.
  11. I posted this under general discussion, but thought better of it after seeing this forum. *********************************************************************************************************************************** So, I started playing SWTOR at launch and left the game a few months after the first big server merger a while back. I'm looking to get back into the game, so I had a few questions to ask the current vets. What's the community like these days? With the added content is the game as repetitive as it was when it first released? Should I just try picking up my old level 50 toons, or would you recommend I start over to get a better feel for the new game?

  13. Thanks for your perspective. I hadn't really thought about buying a few smaller items as I kept focusing on which big purchase would be best. I am probably going to get roped into helping my guild with HM's & Ops with this tank since we've pretty Healer/DPS heavy, but primarily I stick to PVP.
  14. Wow, obvious troll is obvious. Seriously though this is actually my 4th L50 (see the other 3 in my sig) that I've primarily PVP'd with. Nothing in this post was about QQ just curious for some other takes to make sure I'm taking advantage of the situation as best I can.
  15. So, I'm looking for some help to settle an internal debate. I'm abut to hit L50 on my BH Tank I'll have full ranked/WZ comms when I do. Last time I hit L50 on my sniper I got the WH weapon this time I'm thinking about getting the BM chest pulling the augments for leggings then getting the WH chest. I was thinking that this way I could "get more bang for my buck" however I like having that ****** weapon right away. Any advice?
  16. I am in the Lethality tree, so I can't give yo marksmanship rotations. You're rotations should vary depending on the health of the opponent, but here's my full health opener for Lethality spec. I always open with shatter shot (20% armor reduction for EVERYONE) then corrosive dart, corrosive grenade, weakening blast, then Cull (notice its about setting up the big hit) If they are still up then series of shots, Laser+Ambush, then take-down should do it. I can usually drop a healer, or decently geared tank with just that set. This by itself should also yield you close to 20K damage by itself. Another way to get a lot of damage & probably get yourself killed at the same time is to charge into the midst of a big fight drop in to cover+entrench+ballistic shield then drop orbital strike on yourself+everyone else in the area. You'll need to use all your other defensive cool-downs to stay alive long enough for orbital strike to complete. Doing that will usually yield the medal for 2.5K damage in 1 shot and if your lucky about 40K damage (if you have it specced for the extra 3 seconds) You'll also be targeted by EVERYONE, but you'll be reducing damage for your team by 20% and landing some heavy hits.
  17. It seems to me that what they really need to do is make people want to play tank spec in tank gear in PVP i.e. allow shielding to work on ALL attack types. I think then you'd see a lot more tanks in tank gear to support what the build is meant to do.
  18. Is ther any way in PVP to be interrupted on channelled attacks while in cover? To suddenly find yourself being knocked back, or stunned while you're only 3-5 seconds into entrench? To have channelled abilities interrupted while in cover + entrench? Keep in mind I'm not talking about another sniper removing me from cover THEN these things happening. Just them happening. I run a top end machine & only see these things (which most people, even CSR's try to tell me is lag ) happening against a specific guild premade groups, so it has got me thinking...

  20. "That Guy" isn't someone that I find annoying. To me its more like when I'm at work. Of course I know everything that I have to get done that day because I do it every day, but my boss comes over anyway & says... "Alright team we're going to do X then Y then Z." I don't find that offensive or belittling. I just shrug my shoulders & get it done in the order presented because I know that now my whole group is on the same page. Then I just move on with my life.
  21. I don't know... I have a L50 champ (now some BM) geared Vanguard tank & a L50 champ geared Sentinel. I actually quit playing the Sentinel about 20 WZ after 1.2 because it no longer fits my play style & have been VERY successful with my Vanguard tank. I don't know what OP is talking about (Re: the team with the most Melee wins) my teams win WAY more often with me playing my tank than when I was Melee Sentinel. Keep in mind I was usually in the top 5 at the end of the match in medals on either toon.
  22. On a PVE server its not so great though. I'll run around flagged for PVP only to have a full group of unflaged people gather around me, follow me for a few minutes & wait for me to attack or interact with something then they all flag & gank me lol. You are right though chance 1v1 fights are great.
  23. Perhaps what he /say to the guy wasn't the problem. I /ignore a player for hounding me with /say during a match. Then this guy made a republic toon to be able to talk to me about how OP/easy-mode my class is (full tank spec Vanguard lol) and proceeded to tell me if he met me in person he'd choke the life from me. I didn't see this guy in PVP at all for a few weeks, so he might have been banned *shrug* I'm sure he told his friends he was just trash talking & didn't include the rest of what he did/said to his buddies.
  24. Also there is a medal for passing for the score.
  25. People always appreciate protection when your helping them survive/win the game, but it is the most forgotten stat once the match ends & you hit MVP voting time. for instance I can rock about 150K damage & 30-140K protection plus be in the top 3 for medals on both teams & get no votes while the guy with 230K damage, no healing, and a few more kills gets 2-3 votes. BTW this wasn't meant to "toot my own horn" merely to illustrat that while everyone here talks about how important it is not many out there show it. Remember that you get what you pay for & in PVP MVP votes is the best way to encourage a desired performance.
