  1. Exactly. All i want are answers to the salient questions i and other customers have, and the reasonings behind those decisions regardless of if i like the answer or not. A regular two way conversation between those making, and those playing the game.
  2. Thing is tho, when Georg posted, it was at length and he posted his thoughts and views. People agreed or disagreed, but there was communication. Having devs like georg showed that BW had people who were passionate about what they were doing, and gave us as customers an insight into why they were doing what they were doing. Thats whats been missing, and likely to stay missing as Georg has jumped ship.
  3. Thats the point. If there is not interaction on the games forums/dev tracker between the community and the devs then there is nothing to report, 3rd party site or not. swtor is hugely lacking in communication so i dont even bother looking at 3rd party sites because if there isnt anything in the dev tracker, then what can a 3rd party site possibly tell me?
  4. i'll give you an example. yes it involves wow, but stick with me. i want to know whats going on? i go to MMO Champion. forget that its a third party site. Realise that the front page is covered in blue posts from devs answering questions from the community - and lets be clear, its not crap questions about why cant we have pink hair, a lot of it are direct questions that people may not like the answers to, but the devs answer anyway, bluntly if they have to and directly opposing to the poster if needs be. i walk away after having read it, and while i may not agree with that dev's viewpoint, at least i a) know they are not afraid to answer relevant difficult questions b) know that while they may not agree with my viewpoint, i now know theirs and have an idea of what to expect going forward on that issue. The fact MMO champion is even in business is because there is always stuff to report, always blue posts to copy paste for my reading pleasure. If the devs didnt communicate, then MMO champion would simply be like torhead - a data mining site that tells me something once in a blue moon when i want to know where an item drops. I was hoping the dev tracker for swtor would be an in house version of mmo champ, where each day at work i could log in and read what topics people had been discussing with the devs/community spokespeople. No joy. edit- its laughable to even call it a dev tracker - there is barely anything to track. it should be called weekly and ad hoc maintenance tracker.
  5. QFT. This guy gets it. At a time when the game was already on shaky ground, there was this new hope, when the team came out saying 'we're gonna do things different, we got a new plan, a new team, we gonna tell you all about them and they gonna be here to interact with you loads more than before' tumbleweed. F2p announcement. tumbleweed. 'hi guys! we're back! and we got a NEW new plan. we gonna communicate more, tell you about us more, and be here to interact with you!' wait wot. wasnt that the old new plan? the plan that then went on to deliver even less comms than before? As the above guy said, sorry mate, but i simply have stopped caring now, so while you may profess to having this grand li'l scheme to communicate with me, i cancelled my sub a minute ago, as GW2 is coming out and i have lost patience with swtor's lack of content, lack of communication and lack of direction other than to nickle and dime me by introducing a cash shop that i highly suspect will make the game pay2win after the first few months to make up for the million subs you lost. I guess this post also falls into the new ban hammer remit as i havent posted any constructive ways you can improve, but hell, if you need me to tell you how to improve then thats an even bigger problem you got there mate.
  6. well F2p announcement aint great. as someone above said it could go well or could be horrible. The spin on 'more frequent content updates' sounds nice, but well, mixed feelings really.
  7. Not convinced the number of people signed to a 6 month sub is a very significant figure. Regardless, yes it will be interesting to see their definition that accompanies the figure given.
  8. They want to know so they can anticipate if the shareholders will panic, which will likely lead to less funding, slower content and move towards free to play and micro transactions. People need to stop with the whole extreme ends of either fan boy head in the sand, or doom game is dying. Some of us just want to see what direction the future of the game is going.
  9. Alternatively, I could just be a paying subscriber enjoying what I am paying for who is curious about the future of the product?
  10. As I understand it, if a shareholder asks them for sub numbers they are legally obliged to answer, and given all the previous calls have yielded a number I'm sure this one will too.
  11. Ahh ofc my silly eu brain, forgot about the time difference. I'm curious, that's why!
  12. Anyone managed to dig these out yet? I'm at work and so far the power of Google hasn't yielded any results and I'm interested to know what the tor sub figures have fallen to since the last call. If anyone finds something could you kindly post a link here?
  13. yeh this makes me laugh too. there was a shake up, a blog about being more communicative with personal bios etc and about 1 week where there were yellow posts everywhere and mingling. Then silence. Since then 2 rounds of layoffs and no word from BW with what is going on. I dont see how anyone can put a positive spin on this. 'they are working hard' blah blah blah, they could be working on the fountain of youth and it wouldnt matter, bucause if i as a customer dont know then sorry but im looking elsewhere to spend my 15 bucks. Thank god gw2 is out this month and if that sucks, then mop a month after. It just never ceases to amaze me that how much i hate wow i am considering buying mop because you take one look at MMO champion and you can sit there for an hour and read the interactions of the blues with the players. It builds interest, excitement and makes you feel like your input is valued. You just have to shake your head and think how did a game with this IP, with that budget, and that time spent making it, to end up like this.
  14. you're confusing sense of entitlement with expected level of quality from a product released for 2012. People pulling the 'instant gratification card', expecially those who have 'been around the gaming world for many years' should know better. This game was rush released without basic quality of life features i would expect from an mmo. 7 months later, and they have added some of those things in. It has improved the game. It hasnt retained its sub level tho because many see it as too little too late. With other competitors releasing their products with all the bells and whistles i would expect, this means tor is immediately on the backfoot and in my eyes, unlikely to recover. By that i dont mean it will die and close down, it will simply meander around a low sub level for the ardent swtor fans while the rest move on to gw2 and mop.
  15. good to see the dev tracker is updated with restart times etc. oh wait
  16. +1 interwebs for getting the demolition man references in both our posts.
  17. i appreciate its a server restart to fix the chat problem but please god, sort out your communication and do a server wide 30 minute coiuntdown to make it proper obvious. when i used to play wow, it was very apprent when a server shutdown was coming, here i dont even notice the apparent 5 minute warning we got this time (which is more than the no warning we usually get)
  18. I know i read it somewhere but was looking for a quick answer relating to other classes columi gear i could nick the mods out of. i'm in rakata/black hole/columi gear but my stats are a bit borked. i'm at 40% crit, 65% surge and 15% alac 559 bonus healing (base stats from character pane with only static buffs) . i appreciate my crit is probably 10% too high and my surge needs a bit more before dr and i could stand to lose some alac. I came back to swtor last week and started raiding on this toon as a healer and its very fun, been learning ammo management etc. just need to sort my stats out really. any tips would be appreciated. i've read through a few threads but the itemisation on the gear dropping is really weird/bad and short of spending millions of creds for mods/enhances are there other classses stufff i can nick with my unneeeded columi badges? thanks in advance chaps Gax
  19. I miss his to the point rants and no holds barred posts. I know BW had a culling of staff recently and i cant remember the last time i read a post from him. Was he one of the devs that had to fall on his sword? I hope not. Georg if you're still around give us a shout!
  20. would just like to thank you oh be one, was surfing the forums trying to find useful information like this, and tbh you made me aware of skills i didnt know i had or have ever bothered using. Gonna put these tips into practice. I was already doing ok in wz's in the kind of ninja role you describe but your posts will definitely make me a better pvper, so thankyou. is there any chance you could post your spec? im having trouble seeing which points to drop to reach upheaval?
  21. Well dont know about your server but TOFN now has a 20 minute queue, i guess this is primetime (19:35) and i have absolutely no problem with a queue that long, i'd rather play on a healthy pop server than a dead one. This is days after the inital transfers began and there were no queues wheni transferred on friday, so if thats any indication then pop is going up not down for concurrent users
  22. well i just managed to switch to belsavis (2) with 3 players on it and the delay has more or less disappeared. Whether or not you can take this that population on a shard has a direct impact on this performance issue or not i dont know, but its a bit weird that with 3 people on the shard instead of 62 i dont have as much of an issue. (its still happening just much more rarely and less noticeable). seriously thought this whole issue had been fixed months ago and now they have nearly completed the mergers if this is going to be prevalant again its not gonna keep me while they spend more months supposedly fixing this issue.
  23. Well something must have happened because since tuesday when i resubbed i wasnt getting any delay at all and then today, bam its suddenly very very bad, and actually getting worse throughout the day. If your on an as yet un merged server then it cant be due to server pops so something on there end must have snapped somewhere.
