Dear Bioware Devs & everyone past, present and Future who worked on SWTOR
This is a fantastic game which has really captured my imagination. I have played WoW for 6 years, my only other MMORPG, and while I loved my stout Moonkin, I never felt like she made as much impact on the game world as my Twi'lek sage has the short month I've played her. Elvwyr is now Level 48 and her epic journey has helped me unite disparate nations, helped make warring cultures friends that were once enemies and let me negotiate my way through many scenarios.
While some see the Consular/Sage storyline slow moving, I have enjoyed the ride thus far and will see it through to the end To me, the strength of the story-telling found in the main class quest is what's keeping me hooked to the game. I confess that I've never played any other Bioware game but I'm well aware of the reputation Bioware has with the strength of its story-telling in the games they make. The voice acting, music, sound effects and visuals truly help me enter a deep immersion with the game and I feel like I truly live Elvwyr instead of playing a character. Thank you for helping me become Elvwyr
I'm guilty of this too- wishing that I could add this and add that into the game but I am wholly aware that game programming is as easy as practicing Alligator Dentistry on un-sedated alligators ( thanks Terry Pratchett . My hubby has done lots of programming and I know that every line of code he adds to bring in more features has the potential to break other lines of code that could cause glitches or indeed things to simply break. Yes I admit being frustrated by limitations and glitches I've experienced in the game world but I keep asking myself- could I actually create a rich, vibrant and totally technically flawless game that has already been created for me? And when I answer no to all 3, I calm down
I agree with all the posters thus far- those who constantly express discontent in these forums do not represent the vast majority of SWTOR's player base. There are many of us who are having a blast with the game, living our very own Star Wars legacy. Sure I wish I could "marry" Fess and make Twi'lek-Trandoshian Teal Shark Baby children that I can bring up as well as have elements of Harvest moon mixed with my SWTOR but I know that there's already so much to explore and look foward to in this three month old game. Every game has its teething problems and must start somewhere and you know what, it's already a great start and I can't wait to see what comes down the road in time---but for now I'm loving and enjoying every bit of this journey. Oh and yes, 7 more class lines to experience- Paint me purple and call me one who's in for the long haul. The force is truly with us all. Live long and prosper And thank you for all you've done, and continue to do
