  1. While i don't agree that these are all that connected of issues, I'd actually be okay with this.
  2. Thanks for the insight, mostly. For those who just said "no" any actual engagement of my argument? The point i feel some people missed is that it's a tool that can be used abusively. Thanks either way.
  3. So I'll preface by saying that I've got two level 50s that are +1100 expertise. On the one hand I've got a pyro powertech which is pretty faceroll dps. On the other I've got a sorc healer. I'm not here to whine about class imbalances although I disagree with the numbers in a vacuum idea in principle. My healer can post numbers above 800k so power is not an issue, but I've recently quit playing him altogether because it's simply not fun. It is a lot more work than my powertech for example and it's not fun working twice as hard just to get on level playing field. I will preface one more time, HEALERS DO NOT NEED TO BE BUFFED. There are some playability issues but that is not my concern at present. My one request as a healer is that target marker flags be removed from level 50 pvp. Matches will generally run like this: Pre-Kill me Sign=Hey this fun, I’m keeping people alive, oh damn I just got teamed up and died or I was spamming too many heals, ran out of resources and died. With a Kill me Sign=as a light armor healer, I’ll generally get nuked in a matter of seconds. I’ll get singled out in a crowd that’s moving from flag to flag. Lastly, my numbers will suffer greatly as i'm often targeted the moment i leave the spawn. No one likes dieing 15+ times. Personally I will mark healers asap and post in ops chat to prioritize targets. I can’t imagine it being fun for them either because even the most untrained players can tab over to a giant kill me sign. It is my opinion that this is where a large number of the complaints about healers being underpowered come from. It seems that most of the community wants to just yell L2P at these new players without even thinking about the issues. Thus I humbly present my suggestion: Remove targeting markers from level 50 warzones. 1) These markers are a crutch for uncoordinated and frankly untalented dps. Why do healers need to L2P when dps does not? Is it not more competitive/challenging to have to name healers and talk to other players to coordinate attacks? 2) This is an extreme disadvantage in terms of defense coordination. It is not only abusive against healers, but in coordinated pvp (it does happen every now and again, lol) a team could mark every player and then see across the battlefield how many defenders/attackers are at a certain point. While this doesn’t work when you can’t los or detect stealth, it still can be abusive. At this point, a fair argument is that, “this is only way our pug can take down a geared healer in a wz,” to which I say: 1) Pugs should not dictate the way the warzones are played. 2) 2 on 1 against a healer, provided that gear is remotely equal, should be and is difficult for any healer to deal with. I’m not saying that we auto-die the moment we are target by 2 players, but I can’t keep up heals on the group when even one geared mara has decided I need to die. However, I have a concession. Perhaps if removing target markers from warzones is completely unacceptable (I would like to hear why their removal would be detrimental), the target markers could show up ONLY when a player has already targeted a marked player (i.e. portrait only markers). This is not my preference, but any change would be better than the status quo at this point. This is mostly a letter to the devs, but i welcome any constructive comments provided that you actually read this post. /signed Kalister/Vicker on the Bastion
  4. All of this. Forget 8-man unrated warzones, that would destroy level 50 pvp. Queue rateds if you want competitive pvp. PUG rated warzones are coming eventually, read the dev tracker. There are problems with pvp, but they are not gear, warzone composition, etc. They have been outlined well by beerbaron, healing is off, ccs are op when used correctly and alderaan and nova coast have issues. Day one rateds my guild went undefeated except on nova coast, which is a map that imo highlights a lot of the flaws in pvp.
  5. If you read the whole thread it seems that hard questions will continue to get glossed over. /sigh
