  1. This is how it use to work. See people gave a game money then part of that money went to keeping things running and the other part of the money was because developers made things for the game. They did things other than mess around with balance to justify their existence. They then would do extra work and that extra work would be sold as an Expansion. Now EAware like some others went to a model where we give them money and they spend the majority of that time making more things for us to give them money for.

I give you money and you give me more things I give you money for. :rak_02:

Now that we've given them money and they actually gave us things for it. That is how this sort of transaction is supposed to work. That isn't free that is giving us some stuff that we PAID for.

  2. Something I find hilarious about some of these things. People will say that they love things like "Hard" modes or PvP for the challenge and yet when you finally get down to their ultimate goal it is generally not about the challenge, but what reward they can get over others.

If the challenge isn't worth it then don't do it.

  3. This is new right?

Previus to the latest update, if you had an armor set, or part armor set, in one of those little boxes you could right click on the box and it would allow a little preview box to pop and let you examine what was in that box without binding it to your character. this meant that you could hit the little x in the corner of the preview pane and let you leave the few items in the compact box unbound

NOW, when you preview the items, it binds that box to your character and so you have to remove the items from the box and wait for two days before you move all the individual items to the character you want to send it to.

This is not an improvement for players. Please can Devs explain the reasoning for this if it was an intentional change.

I have a lot of cool armor sets in boxes yet to be used and which I may want to preview without having to refer to the collections pages. Is there any chance that this change might be reversed any time soon?

    Thank you for reading.

I had it happen some time before KotFE started.

  4. To be fair, this is hardly exclusive to SWTOR. It is, after all, the internet.

When I got my computing science degree, I didn't bother with any game development stuff, as I knew how well I'd be treated by both companies and consumers. I actually remember a Bioware (from the Bioware Edmonton office) presenter telling us all that the only way to survive game development is to love computer games with a ridiculous obsession, because the job itself had long hours, unreasonable deadlines, low pay and poor working conditions.

Not to excuse the onerous behaviour of people on the Internet, but the devs knew what they were getting themselves into.

You can't please everyone, but you do decide how big of a target you put on your back.

  5. It is all bull. They keep trying to force PvP because it means we keep each other busy and they can pull back development some. However the greater majority haven't cared about PvP which is part of why the PvP servers have always felt the affects more with the population highs and lows when they've driven people off. Adding the two together on the same server does exactly nothing. You still can't play together if you're in different instances any way so how exactly are friends playing together? PvE has to move to a PvP instance or PvP has to move to a PvE instance and if PvE wanted that they would already be playing PvP. And the first time it messes up and they take their lazy time to fix it like they have with other things, that is when the nail will be in the coffin.

The games biggest problem is the developers themselves and has been that way sense beta. They see only what they want to see and hear only what they want to hear. However like with everything else it will be blamed on the market, lack of player interest, or any place else they can lay blame but on themselves.

Sorry but this change makes about as much sense as trying to sell ice cubes to a Eskimos.

  6. A new incredibly randomly and OP as hell faction suddenly invades the galaxy while our characters are in a coma, making the Jedi, the Sith, the Republic, the Empire, and every single accomplishment our characters made either completely pointless and irrelevant.

Not to belittle your post, but you do know the who premise and half the stories in TOR do that very same thing to KotOR. They didn't care the first time I'm not surprised they didn't the second. When you get a bunch of your people from a failed MMO it's not surprising how little they care or are cognitive of what is going on. I've laughed at many streams where the devs didn't know about bugs since beta or restrictions that have been in the game for almost as long.

    Edit: Finished my thoughts.

  7. The Heroics on the planets are significantly better for money now. Make sure you do the bonus quest, if there is one. At 65 they are giving me more than twice what the dailies did. And the quest turn-in gives about double of a daily as well.

Thanks I'll check it out. I didn't even think about trying them. With them weekly they would almost have to be worth more to be worth it.

  8. The stats are changing though that is why they said all the new stuff is going to be better and the archive only stuff is really only for appearance. It wouldn't matter if the schematic were switched to legacy they will have useless combinations on them. I'm sure they are going to totally drop anything we have now that doesn't have an appearance.

Early Access Artificer here. I've only really crafted for myself and my friends, but I've spent millions that I could have spent on rare items or on getting my small guild a stronghold. It was worth it though at the time, but now they are taking that all away. As I said in the official discussion I feel like I've been flipped the bird.

  9. That's just terrible...how dare they make content relevant!

They are not making content relevant, but required for crafting the best gear. And if it was FUN then people would play it. That's a novel idea in a GAME maybe if things were made FUN they wouldn't have to make content relevant.

Or just do the simple and right thing - leave the schematics on the characters that have them in the archive section.

With the stat changes though the schematics are useless(save for appearance). Why they are going to all new ones as it is. The right thing would be to let the crafting professions keep what they can craft and make useful things to fill in the gaps instead of just shuffling things around.

  10. I think I've just be officially flipped off. I've spent all that time and credits that I could of spent on buying things to have the one thing I could share with all my characters Enhancements taken away from my Artificer and given exactly nothing in return. I can be happy with hilts that only a few use and crystals that are useless because of cartel items.

Yep, I've seen that gesture before.

Edit: Oh and how is it simplified to have to, as per your example, craft 4 items and buy 4 items to craft a single item. That comment is just as much an oxymoron as was removing options from the skill tree creates more options.
