  1. That is a theoretical situation that is extremely unlikely to happen. You are putting it up to chance that someone within 4 seconds of your last shot will kill the target. Do you realise how fast 4 seconds passes? And I don't see why anyone would drop off a target at 99%. The amount of skill required to time your shots so you don't do 1% too much is incredible.. Noone will do it in practice.
  2. I think you missed the point of this thread. You are quite entitled to attack any ship you see, in fact it is something you really have to do. But that doesn't mean you should get the kill count.
  3. I doubt things will turn up like that most of the time. You have to consider both hull repair and shield regen. If you do 51 damage to get it to 49 shield+hull, they regen say 20 points of shield and someone takes them down to zero. In this case, you do 51, they do 69. In addition, when I said 60 seconds, that is purely a random number. The developers with their stats will be able to select a shorter more suitable time period. If it was something like last 10 seconds or even 5 seconds, this will no longer be an issue. In fact 5-10 seconds should be the period. It is enough time for any "good" player who wants to claim the kill to do enough damage. If they don't do enough, it simply means someone else is more deserving of the kill.
  4. How do you deal with 4+ gunships taking potshots at the same time? There just isn't enough places to LoS them. LoSing one puts you in the view of 2 more.
  5. Are you blind? Did I say I care? Did I not just SPECIFICALLY say "They can do what they want"? Or do you perhaps skim over everything people write in a hurry to rebut their post? I simply put up an idea that JS users maybe at a disadvantage.
  6. I suppose they can do what they want, but unless they take out mouse controls, joystick users will be at a disadvantage.
  7. When the target is 15k distance away, it is incredibly easy to land a shot on them, no matter how they maneuver. I only tried gunship 2-3 times and yet get 20+ kills every time with 60-70% accuracy. Might be because I play sniper in other games.. don't know.
  8. The GSF is basically a first person shooter game with a star ship skin on it. I find it very hard to believe someone can achieve the same level of accuracy with a joystick as they would with a mouse. I've seen "great" players on Xbox playing shooting games with a game pad but their reaction speed and aiming is way below that of a PC player with a mouse.
  9. I don't think that better equipment means better performance for this game. I've seen computers cost $2k+ to build and yet runs the game worse than a computer worth $800
  10. Yes, you are 100% correct and that is exactly what the Kill count means in the current scheme. However, with the change I suggested, kills would no longer be based purely on luck with "any clueless moron" being able to get the kill count. Also, i'm pretty sure some people are misunderstanding my intent, like this one. I'm not saying chasing kills is what you should be doing, as that will not win the game for anyone. What i'm saying is that what someone puts effort towards should be credited to that person. It's like saying only one person gets objective points and it's whoever got to the node first or last. It simply isn't fair. While a kill count does not actually mean anything, it's a "reward" for your effort, just like any of the other columns on the score board.
  11. Dell 17r SE laptop about $899 I7-3630 8gb ram Nvidia 650m Runs the game on ultra with no lag (40+fps) in fleet or 16m ops.
  12. Can you give me a reason why having an E-peen is bad? This is a competitive online game predicated on killing others to prove your own skill. The kill and assist count is implemented for a reason. If you are happy with zero kills each match whilst doing the most damage, that is your own opinion and you are entitled to it. Do not interfere with mine.
  13. This would also combat the problem of people purposely killing themselves to avoid giving away a kill. And this isn't something some people do by accident. I've seen people with 40% accuracy and 10 kills in a match, turn and boost in a straight line towards an asteroid when I have a missile locked on and chasing.
  14. I think the kill should be awarded to whoever did the most damage to the target in the past 60 seconds or so. It is just frustrating to chase someone for a minute, get their health down to 15%, and for someone else to come and get the killing shot.
  15. Has anyone had problems with ping decreasing your accuracy? I have about 250-350ms ping and I find it very hard to hit things, even if the are sitting almost still and flying away in a direct straight line from me. I was in this situation where a Gunship was flying away like that, I had the reticule lined up perfectly and was in range. The yellow numbers only popped up once every 1 second or so, and even after flying like this for 10 seconds, the gunship was still not dead and shields were not down. Ive had other situations too where ships health drops so slowly but the yellow numbers pop up very rapidly. This is in a huge contrast with other situations where the ships health drops to zero after 2-3 seconds of shooting and only 2-3 yellow numbers popping up. (Always used same wep so it's not like damage per hit increased) I really am at a loss for an explanation for this discrepency.
  16. It feels like this survey is rather useless. It appears most of the questions make you choose between a **** choice and a good one. e.g. do you want large scale pvp. Who would say no lol
  17. I am curious what the convention is on needing for tank gear if you are a DPS AC with a tank tree and sometimes tank.
  18. You have intentionally misread the intent of my post. I was correcting the assumption of someone that the general opinion was that you must be in what essentially is full obroan gear to queue for ranked pvp. Instead, I said what most people believe is that you should be in proper PvP gear before you queue, as seen in the example given by the OP where people were queuing in blue gear. To support this idea, I said that people should at least be in partisan/conq and not in levelling greens. However, I did not wish to list the thousands of possible gear combinations that should be allowed or not allowed in ranked PvP so it was easier just to say 2018 expertise.
  19. It is perfectly reasonable to play ranked for comms if you are in Partisan or Conq gear because that is not far off obroan. However, people definitely should not be queuing if they are in greens/leveling gear etc. The basic requirement is 2018 expertise.
  20. How can you make such a sweeping statement? Maybe not for you, but for many others.
  21. This has occurred 4 times to me so far. Each time the stealth player on the other team was from SnX
  22. I read your post and to me you don't seem to have "proven" anything. All you have done is expounded upon your point. The fact is, PvP and PvE are separate in the sense that what a PvP player does in terms of their gear has no impact on a PvE players gameplay. Bioware have made it very clear that PvP and PvE are separate. For example, PvE get alot more credits from their gameplay than PvP players do. Whilst the reason for this might be it is easier to BiS PvP gear, it it still an intended feature. They do not see the need to "balance" between PvP and PvE as to them, they are separate end games.
  23. How do you "see" someone use their ability? By the bar below their name showing that they are channeling?
  24. The point of PvE is the gear grind. Once you are done, there is nothing left The point of PvP is the player vs. player combat where every round is dynamic and different from the last. That is the major difference between PvP and PvE. In order for everyone to enjoy the combat, everyone must be on an equal footing so PvP gear grind really takes a back seat.
