  1. Quote that a guildy found on the forums: Biowares Official PVP Statement they obviously have no idea what pvp means to us PVP'ers
  2. this is the exact reason why companies dont like to listen to what the players have to say -- for the last week msot threads have been about adding lvl 50 pvp brackets thousands of people moaning about it. and now they announce lvl 50 pvp brackets , the other half of the player base pipe up and complain :|
  3. Before i start i would like to clarify this is not a post moaning about any class or any ability it is the overall pvp system and what there is to do. TLDR Version at bottom for those who dont like walls of text I know I'm not the only one thinking that end game pvp doesn't really have a point to it apart from valor rank or a good method of gaining a few credits quickly. There are only 3 warzones, one of which is annoyingly common (not mentioning any names ) - and from what i can see only one zone that would be classed as a viable pvp zone, even then its deserted most of the time and actually winning control of the zone doesn't grant that many benefits apart from increased valor gain for player kills inside the deserted zone. This is star wars! its empire vs republic! sith and jedi in epic lightsaber battles! why don't we have much in the way of pvp in this game, it has the potential to be the most competitive pvp seen in an mmo due to the base of the game - STAR WARS Now me and my guildies may have missed out a huge part of SWTOR pvp but from what i can see that is it. (if there is more please share ) What i think would make pvp much more enjoyable and competitive: Part A: A proper PVP zone on each planet (that is a republic and imperial hub) that would involve the capturing / destroying of specific objectives unique to that planet and the capturing of the zone would render it in some sort of 'lockdown' meaning that the faction that controls that planet controls it for a set amount of time (maybe 3 hrs) and after the time it can be fought for again with the previous winning faction in a defensive position or just straight from a centre point. This doesn't mean that the losing faction wont be able to quest on that planet it just means that the winning faction gains a benefit or two for the time they control it (maybe a valor/commendation increase in planet specific warzones (explained below)and on the planet from valor kills) Part B: A warzone specific to each planet (like currently we have Alderaan) in which the players battle for an objective whether it be to destroy power generators in a Hoth warzone or to capture zones on a Tatooine warzone. This would add a lot more variety to which warzones you get when queuing and means that there most likely wouldn't be one warzone cropping up again and again on over populated servers. In addition to my previous point about benefits of locking down a planets pvp zone - this ties in perfectly with these planet warzones because if your faction locked down lets say the alderaan zone then that faction would gain a benefit in that warzone(it wouldn't be any benefit that increased dmg or reduced incoming dmg- something like valor increase) which means that it would benefit you to lockdown as many zones as you can because you gain from it in all aspects of your pvp. Other ideas: *big space pvp battle with guild capital ships and chance to capture opposing spacedock *huge base sieges that would take a couple of hours and grant access to a shot at a siege on the the opposing base if you have any ideas about how to make SWTOR pvp much more competitive and actually have a point feel free to post below and i may add the best ones to my op if this thread takes off TLDR Version: SWTOR pvp doesn't really have a point - we need more pvp zones with objectives and more warzones to make end game pvp feel worth doing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i did my best to correct any spelling or grammar errors in this post but i may have missed a few - I'm only human thanks for reading my ideas and i would love to see what you have to say on the matter also if a dev reads this some info for what is to come for pvp wouldnt go unloved by us PVP'ers:D:D:D
  4. u do realize that blizzard will find someway to put pandas into star wars after a couple of years when they run out of stuff to do
  5. tbh i find that advanced classes that have a tank and or healer spec available to them have an advantage over just a pure dps AC (sniper and marauder) because they can heal and protect to get the extra medals where as a sniper or marauder can only dps and do objectives
  6. they are mirrored exactly - i looked at the talent trees the only difference is the names of abilities ! republic are just bad by the sound of it
  7. this is star wars - if that happened i would never play PVP until its changed back why on earth would i want to play along side my enemy - there mayaswell not be factions if this was to happen
  8. is any1 else finding that in the lvl 49-50 mission tab on underworld trading there is only one fabric and one metal mission that are both moderate yield and the rest are rich companion gifts? its making the tier 6 metals go for 10k a piece on GTN
  9. whenever im in combat it seems to automatically go to 'pending' in the top right so i am not having a problem with it -
  10. TRACER MISSILE SPAM -- theres your tactic
  11. did any one else have issues with GAME UK withholding preorder codes for at least a week before issuing them? - i am only bringing this up now as i realise even though i preordered on the 21st i will most likely not be in until Thursday due to entering my code in on the 28th because i didnt get a code for a week. does any one else find this appalling customer service?
