  1. Bioware could try removing DPS from the trinity. So there are only tanks and healers, but with dps level of damage. Not sure how that'll impact pvp... but that solves the lack of tanks. And heals. Because now you are either tank, or heal.
  2. Perhaps the role of DPS should be removed. From now on, there are only tanks and heals. How good you tank, and how strong your heals are, is completely dependent on how much damage output you can pump out.
  3. I thought TSW is still dependent on the trinity? It just has a ton more ways to build a tank/heal/dps using their ability wheel compared to conventional talent trees. Hybrids (or do-em-alls like GW2) are only useful when solo-ing in TSW.
  4. They could introduce different set bonuses that buff different abilities in different ways. Kinda like customising your character. eg. 2 Guardians have roughly equivalent stats in PVP gear but my Force Sweep leaves a DOT while your Plasma Brand DOT time is shortened to 6 secs (LOL Vigilance Guardians should know this joke )
  5. That is the last Jedi Knight story quest fight on the starter planet Tython.
  6. If you've bought it, you've bought it. The unlocks are permanent, unless specifically stated (like the WZ, FP, Ops passes). The only question is whether you bought the character-specific unlock, or the account-wide unlock (for applicable unlocks like hotbars and such).
  7. You are a saint! If you do go ahead with this idea, please inform which server you are on
  8. Agreed, ping to the APAC servers is (roughly) double that to the West Coast servers. It'd be great if they moved the servers to SG instead, it's more centralised, so everyone in APAC benefits instead of only AU/NZ (pipe dream).
  9. As they say on other f2p games: Wait for a sale.
  10. The only reason for that is that Tanks/Healers have (typically) more responsibility to handle than a DPS player. I'm sure if Bioware changed their fights to make their encounters: 1) More static for tanks (just stand and tank, your aggro rotation is all you need to worry about) 2) Less triage for healers (just stand and heal the tank, aoe heals for dps is smart and automatic) 3) More complicated for dps (run around and activate stuff which will make the fights easier, blue ground fire all the time, random damage buff locations/mechanics) There would be a lot more tanks/healers. Of course... this might not be a good thing either. Some tanks/healers like having to deal with more responsibility. You can't please everyone.
  11. I had bad connection to The Bastion over the entire weekend, jumping from 400-1200ms all the time. The only time it stabilised was after Sunday 7pm (GMT +8), where it fell back to what I've been getting pre-f2p (200ms).
  12. You: Sage/Sorcerer, or Commando/Mercenary GF: Shadow/Assassin, or Vanguard/Powertech Leveling as a duo, you will most likely steamroll through the content rather easily, so just pick a healer companion and maybe another damage companion.
  13. I would suggest either of the Force-sensitive classes, because their resource management systems are the easiest to understand. Knight/Warrior: Use basic attacks to gain resource to spend for more powerful attacks. Consular/Inquisitor: Your "mana" bar recharges at a constant rate (at low levels), so just use your basic attacks in between to not run out of mana. Both the Agent/Smuggler and Trooper/Bounty Hunter have variable resource regeneration rates (and cover for the Agent/Smuggler) to manage, so it's slightly more complicated for the absolute beginner to pick up. But feel free to experiment, the point of the level-based system is to progressively hand out abilities for you to use, so you don't get overwhelmed.
  14. I would recommend you put your points: Cover Screen 2, Steady Shots 2; Marksmanship 1 Ballistic Dampers 2; Precision Ambush 2 Send Kaliyo in, then open up with Explosive Probe, Ambush. Snipe when needed. Use Frag Grenade as a quick knockdown on the weak mobs. Things should die fairly quickly even with questing gear. That's been my experience so far. Edit: Also, don't be shy about using Debilitate, Cover Pulse, and the ranged mez (I forgot the name).
  15. I'd pay USD200 for a lifetime account

  17. I resubbed over the weekend, and haven't gotten my 200 cc for being a paid subscriber before Nov 15.
  18. Agreed, I'd pay USD 200 for a lifetime sub on day 1 !
