  1. So, I've been playing my Juggernaut tonight, and it's brought into focus the reason I stopped playing him (and my Guardian). It's a problem all the melee classes seem to suffer from. It's nearly impossible to play because you're being constantly or even CONTINUOUSLY crowd controlled by endless knocks, bounces, stuns and holds. I fought three Sith Commandos on Hoth who Force Choked me over and over for nearly 40 minutes. That's not an exaggeration. The only time I was able to move was when Unleashed was off cooldown, and once I used it, they would immediately reapply the hold. It began when one used the hold, and as soon as it wore off the second used it. When that wore off, the third used it. By the time that wore off, the first was able to use his again. This went on for FOURTY MINUTES. Tonight, I went into the Toxic Bombs heroic. Every foe I approached bounced me back. By the time I got close enough to him to attack again, the guy beside him would bounce me back. As I got close to the first one, HE bounced me back. Eventually, I jumped in to a group, where one bounced me back, and before I landed another bounced me back into the air, then the next one did the same, and the next, and the next. FIVE TIMES they juggled me in midair, unable to act, unable to even LAND. Eventually, I fell through the floor into the toxic goo. Because I had glitched through the floor, there was NO way back up, so I just had to stand down there with no way to escape or survive. Again, there was NOTHING I could do about it. There's no way to interrupt their endless pulse knocks, and no way to do anything once they've knocked you into the air. So, I need to offer a suggestion to remedy this. First, being CCed should provide a brief immunity to further CC. They knock me back, I'm immune to CC for a couple of seconds. Second, Melee characters, and ESPECIALLY Tanks, need to have some immunity at all times. A brief immunity (perhaps 3 seconds) should be added to one or two of their attacks (eg. Aegis Assault), and such attacks should be blockable (by Shield/Absorb or by Defense). As it is, playing a melee character just isn't any fun because you're CONSTANTLY being knocked out of combat. It needs to be addressed.
  2. I'd love to have some way to reset progress, if only because I love playing the romances, and my play of the Lana romance got broken because of some kind of bug. It's the source of substantial frustration to me. It would also be nice for some of my less played characters, because I simply can't remember who they ARE. That is, are they bad guys? Do they show compassion, or are they businesslike and professional? Do they flirt or are they respectful? Some of them I just don't remember anymore, and I can't start a NEW character because I'd lose all the stuff the originals have unlocked (eg. inventory and bank space, equipment, costumes, etc.).
  3. I've been trying to play my commando lately, and it forces me to reiterate my request for the devs. Please make the giggle an optional thing... Even if I could just turn it OFF. I tried turning down voices, but that didn't help, and I don't want to turn off sound entirely, as that would spoil the game experience even more. Please, please, please, please, please, please make the giggle optional.
  4. I looked there. It says practically nothing. I do remember a kiss while on the Gravestone, but I don't remember one before going to fight Arcann (I've been looking back at some youtube vids of the interactions). It's just taken me SO long to get through the story that I don't remember everything. Recruiting 4X stalled me for nearly 3 years as I loathe pvp, and recruiting him forces me into pvp. I'm really torn by this. The romance plots are in most respects my favourite part of the game. My character, being a Consular, really doesn't GET a decent romance plot, as the only character open to him is Nadia, and she's both uninteresting and is presented so late in the game that there's no time to get attached to her. So, I was counting on romancing Lana, as she seems to be the only other option (though, honestly, she doesn't really appeal to me all that much either). With 7.0 coming, I'd been considering restarting the character so I could play with the Jedi Knight "Origin" (meaning he'd play the Knight story with the Knight companions, including the Kira romance), but using the Sage "Combat Style" (advanced class). However, this character has been around for the better part of a decade, and I really don't want to lose everything he's acquired and unlocked over that time (eg. collectibles, rare equipment like the Revanite Lightsaber, cartel items and unlocks like inventory and bank space and so on). This means I have only two hopes for this character. First is that there's another romance possible somewhere. Second would be that they let us reset characters so I can play him through the Knight story with the Sage abilities.
  5. I should say though, I'm not entirely sure the plot IS broken. Is there a way to find out? I would have thought such things would appear in the LOG, but that's crazy talk.
  6. Well... this ticks me off. I've gone something like 7 years with no romance plot for this character, and when I finally get a decent romance story to play it BREAKS? Unrecoverably? This ticks me off a LOT. I hope they plan on implementing some kind of a reset mechanism when 7.0 goes live so I can start over without having to discard this character with all his unlocked items and perks.
  7. Something I've noted is that if I call up the Chapters list, I can go back and highlight chapters I've already done in Story mode. On the right side, the button says Grant Mission. I assume this means I can replay the mission? If I do, does it reset all the progress in subsequent missions (meaning I'd have to play them all again)? Would this potentially give me the opportunity to restore any broken romance options?
  8. Chapter 8 of Fallen Empire? I'm about to start Chapter 9 of Eternal Throne, and there's been NO romantic options at any point. At least, not that I remember. Am I to gather there's no way to fix this? I waited YEARS to get a viable romance going with this character, I'm going to be... distressed... if it's broken and unrecoverable because of a bug or something.
  9. Happening to me too... And I notice it's been MONTHS since this was brought up, and it's still going on. What's our sub paying for if they're not going to fix problems like this?
  10. Ok, so since my main character is a Consular, I don't really get a decent romance plot to play through, since Nadia is such a wet blanket and uninteresting (and 12 years old, yeesh). So, I'd been hoping to do the Lana romance plot, but it seems to have just stopped suddenly, and I'm not sure if I missed something or if it's going to pick up again later. I've done everything up to the Eternal Throne (right after Vaylin's defeat). Was there supposed to be romance options in there anywhere, or have I missed something?

  12. I've asked for this a few times, and with the changes coming in 7.0, I can see myself wanting to restart my Consular, but playing the KNIGHT storyline (the Consular story is meh, and the companions are BLAND compared to the Knight's). So, I'll join in by saying YES, I'd like this.
  13. I expected that would be the case. Too bad there's no way to reset the character back to L1 and start fresh (while keeping all the doodads he's unlocked). Like I say, I would be willing to lose all the progress, all the xp, and start fresh, if I could keep my stuff.
  14. I just had a thought that I wondered about... it's probably obvious, but I'm asking anyway. So, my main is a Consular. I prefer the Consular abilities and playstyle. However, if I'd had a choice, I would have preferred to play the Consular in the KNIGHT story arc. The story is just more appealing, and there's an actual romance plot with a character worth romancing (Kira). With 7.0, that choice will now be possible... but it's likely it would mean starting a NEW character... something I'm not willing to do. It's not the loss of xp or story progress, it's the loss of the various things I've unlocked or acquired over the years. So, my question is, will it be possible to change the "origin story" of existing characters, allowing us to play through the new stories? How would this affect the character as a whole, and story progress in general? Just kind of thinking ahead.
  15. I understand that. Really, ANYONE can be a bounty hunter, it's just that the class has always been defined by its gadgets.
  16. Being a bounty hunter isn't just being on the bounty hunter storyline. It's also the abilities related to the class... the missiles, the flamethrowers... the stuff we associate with the likes of Boba Fett. If we lose that stuff in order to get access to a rifle (which Boba Fett used...), then we're losing something critical to being a bounty hunter.
  17. I find myself disappointed, if this is how it ends up, but I can't say I'm surprised. It's the usual Bioware thing, giving us what we ask for by not giving us what we wanted. We'd love to be able to fly our ships. Hey, here's Galactic Starfighter, you can pvp in fighters! We... wanted to fly our SHIP... you know, to do cargo runs, explore, fight pirates, go and do what we want. We'd love to have housing, to put a little farm on Tatooine or Alderaan. Hey, here's Strongholds! They're instanced, and don't appear anywhere on the planet, and you can't have one for all your characters, they'll all use the same ones! AND they're so expensive you can brag about how much real money you gave us for the right to decorate it! But... I just wanted a little farmhouse, kind of like in Galaxies. We'd love to use whatever weapon we want with our characters, my Merc should be using a rifle. Hey, we're letting you use a rifle! Of course, your merc won't BE a merc anymore, but you can use a rifle, isn't that great? Sigh.
  18. I don't know why they would need to do all that much animation. A lot of animations already exist. For example, my Merc has the cone attack, Sweeping Fire, using 2 blasters. If he could equip a rifle, they could just use the animation from Suppresive Fire (from the Sniper). The same is true for other attacks (eg. Power Shot with blaster = Snipe with rifle). There might be some few attacks that would need new animations, but I don't see that being a big issue.
  19. I was afraid it would be this way. I don't want to play my Mercenary as a Sniper, I want to have my missiles and flames and such, but I would much rather use a rifle than dual pistols. That's all I wanted, I already HAVE a Sniper.
  20. So... I've been hearing a bunch of things about the upcoming changes in 7.0. They're of interest to me, because I have a few characters I would love to make some changes to, but I can't quite figure out how things are going to work. First, my Smuggler is based on Han Solo, and so is using ONE blaster, even though he's a Gunslinger. Will 7.0 allow him to use one blaster instead of two? Second, my Bounty Hunter is based on Boba Fett, and should be using a Rifle. Right now, he's a Mercenary, but only uses one blaster. My question has to do with how the changes will work. I gather they can choose from any advanced class (tech), but does that mean they would lose all the skills and abilities of their base class? So, for example, if my BH chooses the Sniper advanced class, does he lose all his Bounty Hunter skills and become entirely a Sniper, just wearing BH clothes and doing the BH story? Does he retain his BH base skills (things like Missile Blast) and gain the Sniper advanced skills only? How does it work? If he's going to lose all his BH skills, he's not a BH anymore, so what's the point?
  21. The thing is, a giggle is a personality trait, it's a behaviour. While a giggle might be in character for one person, it might not be for another. How our characters behave should be up to US. Also, if there MUST be a sound for these kinds of things (to denote a proc or some such), then they could use some other sounds, based on the gear being used. For example, when the Assault Cannon procs a bonus to the rounds (Hot Rounds, or whatever it's called), it could make a noticeable click sound like it's being reloaded... instead of having the character giggling like a fool.
  22. Way back in the day, characters would use their abilities in silence. Then, for some reason, many characters started to giggle like fools whenever they used certain abilities. Players hated it, and asked that the giggle be removed. It was. However, other players had liked it, so asked for it back, and it was restored. Those who asked for its removal in the first place were very unhappy, and asked for it to be made OPTIONAL, so those who liked it could have it, and those that didn't could remove it. It has remained. It was particularly bad for my Operative, who, as a cyborg, was supposed to be cold and emotionless. So, giggling his way through every fight was unacceptable. I recreated him as a Sniper, I hated it so much. My Commando, however, it caught in an unmanageable situation. I haven't played him for YEARS because of it. I'd really like to be able to. I originally put him on the Gunnery line, but that replaced Full Auto (my favourite ability) with Boltstorm, which I loathe the look of. More, that line has yellow ribbons and other effects flying around him all the time. I prefer MINIMAL effects, so that made Gunnery unacceptable. So I reset him as an Assault Specialist. However, now he's giggling like an idiot in every fight. That also is unacceptable. I could make him a Combat Medic, but if I do anything but heal, I'm out of power in seconds, and soloing becomes an unmanageable chore. Since I solo 99% of the time, it makes the character unplayable. So, I can't use Gunnery because of the effects. I can't use Assault because of the giggle. I can't use Medic because it's not solo friendly. This brings me to my request. It's the one that's been made MANY, MANY times over the years. Let us remove the giggle. Make it an option so those who want it can have it, and those that don't want it can remove it.
  23. Ah, this answers the question. This is the other way to get it, but only on the Trooper, alas.
  24. So, I've been away a while, but I've been playing free for a bit. I'm subscribed again, so I can ask a question. (You guys REALLY need a forum area where your free players can ask questions and get help.) So, I've been playing my Sage. He's in the Knights of the Fallen Empire story now, and has acquired Jorgan as a companion. I like continuity with my characters, so I wanted Jorgan to look like the Jorgan my Trooper has, so I've gone out and got him the same gear. However, the customization I need is Jorgan 3... which is only available on the Collector's Edition Vendor (or so I'm told), and I can't buy anything from the Collector's Edition Vendor. But, as I said, I already HAVE that customization for Jorgan, on my Trooper... which suggests I must have the Collector's Edition... but my profile says I don't... and I don't believe I ever did buy it. So where did I get Jorgan 3? Is it available elsewhere, or was it available elsewhere once upon a time, and is now only on the CE vendor?
