  1. Yeah, I never run anything but moderate missions for just this reason. I've found it's not been worthwhile to run anything but moderate missions since The Great Slicing Nerf ages ago. Every few patches I try running higher tiered ones, and the result is always the same - it's just not worth it.
  2. On further reflection, there's another possible variable: companions. There might be a higher chance to get particular types of missions based on the companion you send out. I'm going to start tracking mission difficulty, mission title, and companion sent.
  3. Very interesting. I am only doing the moderate missions. I wonder if the different tiers are skewed toward different types of missions. I don't have much playtime until next week, but once I am able to play again, I'm definitely going to do some testing and see what happens when running the different difficulties.
  4. Interesting. I don't keep track of actual numbers (now I'm going to start doing that though), but I am getting mostly bioanalysis missions.
  5. Why limit it to guild leaders/officers? Not everyone wants to join a guild, or lead one. That doesn't mean their interest/commitment to the game is any less. Many people, myself included, play this game with friends and family. Am I any less important because I prefer to duo with my fiance rather than lead a guild?
  6. I spared both, but only got Rathari. Although I did have weird issues with some of the NPCs referring to me as having killed Tremmel - same with Jaesa's master, come to think of it, I didn't kill him either but NPCs referred to me as having done so - so I'm not sure if my story bugged or something.
  7. That video is only applicable if you ONLY gain force points via your class quests. There are other ways to affect your dark/light side rating, such as diplomacy or running flashpoints (black talon is a great one for just point farming). When you max out one side, the points on the other side reset to 0. My maxed light character had a few thousand dark side points, but when I hit light 5, those dark side points went to 0, so I wound up with 10,000 light and 0 dark. So no, you don't have to worry about ending up stuck, no matter what you choose. Unless you don't want to work at grinding out the points to "fix" it.
  8. Not on my server. There's always a ton of the dropped missions sitting on the AH for peanuts. Like 1-2k per 340 mission peanuts. It's always so low I've been pondering just vendoring the missions I don't use myself. I cry inside at the idea so haven't yet, but ... they're just sitting taking up bank space. No one wants them. The exception is UT missions, but even those are pretty low. I can generally find UT missions on the AH for 5-10k.
  9. To be honest, I think ALL of the armor in this game looks like crap. There's like 1 or 2 pieces I like, and that's it. I've been spending the bulk of my time in this game hunting for good looking armor, and coming up short. The heavy armor has a lot of these weird pipes sticking out, medium armor has antennas stuck on them, or look like uniforms, and most of the light armor is just awful in terms of clipping with your hair. And then there's the tendency toward huge shoulder pads that look like gliders... I wish they'd make the social armor available in all armor types. That would help somewhat.
  10. I help people when I notice them asking. Keywords: when I notice The UI is so bad most of the time I don't notice when someone is trying to talk to me. Half the time, I don't even notice it when friends send me whispers. As for helping newbies - I've actually gone to the newbie zones a few times with the intention of helping people out, but each time have left almost immediately because I didn't want to wade through the disgusting and usually profanity-ridden conversations. If you want to insult people, insult the ones who make general chat unusable by filling it with racial slurs, insults, and profanity.
  11. Can we have this? Pretty please? I don't like the way most helmets look in game, that's why I have the hide head slot selected for my character. It's also why I'd like the option to turn it off on my companions, too. Vector looks so cool in the little mini bar, he's got a nice hood on, but the helmet overwrites the hood and makes him look like a weird football player in a dress, or some sort of escapee from a halloween party. It'd be nice to have a separate option, but even if the companions followed suit to what I've selected for myself, this feature would be greatly appreciated. I'm assuming this is doable, because the companions appear without helmets in the cinematics. Is it possible to enable this all the time? If there's a way to do it, and I've missed it, I'd appreciate anyone telling me how. Thanks!
  12. I get both light and dark relics from TH. I hate them, my inventory is full of them. But I definitely got both.
  13. I absolutely LOVE the female sith warrior voice. I originally wanted to play a sith assassin, but I find the female SI voice so horrible I just can't bring myself to play it. Then I tried the SW, and her voice was enough to make my SW my main.
  14. I felt kind of bad about killing Chance, he was really just a scared kid, but he messed with my head. Anyone who messes with my head dies. As I played through this, I said to my bf: This was just a job, but they made it PERSONAL when they played with my head. Now I'm killing all of them. I'm light side and usually let people live, but they had to die for doing that to me. But I feel a little bad about killing Chance, even so. My bf of course sat in the background cheering, the full dark side sith that he is. hahaha.
  15. Treasure hunting returns items far more often than slicing does. That is the issue. If slicing gave the mission drops reliably, I don't think slicers would be complaining so much about losing money. I know I wouldn't - I slice for the mission drops not the cash. But the mission drops aren't often enough to make up for the consistent cash loss.
  16. You're lucky. I did this too, and I'm losing 5-10 credits per mission on t1. When I don't lose money, I make 5-10 credits. So overall I'm bleeding out credits, because I lose money way more often than I don't. And I'm not even getting any missions to make up for it.
  17. More anecdotal evidence, but my nonslicing alt also makes far more money than my slicing alt. My nonslicers are all richer than my slicers. I lose more money than I make slicing. I decided to test it out with my new low level alt (to get a fresh perspective), and so far the loss is continuing - I am losing about 5-10 credits per mission. Sometimes, very rarely, I make a profit, but it's a 5-10 credit profit so it doesn't make up for the credit bleed. I'm having to send her money from my main nonslicer. If it's described as bringing cash... if that's all it does ... then it needs to make a profit. I'm not sure why people are trying to contest this. I'm keeping slicing just because I love to open the boxes, but most of the fun has been robbed away. I will say this: Pre-nerf, I hung out in the imperial fleet. I helped newbies, I bought silly things from other players - I participated in the community. I interacted with people. I couldn't produce everything I needed, so I used the money I made slicing to buy it from other people. Now, I spend my time in the world. I don't help out newbies because I'm not there to help them, and I don't buy anything from other players. I tried selling more things things instead of hoarding for alts, but my stuff doesn't sell (orange and purple gear, and mats). So I made an army of alts so I could have all the trade skills I needed and be self sufficient. I've essentially been removed from the community. I fail to see how that's a good thing.
  18. Yeah, I'm carrying around 2 sets of gear. I run around in light armor most of the time, then switch to medium when I'm doing heroic and other tough stuff. Most of my cash is going to maintaining these 2 sets, but I'd rather have medium gear that I like the look of. I wore the BT trench coat for a while, but it's started to wear on me because when you compare it to the other stuff, it starts to look rather low quality, in terms of visual detail.
  19. I really love these missions. So much fun, I'll sometimes just play them for my entire gaming session. Screw questing, blowing stuff up in nostalgic arcade style is fun.
  20. I've been going mad looking for armor I like for my agent. It's important enough to me that I'm shelving my agent for a while because I'm so bummed I haven't been able to find anything. Please give us some cool looking armor, Bioware. I love my agent, but I'm tired of running around in the equivalent of brown.
  21. Yeah, I saw that, but I'm not interested in it. It's cool that it'll be there for the people that are, but I'd rather make another character that's a guy.
  22. I'm the same way, always a million alts across multiple servers in games I play. I only have 5 so far because I'm having too much fun with the spaceship missions to want to work on new ones. lol I will eventually though. I'll likely end up with at least 3 imperial agents (an operative, a sniper, and a male so I can romance kaliyo), 2 sith warriors (I'm not so interested in the warrior, but I want to romance vette so I need my marauder and then I'll make a male), etc etc..
  23. I LOVE the space missions! If I weren't playing this game mostly with my fiance, I would happily do nothing but sit and blow stuff up in my ship while sending out my minions to craft for me. This is an awesome addition, my only complaint is I want more missions. :)
  24. We get emailed our game keys the 16th, you'll get your special stuff then if you plug in the code immediately.
