  1. It is a bit hard to not play with people in your own guild if a) us 4 are the only ones queuing on the pub side or b) there are 8 of us queuing at the same time. Those cases pretty much guarantee that we'll get multiple guildies on the same team. If that makes us bad people then..... I guess people can't play with their friends in a MMO and we shoud stop playing when our friends get online.
  2. I know this answer is pretty useless but it really depends on the situation. In a reg you can do whatever you like, though I do like having tank gear on for tanking as the job of a tank isn't to DPS but to keep other people alive, largely by guard swapping and taunting. And without a massive hp pool, guarding will result in you being dead with your guarded target following soon after. For ranked I in general like to run full tank too, though some people in my guild, including the highest ranked guardian in the game, are thinking about keeping some of the old set bonuses since the new one isn't exactly spectacular. Right now I'm using 3 different 2-set bonuses, the new and old tank 2-piece and the old dps one, which gives a 8% heal on guardian leap, which is massive especially with the reduced CD.
  3. Jugg/Guardian tanks have some of the best CDs and bring the best utility to the team out of all the tank classes. CDs: 5, including one that is basically a heal to full. UtIlity: The force push, guardian leap (which just got buffed), 2 hard stuns. tl;dr Jugg/Guardian= Best tank in PvP
  4. Was playing in an arena a few days ago and after force pushing someone and leaping to them I fell through the floor. Went out of combat and was stuck in a small area under the slope (?). Link to the screencap.
  5. Added stuff on Draxus (might need to do some editing later)
  6. Added 1st boss on NiM DF. I'll finish the ones for Draxus and Grob'Thok, which we've downed soon™ (hopefully before my summer job starts). I'll may add stuff on Corrupter Zero, which we're on now, before or after we down it since we have a strat that may work. Brontes will be added when we get there. Apparently there is a word/character limit to each post and I went over it , which made me go back and delete some truly irrelevant stuff from Pre-2.0
  7. Looking for people for 16 man NiM DF. Raid times are 8:00 - 11:00 Eastern on Wednesday, Sunday and Monday. We're looking for one rDPS. Whisper anyone from Rude Dudes or Rude Boys (Imp side) in-game or send Havok-leader, Stew, or Gary a private message.
  8. One of the things me and some people in my guild have been trying out is dropping, yes dropping, two aim augs in favour of accuracy ones. This allows you to drop one piece of accuracy gear/enhancement while still keeping above 100% accuracy. From what we've seen, the loss in main stat is offset by the gain in other stats, such as surge. Of course, this is up for debate and the way I'm doing things may not be the best way but it does seem to be less of a waste of stats, given that anything above 100% accuracy is exactly that, a waste. Come 2.7 the new gear will apparently let you only need one accuracy aug, making the trade-off even better.
  9. Added section in rotation for 2.7 changes, will replace current section when patch drops. Added To Do List.
  10. Finished Dread Council guide, just missing Calphayus now. Got a new mouse (the Logitech G600) and tried healing, with DPS gear, for Hateful Entity. The conclusion I reached from doing that is, at least for that fight, Commando healers are OP. On the 1st night, I was the sole commando healer and I blew everyone out, the highest I got on a run where we almost downed it was 4600ish EHPS, which is gross given I don't even know how to play the spec. So now I'm the guild's back-up healer and I got, almost a full set of gear last night, time to start practising.
  11. Did some editing, and added Raptus guide. I'll do the Calphayrus guide later (phases*2 makes it a pain in the a** to put down). Interesting sidenote: For Corruptor Zero, you can kill him before he jumps up to do his big laser (we did it last week with 15 people) but hilariously the 1st laser still goes off and the adds still spawn. In other news, I've got my mask from Hateful Entity and confirmed that I am bad at Assault spec. We now have the hardest content of the game on farm and will have to wait till Apr. 8 (aka When 2.7 is Supposed to Drop) to have new stuff to do. (NiM DF!!!:D:D:D:D)
  12. Someone was spamming stupid stuff. Now the post has been removed by mods so my reply is no longer relevant.
  13. I've been playing a commando since early access, I know. The only time they show up is when they want to tell us that our having heavy armour, lol, is why we don't need buffs. No harm in asking though, I think.
  14. /signed. Fully agree with this, there is no reason why FA shouldn't have pushback immunity. If there is some logic behind it could some dev please enlighten us?
  15. Added small note to Tyrans fight. Summary: hold back DPS at the start of the fight since Gunnery's initial burst is substantial. JimmyTheCannon has pretty much said everything you need to know. The only thing I can add, it's been forever since I levelled my commando, is that Mortar Volley is (slightly) OP when levelling, at least at low levels when a lot of the mobs get knocked down by it. Along the same line of reasoning, Plasma Grenade is also useful against groups since it can stun normal and weak mobs. Feel free to ask if you run into other issues/need advice, I'll try to help however I can.
  16. Did a bit of editing, will start finishing the guides to HM DP when I'm done with my 2 midterms and 2 essays next week. We finally downed Hateful Entity (the secret boss in S&V) last night and got the best title ever: The Eternal Warrior. As usual the issue was too much DPS in the start which screws stuff up. I might add a guide to it later, however it will have to be a rough guide as you have to play Assault for it and I suck at that. Fun side-note: While the Nightmare Pilgrim debuff you get after downing him says you take 200% damage sounds manageable it is not, since, contrary to what it says, it does not do just 200% extra damage, I died to a 400k AoE.
  17. Hateful Entity is hateful. Added guide to Tyrans. In other news, new computer=~500 more dps :D:D:D I guess the much reduced lag helps a lot.
  18. Added guide to Bestia (1st boss of DP). We've also started working on the Hateful Entity (secret boss in S&V) but atm we're taking a break and come back after the new year. In other news, playing SWTOR on max settings at 100+ FPS sure is nice
  19. Finished guide for HM DF gonna start working on DP soon.
  20. Sorry, should have linked that. It's from odawgg's merc dps guide. And more links (DPS on the y-axis and crit rating in the x-axis.) Keep in mind that these are theoretical numbers from a DPS simulation.
  21. Sorry, been a bit busy with finals. From what I've seen, the suggested values seem to range from 0 to 200-360, personally I haven't tested them but trusted sources seem to say 280 is a good spot.
  22. We finally got a decent enough group and finished Brontes, got the pet . I'll start adding stuff after I finish my hellish finals. As a side note, I'm getting a new desktop, finally updating from a 3 and a half year old laptop. Getting more than 5 fps in a fight should help my DPS immensely .
  23. The issue right now seems to be that, allegedly, the proc of IA "is" additive. i.e. if the 1st CB doesn't proc (55% chance), the second one has a 90% (45+45) chance of procing, thus making it infinitely more reliable than the CoF proc. This is from someone testing it, not statistically significant but.... If this is actually the case then, as someone said, BW screwed up the coding spectacularly. "If" it is a bug and not a feature , it should be fixed, which would be a nerf to assault. Or.... under the "it's not a bug, it's a feature" mindset, they could do the same thing to the CoF proc.
  24. Sorry about that. Adding it now. @Arc: Thanks for the list.
