  1. I'm currently a new recruit for this pretty awesome guild. Some points in their favor: 1. Guild chat is not out of control! Too many times guild chat gets just as bad as General chat on Dromund Kass. Instead, it's polite, tame and fun. 2. There's always someone around to do stuff with. I've grouped a few times with others in this guild and have found they are quite fun. 3. The application process, which helps both parties get to know each other, is actually quite fun. If you're looking for a nice, polite guild filled with nice, polite and fun people this is the place!
  2. I'm unsure this may be true. I've made choices in a few quests that seem like they had some though small impact on further parts of the questline.
  3. I tried to read through all the replies, but here's my simple question? The UI flashing is making me ill. I cannot play. I log on to chit-chat with my guild for a few minutes, then log off and watch something on Hulu. Will this be fixed within say a week's time or should I just save some money and put my account on hold?
  4. I'm adding my voice to those that dislike this change to the UI. It is too bright, while the button underneath is too dark. I am unable to see what is underneath. I'm sorry, but I am not a memory wizard with 1,2,3,4,2,2,4,1,3,2,2 in my brain. I actually look at my hotbar, buffs etc. However, since this change... I am finding my eyes turning away from this monstrosity and mashing buttons in whatever order. Suggestions: Turn down the brightness and contrast between the dark and light. Make it a radial animation instead of horizontal.
  5. I had the first printings, even the rare "mistake" ones. I have only a few of these left I found in an old box. Alas, not any of the valuable ones. Oh and woe was me the day my mom said, "I'm selling all of your Star Wars toys at the garage sale!" Millenium Falcon.... *cries*
  6. 41 here and work as an Order Analyst for a slot machine manufacturer. In 1977, I stood in line in a suburb of Los Angeles to see A New Hope. At exactly seven years old, I had my first and long lasting crush! Han Solo!
  7. I admit I am unsure what you're trying to say with the second part that you aimed at me. Please explain? As for the first part, we can never be specific in what is a violation of the TOS/EULA because we, as the players are not the final judge. The employees of Bioware/EA that have been given that power are. What we, (those that agree with the OP) are merely saying is we have the power to report behavior we may think is in violation. If it turns out that it isn't and the suspected offender is not found in violation, that's fine with me. I merely have the power to point it out, which is all I ever do. I also wanted to reply back to the last line of your post, about fighting for the freedoms we're discussing. Most certainly, Sir, you ARE fighting for many of our Freedoms and those around the world indirectly. I would never deny that. However, it is not the "Freedoms you've fought for", IE Freedom of Speech that I am having an issue with. It is merely, we believe some discussions and behavior are in violation of the TOS/EULA and we are exercising our right, as customers to report them. I am no judge of my fellow man. Never have been, never will be. None of us should be, really. I can only offer up my view to those that have the legal right to judge, Bioware/EA employees that have been granted this power to enforce the TOS/EULA.
  8. The post by the OP specifically spoke toward the fact that "bad words" do not offend them. What the discussion is and should really be about is the TOPICS discussed and in the manner they are discussed within General Chat. I will give examples: I have heard discussions of bodily excrement, the use of bodily excrement in intimate relations, intimate relations with animals, the death of people by tragic shootings, natural disasters, government oppression These are merely examples that I give for reference. These are the kinds of topics that definitely can be discussed in a civilized manner, as I attempted above to use better language to describe the references. However, most times, these topics are discussed in an offensive, desultory manner, with little respect for the victims. This is what I believe the OP was referring to. (If this incorrect, please correct me, OP.) This is not a discussion about "naughty words", however, I will indulge in a reply to your post below.
  9. This change I am all for! Just... not for me personally. I wanted my Trooper to have a nice male figure to partner up with.
  10. As a female trooper, I feel short-changed in the romance department. Do I seriously just get cat guy? I do admit his voice is smexy. I am finding it a rare thing, female troopers. And no, she isn't butch or a man-hater. She's.. girly-tough as I once described her.
  11. Judge much? I'm 41. I play about 4 hours on 4 out of 5 weeknights, depending on if I also catch up on an episode or two of my favorite TV shows. Weekends about 6 or 7 hours per day if no other activities scheduled. I am a homebody. It works for me. It also works well for my pocketbook. My significant other is also a gamer, so this works out just fine for both of us!
  12. Question: If you've progressed in a romantic way with Corso's storyline, does it then give you less flirt options with NPCs? I swear, before the beginnings of smoochies with Corso, I was able to flirt much more often with others. I mean, I hope this isn't true and that I still get the chance to make him jealous! On another note, like someone said earlier, I've tailored my playstyle to his company and find it hard to use Bowdaar. That's all I have now as I'm on Tattoine. I don't think I can change in the future either. What originally was going to be a snarky, rather dark side-ish character has been softened by none other than Mr. Corso Riggs and his sweetness!
  13. I really don't understand why it is so hard to just.... /party Do you mind if I need that for my companion? Party says: No, not at all! Go for it! /party Thanks a lot! And if someone says in the party, "I could actually use that." Then you click greed. WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR PEOPLE??? Do you dislike typing? Do you just feel everyone else isn't worth your courtesy? JUST ASK POLITELY! And yes, I'm yelling, because I feel like a mother yelling at their kids because they just can't understand, or won't understand after having it explained five times.
  14. I've only just begun the romance storyline with Lt Iresso on my Consular, but so far it's been awkward and a little... disappointing. I am loving what I've been hearing about Corso, I believe a smuggler will be next toon. Gives me a better reason to go to a Cantina for RP!
  15. Obvious troll, but I have to say... CAREBEARS UNITE!!! Yeah, that's right. I'm a Carebear and dang proud of it! I don't NEED to have my computer generated representation beat up your computer generated representation to have a good day! As to the OP, you're quite polite. I like that! And yes, unfortunately it seems that people like us who do not wish to participate in any Player vs Player action are having the choice removed by us due to programming issue they should implement. Until they do, I will just have to change my playstyle slightly. As important this is to me, and many others, I feel in time they will address it.
  16. On Horde, we called it Bluewalling. To us, a lot of Alliance did this. Very aggravating. However, Bluewalling was when a non-PVP flagged player attacked a PVP flagged player without flagging first. It was an intentional move, not unintentional. I am 100% with the OP. I find it highly intrusive to be on my own merry way, enjoying the game that I have every right to and accidentally hit another player who is PVP flagged. When I want to PVP, I queue up for Warzones. When I don't want to PVP I should not be forced in to it by unintentional actions, or the actions of others.
  17. As was said previously, Quesh is that 'wake-up call' planet. It surely was for me. At Athiss Station, those little pig-men hurt, and they hurt bad. I knew I needed to catch up in more ways than just gear. I spent some good amount of money for gear from the GTN - I improved the mods in my five pieces of moddable armor. I went back to Alderaan and Tattooine to double check if I could buy anything else with Comms. I then spent some money and comms on my go-to companion. Tharan. I know that sounds odd, a healer for a healer, however, I found that until Nadia, Zenith wasn't cutting it at killing things fast enough. I needed to do it myself. So Tharan kept me alive while I DPSed. Force Lift the strong, kill off the weak. Heck, on Quesh I soloed Champions with Tharan. Except for those Force Users, they hurt. As I've just finished Belsavis, I'm understanding the versatility of Zenith, Iresso and now Nadia. I've not pulled out Qyzen since Nar Shadaa. He's my mission mule unfortunately. Now that I have Forcequake, all weak (normal) enemies are this: Force Armor me, Force Armor Tharan, run in and knock them down. One will get the Holiday treatment, while I pound the others down. Strong, is usually just me. Two strong, one gets a Force Lift. Strongs with weaks, Force Lift Strong, take out the weaks then concentrate on the Strong. Elites, usually me, unless they are Force Users, then I have been using Iresso or Nadia. I have just finished Belsavis and will take some of the tips I see here about Zenith, who's been kind of ignored except for when I do Heroics with a Jedi Knight. Doc > Tharan sometimes. I am a Seer, and reserve my healing for 4+ heroics or FPs. Otherwise, I do some pretty good DPS. Hang in there, it's very worth it. And well, it is time to retire Qyzen. Your 'stable' of friends is so much more versatile.
  18. Unfortunately, I fully admit I lack the patience to do this encouragement myself. Therefore, I step away and remove myself from them. Some may view this as "bad", but it is best for me. I am glad though that there are people with the patience to give this encouragement. I would rather have more competent RP than, none at all.
  19. I am defending no one's immersion but my own. I dislike the word "attack". That was my judgement of said RP, and my answer to the judgment is to avoid it. If I were to "attack" it, I'd sit in the Cantina and tell everyone their RP sux! This is a discussion wherein I offered my opinion, not an "attack". "Attacking" someone for their RP is not my style. Mine is to avoid them and try to find what I am looking for from like-minded individuals. I dislike RP that is not to my standards. So I do not indulge in it, nor encourage it. You can call me elitist all you want, for I do agree with you. I have standards, like every other person would, I follow them. I still retain the right to offer my opinion in discussions. Just as you do yours, that I am I "attacking".
  20. There is no rule. The server description asks to "respect other's playstyle". We could go round and round looking at every single name mentioned here and seen in the game, however, it is not for us to APPLY these rules to the names and exact punishment. For those that wish to, we have the RIGHT to apply these rules and report the name to those who will bring punishment if necessary. To a previous comment of having immersion broken being game-breaking, or so upsetting: I find such things to be the bane of my existence as an RPer. I once quit RPing altogether, lost all creative spark. I wanted this game to help bring it back. Unfortunately, when there is an accepted "Windu" legacy allowed, and of course the horrid "peanutbutter" and "jellytime", I cannot take it. It IS immersion breaking for me. So instead, I report when I feel it warrants it in regards to the stated policy. I RP with only those I enjoy their RP, and avoid Cantina RP - better known as "hi, watch me emote how to drink this alcohol in multiple ways because I have no depth to my character". Thanks. I'll continue reporting, especially those like you who are so adamant they've done nothing wrong, but apparently can't even read the simplest of rules.
  21. I will take this as completely true and not an attempt at sarcasm. I believe in there is still good in people! You do have some offensive abilities, read all of the tooltips for each of your abilities. Saber Ward (I think!) you get by level 11, so this is useful when you have a major crit and pull from the tank. Pulling from a tank can and may happen, through no real fault of your own. It's really just a matter of knowing when to begin hitting the mob, and when to unleash. (You have several DPS moves that do increased damage - best to use these once the Tank has established his hold.) Try to attack the mob the tank is attacking. There is a caveat here: If a weak mob decides to zing toward the healer, you can go after it to pull it off. If a healer is getting hit, they have what's called pushback that slows their cast time on heals. This=Bad. The tank should go and get these mobs too, but sometimes, they can't grab them all. Do not kite a mob AWAY from the tank unless specifically asked to. This goes for any DPS. The tank will then have to run toward that mob to get ahold of them. (I believe some tanks have a ranged taunt, however, cool downs on said abilities may be down.) I personally, let the tank start with the first mob (or they may mark the primary target). Once they've hit them once or twice, I'll move in and begin my DPS. Follow the tank. When one mob is down, follow him to his next primary target. Above all, communicate! Let your group know beforehand that you are sort of new to this and any helpful (and POLITE) advice is always welcome. Never let anyone be rude to you, or insult you for ignorance, or inexperience. We all had to start somewhere! Good luck!
