  1. I quit warzones now because of the LFD tool... which pulls me from the Warzone I am in to the dungeon I have been queued for over the last 5-20 minutes.

I never randomly quit Warzones until this feature was introduced, but since I dislike questing in general and would rather do Flashpoints and Warzones.... well I have to do something while I wait for the new dungeon to pop. I'm not going to just sit on the fleet and entertain the trolls in chat all day when I want to run a dungeon. So I run WZs until I get a pop.

  2. Everything is OP OMG!

Seriously you bads need to find better material to complain about. Kill the sniper/slinger. If they are really a problem then MARK THE SNIPER/SLINGER! How is this hard to understand? Once they blow their CDs they are dead and they don't even have great defense CDs anyway because they are rooted for all of them except the useless shield.

  3. swtor pvp is so good that all the competitive gaming pvp websites gave it negative feedback..as well as professional gamers.

swtor pvp is so good that every gaming "pro" or "celeb" left the game...

swtor pvp is so good that it wont ever make into sponsored competitive circuits

swtor pvp is so good that people say its "has hard as a 4 button fps due to its IMMENSE depth"

swtor pvp is so good that there is still no "skill" measurement tool...( grinded team ratings are...GRINDED)

and did i mention the lack of depth?...i mean..u cant get more homogeneous then this...everyone ahs the same interrupts..stun...knockbacks..4 main damage abilities....and u barely...BARELY have to use keybinder modifiers(where in other games u cant play competitive with less then 30+ modifiers)

ohh and swtor pvp is so good that its the laughter of the mmo pvp market in every serious gaming comunity board.

swtor pvp MIGHT become "good" when the game becomes free to play...and by wtaching how fast subs are still going down..i would say that gonna happen by xmas! hurray

Why are you still here? You must be a terrible player to keep playing a terrible game. Misery loves company?

PS. Please list MMOs that are currently in the MLG. I will wait.

  4. Hmm... probably the best troll thread of the week.

For anyone that took this thread seriously without clicking the link.... That is the reason BioWare should never listen to any post you make about the game. You can't even read the post or click a link to know what is going on. How could you possibly know how to "fix" SWTOR?

  5. While I disagree that eight man is a failure I would like to see a four man team death match. It would be similar to wow arena but no 3v3 or 2v2 because of balance issues. Hope to see something like this.

Outlaw's Den... there is a perfect pit there begging for you to use it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrUdGVKT-EA&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL08F0A06B52F9EEB3

You can do faction vs faction teams and same faction vs same faction teams. Whatever group sizes you want.

  6. The situation is that with 8 men you have 1-2 premade teams owning everything and others dont even bother to make 8 men teams anymore.

Throwing 8 people together randomly is a PUG. Premades belong in ranked, PUGS do not. Ranked is for teams... competitive teams. They use voice comms and coordination. Things that a general PUG can't do.

The whole point of ranked 8 man is to have premades fight premades to see which team is best. There are guilds that are forming dedicated ranked teams. That is the point of ranked. If you can't do that then ranked is not for you.

The warzones are not designed around 4 man teams. So you have 2 options until solo ranked comes out. You can do non-ranked or ranked. If you can't get a premade going for ranked then stick to non-ranked. I don't see how this is hard to understand or a BioWare failure. More like a personal failure to me.

  7. But anyway first off jumping around while pvping is just sad I find players like that too funny as it serves absoluely no purpose whatsoever, apparently hes a wow player

The funny thing to me about jumpers is that they are actually at a disadvantage because your travel speed slows down when you jump. So if you are actually trying to get away from someone... well they will stick to you like glue and your jumping isn't preventing their attacks from firing.

Simple test. Have 2 people race with 1 jumping constantly and 1 just running normal. The normal run is faster.

  8. Hahah, not sure what else can be said about the 7:30 mark. If he lived then there would be an even more serious issue with the game. He didn't get healed and it was almost the full team protecting mid.

I watched for the following 3 minutes, but his constant jumping for no reason made me stop. He must be a Rift or WoW player... I haven't noticed any signficant issues with melee where jumping like a bunny gives you an advantage.... might help with messing up back stabs, but that is about it.

  9. Like I said, making PVP gear and PVE gear seperate via Expertise was STUPID and in the MMO arena the best PVP / PVE implementations do not have anything like Expertise.

Nothing would have to be "destroyed" and simply means that the top PVP gear and PVE geat would essentially become the same.

LIKE I SAID, THIS APPROACH HAS WORKED VERY WELL FOR OTHER GAMES THAT MIX THE PVP AND PVE EXPERIENCE.

JUST BECAUSE WOW HAS BEEN AROUND LONGER DOES NOT BY DEFAULT MEAN IT IS A BETTER GAME.

I think WoW touched you in your no-no spot. You sure do bring it up a lot.

Without going into a long drawn out post of exactly what all would have to be changed by doing your "easy fix" it will suffice to say. No, that won't happen.

SWTOR is not SWG, DAoC, AoC or Ultima. It's too late in the games life to be redesigned around your laughable "easy fix" that you have no clue how far off the mark of "easy" it really is to implement at this stage in SWTOR's life.

  10. Never said that the removal of Expertise would not come without the adjustment to existing gear so that all PVP'ers suddenly got screwed. You must play WOW or something.

What I am saying is that the seperation of gear into PVE and PVP is stupid and is not the best approach for making a more diverse game experience for players. Gear should just be gear, period.

Stop reading more into what is written just to create an argument.

No, I play SWTOR... but you obviously think WoW is the first MMO... you mentioned it. Not me. For the record I did play WoW briefly late into WOTLK and when Cataclysm launched. I had a 45 Holy Paladin female dwarf as my highest character. Let me break this down for you. EQ2 and WoW roughly came out with PvP gear at the same time. EQ2's version didn't have a PvP stat that I remember. WoW's did have a PvP stat. Since then Warhammer, Aion and Rift have all had PvP stats. I am sure I missed a few others with similar stats too. BioWare decided to go with it because it worked for other games... not just WoW.

You can't just make gear the same as all gear because then you would have to destroy PvE gear tiers. Which means you would have to re-balance all end game PvE content for 1 uniform gear. I don't think you will have very many supporters from PvE or PvP that want their gear options changed or how the gearing system works. It's all there to create a barrier of entry as well as used as a progression stick because once you hit 50... gear is all you can progress in.

So why don't you think about your statements and their global impact on the game before you state "just clone SWG".

  11. Many PVE achievements also offered benefits for PVP. i.e. stat increases and best gear / rewards.

This is exactly why there is expertise. PVE shouldn't have advantages in PvP. The best PVE gear is campaign gear. Which means you would have to be a hard core PVEr to get that gear. Without expertise that gear would be the best in the game.. period. If they gave equivalent gear to PvPers for PvPing then a lot of people would stop PvEing for there gear because PvP grinding is largely considered easier or better because there is a clear set track of how much gear costs and how long it will take you to get it vs RNG drops praying to the gaming gods you get your upgrade in Ops while rolling against fellow players that also want that upgrade which can only be run once a week. Not to mention people do both modes of gameplay so they would gear up twice as fast versus someone that only does PvE or PvP.

  12. PVP got a new currency, new warzone, two new gear tiers, nerfed access to the new middle tier gear, and server merges (admittedly for everyone). PVE got a new operation and a new flashpoint, along with a new gear tier. seems pretty on par to me.

to say additions of RWZ doesn't count is BS, because we still don't have nightmare mode of Denova. so guess what, PVP got more than PVE in 1.3.

Currency is not content. Gear is not content. Nerfs are not content. Server merges are not content... What is this? Trying to grab at straws here? Seriously... currency, gear, nerfs and server merges are new content for you? NO, just no.

PvE since release has 1 new daily quest area, 4 new bosses added in KP, 2 flashpoints (Kaon Under Seige and Lost Island) added, 1 new operation added Explosive Conflict.

PvP since release Ilum's PvP content was completely removed. Outlaw's Den has been nulified because the high end crafting material nodes were removed. They added chests to get recruit gear in 1.2, but then in 1.3 turned around and gave free recruit gear to all that ding 50... so once again it's pointless to go there other than the exploration quest... which is PvE.

1 warzone was added for PvP. That is all the actual new content that has been added to PvP.

  13. Wow. Just wow.

Why is it when a PVP Player might have to occasionally PVE for say, credits, its an unbelievable outrage and Bioware is out to get them?

But say, when a PVE Player, has to PVP to achieve his Best in Slot items, such as augmented gloves and boots prior to 1.3, or War Hero Relics, post 1.3, people just gloss over and ignore the facts?

Did 1.3 Not give you Ranked Warzones? Did 1.3 include any new Operations?

I PVE and PVP. Enjoy both, and am would consider myself quite good at both. But seriously, just because you're sole PVP Player (or PVE) - you are not more entitled than any other player that pays his 15$ a month. Get over it.

TL;DR. Bioware has more things to do than just babysit the concerns of every PVPer crying about something. There are plenty other people crying about plenty other things.

Um.... Ranked Warzones aren't new content. PVErs did get a new Operation and flashpoint in 1.2. PVPers have had PvP content removed. Ranked Warzones are a feature... features are not content.

I won't argue with your gear statements, but add that the only way to get orange belts or bracers is through PvE and they can't be fully modded for PvP... so it goes both ways with gear.

  14. I fully agree. You shouldn't have to do anything - especially not anything "mind numbingly boring" - to be able to enjoy the game and get the gear. If you only pvp that should be enough to let you gain credits to keep up with those who farm dailies.

Spare me the "But I have costs" lies. You don't get noticeable repair costs in pve grinds. Even as a tank the repair costs are neglible when doing dailies.

Any activity - pve, raiding, pvp, space - should net comparable credits for time spent.

And before anyone comes with the oh so "intelligent" argumentabout "earning" stuff: it's a game. If you think it should be work you probably are too young to have worked in your life yet.

And no, I am not lazy and want free stuff - I got all crafting skills covered on alts, and I had enough materials prepared to make a decent sum of 1.3's initial augment rush. But that shouldn't be needed to enjoy the game.

A pvper's playtime is as valuable as a pvers, and should net equal credits.

You guys know why WZ credits were nerfed right? It has nothing to do with the PvErs. You can thank all the AFK/Botters farming credits. I've seen these bots back in the first few months of release.

  15. I was previously WH Tank geared. This change pretty much forces a change to pure DPS gear since there is no benefit to tank gear.

The advice to get tank gear totally misunderstands the problem. The advice really should now be. Get DPS gear, tank gear is useless.

I am now faced with the prospect of grinding out a full set of DPS gear in order to play my tank class effectively in PvP.

This makes me sad because I knew this was coming. This is exactly why I started leveling alts because I knew eventually BioWare would hit assassin and I had planned to go full tank gear hoping they would increase the perks of being a tank in tank gear... but all they did was emphasize how important DPS gear is. I would have been pissed if I grinded out the full WH tank gear like I originally planned, just to find out BioWare went the wrong way with the nerf.

Oh well, at least you only need 1 set for all 3 specs in PvP right now. Maybe they will eventually make Deception worth playing and people will already have the DPS gear.

  16. I'm a PvPer at heart, but the PvP community never seccess to amaze me with thier complaints. I get that you want to PvP and only PvP, but if that is your main drive and only goal in the game then you have to come to the realization that acquiring some things are going to be slower than someone that actually plays more of the game.

I don't see how forcing people to PvE in this game is a bad thing. We already have very little open world PvP going on. So anything that makes people get off the fleet into the open world is a good thing. I just wish they would make the PvE daily hubs closer or give some incentive for open world.... because sadly no one does anything in a MMO now without incentive. The days of OPvPing for the sake of PvP are over. People want rewards... that is why you are complaining in this thread in the first place because you feel you are not being rewarded enough for the WZs you do.

Even if you don't want to PvE you can do missions for crafting mats. High demand crafting mats sell well. You want to get those augments then you need the Advanced Neural Augmentors and those always sell decently. So you can sit there at 50... I hope you did your main quest so that you have all your companions and you can send out 5 at a time just to get mats to sell. That way, you can sit on the fleet and pvp all day still making more money than just pvping by itself.

Another thing you can do its you can play AH clean up. By that I mean search for items that people are selling at extremely low undercut prices and then see how much that same item sells at the vendor. If I'm extremely strapped for cash then I will gladly buy a few stacks of crap that people are selling for way too low because they don't under stand economics and how always undercutting is a bad thing. You can actually turn good profits by doing this and it helps out with all the bloat on the AH.

  17. There would be no 49 twinks... per se. All you really get out of leveling in 10-49 pvp is new abilities and by level 30 or so, most people have a good enough skill set. Bolster evens out gear for the most part and away you go. PvP in that bracket is a lot more enjoyable than in the level 50 bracket where everybody outgears you like crazy and you die really fast.

No, this is the biggest misunderstood thing about the Bolster mechanic. It increases your stats to that of a level 50 player on top of the gear that you already have. If you want to be an unstoppable force then all you need to do is get blue mods and gear for your level and you will hit the top of the damage meter every game. At 49 you have all of your abilities that others lower level than you don't have. You can be twinked out in purple mods/gear and now with 1.3 you can have augments. You would be the equivalent of a fully War Hero augmented player in a fresh 50 zone against players with no expertise. Oh and that is another thing. 40+ you can get a little expertise that the lower levels can't get and you can put that expertise in multiple slots. This is why level 49 twinks get banned for not leveling. It's not balanced and BioWare is fully aware of it.

Nothing about bolster is balanced. It's intended to be able to allow low levels to hit higher levels and do damage. It does that function and nothing more.

The best balance you can get is level 50 pvp with everyone in augmented and modded War Hero gear. Until then... nothing is balanced gear wise. Hence why the full War Hero teams are completely curb stomping under geared teams in ranked PvP.

  18. Laugh when you die knowing you were doing all you could. Good Luck

I think this is the best piece of advice... one that I frequently forget. As long as you are doing the best you can... let it go, because the frustration makes it ten times worse if you let it get to you. Easy way for me to coup while solo queuing is to get some music I like going (techno/dubstep) and let that help ease the frustration while gearing up.

  19. haha spoken like a true marauder player. Sure, we should have to spec heals because Bioware is horrible at balancing this game.

Operatives are one of the classes that can kill marauders.... not sure what you are trying to say.

You're terrible so you have spec heals to be useful in a group? I know a handful of operatives that are scary as hell in concealment spec. The rest can't bother to figure out the class so they spec heals eventually. I will say that your lethality tree needs help.. but you do have 2 very viable specs which is more than Sins can say... Sin is pretty much tankassin or go home.

  20. The 2 biggest problems I see when fighting people on my lowbie marauder. 1) is they see deflection's animation and assume that I poppped undying rage because they can't tell the difference. 2) they sit in ravage and give up. It's really amazing how many people just straight give up when I attack them solo with my marauder... it's like people see me, know what I am and immediately admit defeat. I don't even have root on my ravage yet or undying rage... this has to have been something learned at higher level.. so these rerolls are just terrible players.

If there are 3 or more people then I get swarmed and have to respawn.. but solo most people just straight sit there until they die.

  21. What universe do u live in where Marauders/Sentinals are getting "rolled" in rateds? Well-geared marauder > any other DPS class.

I can think of 3 classes that can kill marauders. Snipers, Sins and Powertechs. Snipers and Sins because they can control the marauder and powertech because they can burst them to the ground.

If 3 classes can kill a marauder... are marauders really that OP? No.

  22. Sentinels have a lot of active management and have a relatively high skill cap.

Sages have a lot of utility tools and good-ish DPS, but requires a lot of effort and skill to fully utilize both at the same time. They also have to work very hard to put out meaningful damage. Also have to work very hard to stay alive in Warzones, if you make even one mistake versus a good player, you die.

I can agree with sage. I think they are probably take the most skill to play properly right now. Sentinel does have a lot of abilities and most of them are important for just about any encounter you get it, but I don't think sentinel is has hard as a sage... but also not as easy as pyrotech which I would probably put in the easiest to play slot for DPS.

hardest class to play? an effective arsenal merc. need constant situational awareness because as soon as the enemy realizes where you are you're dead and not dealing damage again for a while. also can't kite so once again, you have to remain unnoticed without having the stealth abilities of the otehr "don't notice me while I DPS you" classes, assassins and operatives.

I think arsenal/gunnery specs fall into my post stating that some classes are low man on the totem poll. I would put these 2 specs in that catergory. It's kind of like Deception for Sins. It can be good until people realize you bring the pain and you are easy to kill.

  23. MM sniper certainly is close to easy-mode (it's certainly great but requires epic proportions of patience... or maybe it's just laziness). But... optimal sniper damage rotations heavily rely on the application (and proper timing) of their weaker attacks, so it's safe to say that it's a class that takes a lot of practice to become a significant threat.

I'm not sure how something is ez-mode, but takes a lot of practice to become a significant threat.

The only question is what class do you want to play and then we can tell you their strengths and weaknesses in PvP. Some classes right now are just low man on the totem poll and there isn't much you can do to change that.. even if you are the most skilled person in SWTOR.

Here is a serious question. What are the hardest classes to play?

  24. It seemed like it was very easy to stay at high energy last night. I only had time to do 1 False Emperor HM.... which ended up taking a hour and a half to complete after 5 wipes (DPS queing tank/dps and then not being great tanks because they meant to queue just DPS.. topic for a different discussion). Using the new sniper volley was pretty nice. I haven't had a chance to use it in PvP much, but it seems like it's going to be better and worth keeping in my spec.

On a side note, since I didn't check out the PTS at all... all the sound changes were throwing me off. Followthrough and Take Down were the most noticable. New animation and new sounds.... kinda like it.
