  1. I believe the term is Yes-Being or Wermo if you're talking to space slugs...
  2. "If you've noticed the scent of burning wiring, I've programmed the air scrubber to simulate it, to remind you of that droid you disintegrated Master..."
  3. Rest assured, at least in my case, I am not "connected" with Bioware or E.A. so they don't know my history and have not likely picked me based on my past exploits. I suspect the picking was based on the essays that people sent in, though that would be as much speculation as anything else. As for questions, I hope much will be discussed for the general good but here's a face: Can't please all the people, all of the time. Bioware will do, in my estimation, what is best for the community and thus the business. If they had no interest in hearing from the most vocal players in a face to face capacity, I do not believe they would have hosted this. They certainly are not under obligation to do so and this is far more than any MMO development group has done for a game this early in launch. I expect good things above and beyond what I've already seen. Oh and, just a mention. Liking the game as it is, knowing that it will only get better doesn't make someone a "boot-licker". It means I love Star Wars, whole-cloth, I'm not looking to nit-pick it to death and try to say what it shouldn't have had and what it should have had. And being bitter and negative about people who are going to attend because you can't be sure your voice will be heard isn't going to change things. A little positivity goes a long way and feels a lot better than simmering hate. We're going to help the game get better and better, I know it.
  4. I have my priorities clear. I don't kiss anyone's backside but I DO intend to go there in hopes of discussing the future of SWTOR and talk about improvements and really, I represent my friends, guildmates and my fellow gamers / SWTOR community. Not necessarily in that order. If you're going, I'll see you in Austin shortly.
  5. I've gotten to 400 Artifice and while I have not built the Level 400 lightsabers or holocrons, I find that, from what I can see, PvP lightsabers and armor greatly overshadow these items in power and getting them might be a chore, but it's FAR less a chore and far less expensive. I was truly astounded to never see any artifice schematics available on the Galactic Market and to my understanding, there tend to be nothing there, save for some Shield recipes. Questions: 1. Why were shields not put into cybertech? 2. Why do we, as artificers, not have more "artifact" type-items. 3. Why can we not craft custom designed lightsaber hilts (not the hilt cores that are a mod to lightsaber) that we can use throughout the life of our progression in a Jedi class or the ability to sell these things to other players, Level 10-40. Crafting the lightsaber is a hallmark of Jedi and the designs are personal. C'mon devs! 4. "Lightsaber Hilt" crafted items are very poorly names. Could we not be crafting "Focusing Lens" items instead and put THOSE in the lightsaber? Isn't the naming confusing? 5. Please, add schematics throughout the life of artifice that operate like Bio-Chem only items. Examples? Holocron artifacts that allow a boost in skill but are Artifice-only to use. At the moment, it seems that Biochem makes anyone a self-healer with some amazing buffs, Slicing makes people rich, Synthweaving is useful all through the life of the game. Lets face it, High level PvP gear is great but Crafted gear should be superior otherwise we should all switch to slicing and use PvP gear, look the same and the game will then take on a very bland look and feel. The sale of items from Artifice are not hot items as normally those who need these items often take it as a crafting skill for themselves. In short, Artifice needs some love Devs, and quickly. It's the red-headed stepchild of crafting.
  6. Odd things i have seen in PvP: I have been struck for a quarter of my health every single hit from SOME players. This is unusual as most players are not capable of doing this to me but I noted in some matches it would always be the same player, every single hit. Today in a match, There was an operative that stood still, I wailed on him, he wasn't dying due to some manner of heals, that's fine but, I'm behind him in his little shield thing and i've built lots of focus and ...Force Kick is -Greyed out-. What the hell is that about? And this went on for a good 10-12 seconds. I used saber throw on an enemy and he was NOT frozen in place, not even for a second and yes, my skills are set so it applies a 100% chance of immobilize. They didn't even pause to use a break-free power. Again, what's this?
  7. No i agree. I'll say this, I've seen more strange things lately in PvP and and beyond my hatred of the "Run in circles and backstab" tactic (and I hate it because if it's absurdity, not it's effectiveness) but it honestly, Sorcerers have an absurd about of stuns, self healing, knockback and ABSURD damage with lightning. Where's the weakness? Operatives are pretty much the same, just add in insane range damage, and invisibility. I can't say smugglers aren't different and Bounty hunters are just doing so much damage. I'd say that the Devs have overlooked Sentinel abilities. They don't heal at all, they have one true stun, they have no knockback (why does the tank knight have a knockback and the squishy knight have none?? Isn't that backward?) and as much damage as they do, they don't ever seem to do as much as most Sith Warrirors even on their best day. I'm sorry but there is NO balance to PvP and on certain days when it's 5 sorcerers and three operatives against the Republic, you may as well pack it in because they will simply farm you and if you're a medium armored or light armored player, they'll kill you first and keep killing you over and over because you're worth the same points as a heavily armored self-healing tank. I have no thoughts on changes and I have seen some things recently i wonder may be exploits but can not confirm. Take it as you will, and though i have fun sometimes, I see PvP as weighted badly. -Xeco
  8. Sounds wonderful and an excellent forum to explore new directions the game could take. I'm terribly impressed with the developers for hosting something like this and being willing to discuss the game face to face with leaders within the player base. I've been to a lot of the No-Cal MMO studios and here's a fun fact: Do people realize that Blizzard studios has bullet-proof glass at it's HQ? Unsurprisingly many MMO companies are afraid of their players. Bravo Bioware.
  9. I second that. We must have a way to toggle these on so that it is an option for RPers who want to know who's speaking in a crowded place. having to scroll up to see who said what in a conversation is very troublesome. So here's a list of features that would make the chat bubble feature a big hit: RP CHAT BUBBLES! 1. Optional so not everyone is forced to use them. 2. Transparent and Star-Warsy. The little hovers you see over some of the gathering items? You know, those aurabesh significators with the transparent look and pale glowing brackets? That would make it very distinctive and also not very obtrusive. (maybe not in aurabesh though... ) 3. Allow us to change the distance at which chat bubbles appear. A slider that can make the distance at which you see bubble will allow you to converse with a group but allow you to keep the rest of the scenery un-cluttered with junk. 4. Make bubbles only appear for "/s" chat. Most of the spam is in general anyway. 5. Allow a toggle to always see bubbles, at whatever distance, on friends list people and guild people. 6. Colorable bubbles through the friends list or guild list.
  10. I had similar issues once the game went live. I worried that my GPU was overheating also but I had put a big fat Zalman copper cooler on it and that surely couldn't be the issue could it? I came to understand that it was my cheapo power supply. I bit the bullet and got a nice "continuous Power" power supply from new egg and like magic, it no longer shuts down even though I have turned the fans down a bit on everything. Keep in mind that crappy PSUs like to flux a lot, giving you spikes. When one of our modern GPU cards doesn't get enough voltage, poof, they shut off and sometimes the computer will keep the fans going and the computer is still running but you'll never know because the GPU is off. Bite the bullet and get a good PSU and you'll never go back to 20$ units again.
  11. Q1: Is there a Black Market for cross faction trade? I would think so because I keep getting recipes for Sith Warrior items, Sith Sorcerer items and what's the point of that? If I can trade across the battle-lines it would make more sense. Q2: Is there a search feature on the forums and if so, why don't i see it?
