  2. LoL you should see the star wars fangirls at the star wars events, lots of chicks love it. Mine hates star wars. Amazingly she has not seen a SINGLE star wars film.

  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7RqU_Isw28 A simple little trick using msaa + LOD switch to get a little more out of the graphics in swtor. Im 100% sure nvidia has a way to do this too so if someone with a nvidia card wants to post a how-to here or even make a video (il link it to mine) on how to do it that would be awesome. Considering this has almost no effect on framerate I cant see why anyone would not do this. For a 1fps loss there is really no reason not to change lod, better quality is better quality despite how u get it. Im also trying to mess with a fxaa injector (bf3's in particular) which might yield some interesting results. Until then, enjoy Radeonpro Link : http://www.radeonpro.info/en-US/ For the ATI guys/gals I recommend using catalyst 11.9 with the latest 11.9 cap. 11.10/11.11/11.12/and 12.1 beta gave me reduced performance. BF3 still runs awesome on 11.9 the only game u will lose out on is rage. atm for swtor I deff recommend 11.9 with 11.9 cap4 and radeon pro (for tweaking and crossfire stuff) *Nvidia - Originally posted by sanosukex (diff forum) nvidia its easy to do open nvidia inspector and go to your star wars the old republic profile Texture Filtering Negative LOD Bias- make sure this say allow right above that is an option that says Texture Filtering LOD bias(DX9)- here you can change from 3 to -3 just like in the video there's no mipmap slider for nvidia but you can change the texture filtering to high quality here as well.. 5. -30lod to is much man. -26 is about right. and your right this trick doesnt get us back to full res textures but anything that helps is great. Im also trying to mess with a fxaa injector (bf3's in particular) which might yield some interesting results
  6. To late uploading it now lol. And of course I cant enable super high res textures with a simple tweak. but the graphics quality changing lod is night and days, deff worth checking out, at least for us amd/ati guys. Il link the video once its done uploading. For a 1fps loss there is really no reason not to change lod, better quality is better quality despite how u get it
  7. I have found some amd/ati settings U can set in radeonpro that add A LOT more detail to the game, still playing with em but I may make a quick 30sec video showcasing it
  8. yea just checked out your sig screenshots. They made me a sadddd panda
  9. Yea I noticed that was well -DERP- sorry lol. It was like 2-3 in the morning so I was just outta it. Il do my best not to make this mistake again
  10. umm your getting 200fps (thought the game was capped at 110) but are dropping below 20 in places on the fleet sounds like a issue with your rig sir. I can say I HAVE NEVER gotten 200fps in swtor (so your rig must be better) but I can say iv never dropped below 26, ever. And yea I didnt know about the shadows issue, but 40% no lol. I see a 10-20% at max drop in fps from shadows. Im wondering if your driver is giving you issues. Cause im really not seeing the drops/cuts in frame rates you are. Im assuming your nvidia? maybe driver? The games optimized like crap but you should not be seeing those kind of drops *Just Tested* Imp fleet combat area TONS of players around. no shadows = 46-48fps. with shadows on high 41-44fps Very large outdoor area with tons off trees. no shadows = 79-83fps. shadows high 72-73fps. Thats not a 40% drop
  11. WOW thats really stupid of em. Other then on the fleet I get 60+ fps at all times. Normally 80+ in most places. 30+ fps is playable, I cant see just high res textures cutting the games performance by that much. I think bioware must be using crappy test rigs. Even if I force x16 SSAA in my driver its still playable. And there is NO WAY a small texture bump is more demanding then x16 SSAA lol. *** has bioware been doing all this time lol
  12. Thanks. So are we ever getting the high res textures in the cinematics patched in for regular gameplay or no?
  13. yea but there just so pretty and give the game a lot more 'feeling'
  14. Thx for all the great feedback everyone has sent me on youtube. For now I think pretty much all graphics stuff is taken care of so until changes are made thats it for the graphics comparisons
  15. The test was done using MSAA x4 and x16 with EQ enabled. This test WAS NOT using SSAA. And really, x16 msaa still looks freaking amazing compared to x16 ssaa and really, U should never really need more then x4 of any AA unless your really jagged edge anal
  16. Updated OP with new video. New topic for it aswell http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=1563585#post1563585
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leaH3juvA9c So my last graphics comparison was not the best. The switching back and forth made seeing a difference difficult and overall just didnt work well. Also the location I picked was not good for every setting. So I have redone the video in new locations that make the difference in settings much more noticeable. A also have added a comparison of x4 and x16 AA (forced through catalyst) for those who cant live without AA. I hope this helps more then my last video. Thank you for the feedback, both positive and negative. It helps me improve my videos and make better content overall so THX. 18. Enough people have asked that I am going to do another video like this, but with more options and a proper side by side and transitional comparison. Also many asked to do a better location. I chose the spot in my first video because it had distant grass/trees, lots of shadows and characters and close/far textures. But since so many asked is there any suggestions for the next spot to test?
  19. Id rather they worked on load time myself. The game uses very little gpu/ram/cpu yet I have 10-25second loads... not cool
  20. People act like life is over because of this whole bioware graphics issue. Since when was swtor ever about its looks lol. Story story story, this is bioware people....
  21. considering a lot of beast rigs still drop below 40fps on the fleet its better that they optimize it then worry about adding more details later. and as I said I could play this game on low without a problem, because high just isnt that much better.
