  1. I generally agree with all of the above and would like to add on that, in regards to the UI (not addons). Option to unlock the UI needs to be in place. Make the UI able to be scaled (a simple slider), for each UI element. Give the left and right quickslot bars the ability to be toggled horizontal/vertical. Add working focus target. In game mouseover healing options (unit frame specific -self, target, party, focus, and ops-). Combat log. Again, no addons needed, just the above functions added.
  2. No, there's no 'official' server forums. Check out the sticky at the top of the community section forums, there are a number of links to different server forums being presented. Hopefully people either start using them, or BW gives us an official server forum outlet.
  3. I'm on Darth Sion as well. Thanks for making the site, but I'm already chatting a bit over here.. http://www.swtorowned.com/darth-sion/ There are server listings for all the SWTOR servers (if yours is not listed, post your server name in the feedback and suggestions forum to have it added). http://www.swtorowned.com
  4. Thanks, it's just habit for me to use the brackets and www. I'm only trying to reduce the search thread clutter with a work around.
  5. So many threads wanting the search function restored, I decided to make a handy guide. Say you want to find "server forums" posts and topics on swtor.com... [site:www.swtor.com] "server forums" or threads about the search function being turned off... [site:www.swtor.com] "search not working" or how to ... nah, you see the trend here. [site:www.swtor.com] I hope this guide helps you on your journey to knowledge and freedom.
  6. Use google. Search terms [site:www.swtor.com] "your search" "your search" is what you're searching for.
  7. ZAM is an official fansite of a number of MMOs. They get permission before using any copyright content. Also, if you go to the account button at the top of this page, you'll notice a "Fansite" link on your account page. All the material there is free to use, under the specified ToU/ToS, which you agree to when getting the fansite kit.
  8. It doesn't ruin the template, it clogs the traffic, giving page load times severe stress if you have 100s of browsers hitting search at the same time. Using a google site search gives the same results, only better, in most cases. Use this before your search inquiry... [site:www.swtor.com] For instance.. you want to see results for server forums.. [site:www.swtor.com] "server forums" It gives results for the quoted phrase (server forums) on swtor.com.
  9. You should check the server forums... oh wait, there aren't any. I'm having the same problem. It's not easy to find a 'home', when homes have no means of effective promotion. Oh wait, someone will post in this thread to make me feel right at home.
  10. They removed it for forum performance issues. They'll (hopefully) bring it back soon.
  11. Great thread, thanks for keeping it updated. Although. Even if people create great server forums for their server, it wont be nearly as useful as consolidated server forums. If people are looking for a server and/or guild, the consolidated server sites will get far more attention and prove far more useful than browsing and registering to multiple web addresses. Just a thought for the topic.
  12. Empire or Republic? Your Level? List of vendors.. may or may not be accurate (Beta>Live) http://db.darthhater.com/npcs/by_type/vendors/
  13. I've seen a few posts for unofficial server forums that include a little IRC discussion/option. So my question is this, is there any interest in getting an open IRC going that is setup to incorporate server discussions in general, and subgroups that include actual server specific discussion? If there are any servers using IRC as an option, please list here so we can possibly organize on a larger scale. I'll update this OP to indicate which IRC has the largest population (via posts replying here, AND my own observation after checking it out first hand). Please, only use this thread for IRC discussion, forums discussion and the like have more discussion than any sane person wants to deal with.
  14. I recognize a few names from back in the day and a few from 'that other SW forum'. I was Yor in <MediK> (forget the spelling now, Dolfiana's guild), who merged with <TRIAD> from Triad Citadel on Talus... just before or just after the CU. I was MCM/Rifles>Carb>Pistoleer, depending on fotm or guild needs. It's too bad all from Bria aren't on the same server here, it'd be fun to try recreating the good ol Dantooine server crashing PvP wars. I still haven't settled on a home server yet, played a few toons to ~30ish and find a huge faction imbalance, I guess Republic is going to be my choice afterall, considering how much the Empire has swayed people to the dark side.
  15. You might consider starting a group leveling guild. If you do, make a note of it in the OP. I'd be interested if things look fairly stable.
  16. The only place I've seen where users are starting to pop up into the server forums that was created is at SWTORowned (looks like a community driven Torhead or SWTOR-spy). They seem to have allocated servers their own forum. No one has posted on the Juyo forum at the time of this post, but hopefully people will use a single site rather than having hundreds of different sites to browse through. Anyway, link to Juyo is http://www.swtorowned.com/juyo/ There's another site that's completely dedicated to SWTOR server forums, with links back here (swtor.com) for all other forum groups. It looks like if BW were to advocate an off site server community (fan site), this would likely be set up appropriately for that purpose. The link to that site is here.. http://swtorsf.swtorhosting.com/forum And their Welcome Message after signing up explains a little better..
  17. It comes with the territory in having a successful MMO. Behaviour has no part in whether or not you want your game to succeed; gathering and keeping a community strong and tight knit , wanting to stick around for each other in good times and in bad, is how you keep the game sustainable during 'slow development' times and in times of good fortune (server firsts, server requests, server events, etc..). Without the tools necessary to build and maintain a healthy server, the game itself will slowly dissipate and always feel like a single player game on an MMO platform.
  18. I came here looking for server forums, as many others have stated. Communication in the game is very difficult.. The voiced quests hurts voip (ventrilo, teamspeak, etc..) communication (varying reasons). Space combat wipes in game chat history (including whispers and guildchat). Voiced quests make sound notification of incoming whispers disappear (or impossible to hear). There are other aspects that contribute to difficult in-game communication, but most of you already understand. This game has more need for server forums than most others. I'm not saying these are bad features; they're a lot of fun (except the buggy chat wiping and missed whispers during quests). I'm expressing a need for server specific communication to allow for community building. I have few ties to this game, with no real need to keep playing without some form of community (even a poorly moderated one). The way the forums are currently set up, I'm not going to even bother looking for a community here, as much as I'd like to find one. I may or may not cancel my sub over this; maybe I'll get lucky and happen across a good server in the 'off site' server forums. I wasn't going to post anything here, because it likely isn't going to be addressed like many of us want, but it isn't fair to myself if I sit in silence.
