  1. I know, my poor Chiss agent. He's never going to accept that she wasn't built that way... TBH, I found even a lot of the minor characters who only appear briefly to be pretty engaging in Agent. Baroness Chay is still my favorite throw away NPC ever as I find her a mix of comical, tragic, and utterly believable. I can't think of many video games where you're like, "Yeah this random person thrown in for a twist actually engaged me." I always found the W2 thing to be tragic. She seems to, I guess, have accepted her life. But it's not that hard to imagine a teenaged girl basically told, "Well, this is what you were born for. Enjoy." who's pretty unhappy with it.
  2. I believe that person who wrote it is now lead writer for TOR. So still around. Hopefully for a lot longer!
  3. I'm going to argue that some of the characters impact the story. (Most companion characters play a role in the class story of the planet you find them on, you do get to break Jaesa or keep her good, etc.) But I do really, really miss a lot of the companion story arcs and interaction. (I so wish that you could have two companions out at a time and that they'd talk.) I think a lot of it is resources, and I do understand that there are a lot of challenges in getting everything to sync up for an MMO. Alternately, there's some stuff I like better than in the KOTOR games. For instance, I love that I don't have to be a Jedi or a Sith. I can be an every day Joe. Esp. stories like smuggler, agent, bounty hunter, and trooper are really missing from the Star Wars gaming universe. (Some of the books admittedly cover Mandalorians, troopers, smugglers, and even vaguely agents.) So that's fun. And I love how the stories overlap and intertwine - that's pretty freaking awesome. I also really love playing the game with friends. So disadvantages and advantages. I do think that if it was a one class kind of story (where we only played, say, Jedi Knight) that we would get a more coherent story with a lot more depth. But we'd also lose a lot of what I think makes the game great...
  4. Oh, don't give up! I love my totally nonsensical, psychopath of a DS counselor.
  5. 1. Story was built around male agent. There are more flirts, more one night stands, and some significant plot points that make more sense as m!agent. With that said, both play pretty well, and both are fun. If you don't care at all between romance options, looks, and voice actors, I'd go male. But if you have any preference based on other factors, go where your preference takes you. 2. I enjoyed leveling as far as story, but PVP and PVE are also perfectly fine choices. 3. If you're not interested in healing, I'd probably go sniper. Operative damage is well known to be not so great. (Although I've only played a sniper and a healing operative.) But operatives can do enough melee damage that they're fine if you don't want to play one in end game PVE. (Snipers, on the other hand, kill crazy fast.) Also, operatives have stealth, which can really, really speed up questing. So if you like melee damage, go that way. Just be warned that your abilities to play end game PVE with that character are limited unless they un-nerf them.
  6. From the little I've seen, people don't bow to humans (as you're not a Sith lord - you're just an imperial agent). But you're not treated with scorn, either. You're part of the imperial military, which is a very important position, just not one worthy of groveling, either. So instead of getting "dirty alien" all the time, you're treated as an equal by most people you interact with. Also, one potential fling is opened up to you, and you You do get different options as a Chiss than as any other non-human species. (Essentially you get the options of "Chiss", "human", or "non-chiss, non-human". The same thing seems true for SW, where you get "pure blood sith", "human", and "neither." Although from what I've seen on that one, they did less work in differentiating the three. (If you're a non-human imperial agent, you really, really feel it.)
  7. So...apparently if you delete certain (not all) world and bonus quests, you can never get them again. (So you miss that chunk of content on your character.) This is driving me crazy as I ended up deleting a few to make room for dailies, but did want to go back and do them later. But now can't pick them up. I'd be fine with them being reset, or not getting anything for them. Just...I want to see the content. (As some of it is rather entertaining!) Surely there must be some way to allow the quest to be deleted, but then reset to the beginning!
  8. I suspect so as well. There was a moment where I asked Vector not to reveal something I'd done and he was like, "Well, yes, we don't necessarily understand politics, but we've gathered that it would be best to keep this to ourselves." He comes off as pretty clueless. But I suspect he's actually reasonably savvy, just sort of gets that he's given a bit more leeway if he seems to be completely screwy. I suspect Lokin regularly tries the same thing. (And that Kaliyo would, too, if she were smarter and a bit more subtle.)
  9. I made Garza choose. I couldn't. She picked Aric. I felt so bad for Elara. Like, here she is, doing her best, but hated despite that she gave up everything for the Republic... Then again, I would have felt bad for Aric, too. (Since he really was screwed over.) I think that they both were worthy. (Although watching the two of them snipe at each other was hilarious.)
  10. Oh, thanks. Vector is so delightfully weird. I regularly wonder if he's actually *that* strange, or if he's just kind of pretending so that he doesn't have to deal with all of the politics.
  11. I did fraps it, so uploaded it over on youtube for you at: It also includes Vector's reaction as well as my character trying to bargain with Hunter. (Which I find freaking hilarious.) Enjoy!
  12. Well, that was the other thing I loved about the villains. They all made sense.
  13. Yeah, that's why I still haven't taken that ending on any of my toons.
  14. Yeah, I was truly impressed by how much they made me *hate* the enemies in there. I mean, you don't just vaguely want to take them out. You want to rip their still beating hearts from their rib cages.
  15. I did the run around the computers thing on one toon. I couldn't get in interrupts easily as I was an operative and spending more time just trying not to get myself killed/lose Vector than get close enough to stab... Mostly found the really big computer off to one side of the room (I think it's on the right?), and just circled it frantically, healing Vector every time he came into view, stabbing Jadus if he came close to me, and otherwise just running like a maniac. The main thing is, if you're out of line of sight, most of his abilities don't work, so you're safe. So if he casts, you really, really want to be somewhere he can't see you... Somehow I managed to take him down at level 31 by doing that, despite that I hate and fear melee classes.
  16. Oh, you haven't met Lord Prevan yet... (Trust me, there are a lot of cool imperials, esp. in the JK storyline...although I'll admit that I do totally <3 Watcher One.) I suspect that W1 is stretching is job title a bit. (At least considering that you never see any of the other Watchers in the field other than W2 very briefly, in a very peripheral way.) It seems really plausible that he was sent somewhere with a Cipher Agent to deal with the Jedi, then things get a little out of hand or whatever and he takes over...
  17. IDK. Watcher Three seems *really* young. And
  18. This conversation comes up a lot. It all depends on what you like/want. Different people like one more than another based on what they think makes for a great video game. My preferences so far: Agent > Jedi Knight > Trooper > Smuggler > Sith Warrior > Bounty Hunter > Jedi Counselor (I haven't played enough of Sith Inquisitor to have an opinion, but from what I've heard, I'm guessing it'll fall somewhere around smuggler for me). But there are pros and cons to each story. You may think that the pros of one story are a lot more important than I am, or the cons less important.
  19. I'm not sure that the numbers mean much. Watcher Nine is definitely considered brighter than the older batch of Watchers by Keeper, but Nine is reasonably far up there. You're likely considered "better" than Cipher Three (Temple's father). I think they may just be numbers.
  20. From playing Agent... The Watchers are all genetically engineered intelligence analysts who "watch" their given field agents. (Hence the name "Watcher". There are also Ciphers, Fixers, and Minders as well as Keeper. Only Ciphers are field agents, the rest play support roles.) In addition, they put together additional information to try to suss out what's really going on. (i.e. they might monitor bank accounts to figure out where a terrorist is operating or a space station's medical records to determine that there's a grand conspiracy afoot) Watcher One seems to be an exception, as you see him in the field. (In IA, all of the field agents are Cipher agents). But possibly he's monitoring another agent and only appears because he needs to interact with his Cipher agent in some way. The other Watchers you run into are: Watcher Two - who is your primary point of contact in intelligence as an imperial agent. She's genetically engineered to be more mentally agile than a normal human, as well as "conditioned" to unquestioningly serve her Sith overlords. (As well as, arguably, to fall in love with you, according to her dossier.) Her conditioning left her unable to perform well in the field or make snap decisions, so possibly there's some interest in having Watchers be able to do field operations. (You do see Watcher Two in one field assignment, supporting you. So this may be why Watcher One is roaming around outside of intelligence.) Watcher Three - Probably genetically enhanced as well, although not 100% sure. He becomes a point of contact for all agents after And, again, he seems to be purely an intelligence analyst - you never see him outside of intelligence. Watcher Nine - The "next generation" of analysts, who's even sharper and faster than Watcher Two or Three, but also is very inhuman. (Probably due to the enhancement. Flirting with her is kind of funny as she doesn't even realize that you've done it.) Like Watcher Three, you never see her outside of intelligence... Not sure if this helps...
  21. No idea. I know that Bioware has said yes, FWIW. I also know that there have been significant staff reductions and that the game has gone ftp. So we'll see. They may come along, they may not. Even if they do materialize, I suspect they'll be less involved than the original vision. (Although this may not be bad. Every storyline I've played has parts that could be cut without losing anything.) I am with those of you, though, who don't think they'll keep subscribing if there's *never* any character specific content. Like you, that's what I love about this game. So if that vanishes, I'll probably finish up my subscription, then go ftp and finish up the characters I'm still curious about...
