  1. You're reading it wrong, your valor points reset to 0 after each rank up. So rank 1 require 0 points, rank 2 requires you earn 1000, reank 3 requires you to earn 1100 after you hit rank 2, and so on.
  2. Actually that is not a guesstimate. Each non-heroic daily pays $10k creds There are 13 non-heroics. Total 130k creds. 4 heroics (the two 4+ Heroics you can actually do solo if you hug the walls) which pay out between 14-20k. Then you have all of the creds from each mob you kills (I get something like 200 per mob when soloing). And the creds from selling the mods once you no longer need them. Each of those, IIRC go for around 3k each. And of course the tons of junk gear or non-needed green and blue loot that drops. As for repairs, admitedly I am only in Columi gear with a few pieces of Rakata, and havent started NMs, but even a fully broken set of columi gear only costs ~55k creds to repair. And the 55k repair bill is coming directly from the cost to me last night to repair a fully red set of gear after a wipe on our Karraga's run.
  3. You guys realize just doing the Belasalvis and ilum dailies nets you around 250k credits for about 1-2 hours worth of work right? It really is not that costly at all given that I am sitting on well over a million credits right now just from running my dailies about 5 times. And I am a HM Op tank.
  4. Well the problem is that once you become the ball carrier you become the objective and thus lose the ability to gain any "objective" points. They do need to fix that. it is more beneficial to guard/slaughter the ball carrier than it is to be the ball carrier.
  5. way we usually do it on republic is send one guy left and everyone else goes right because because then you get the speeders that drop you less than 10 ft from them. We generally win too because empire all rushes mid.
  6. You guys realize, while they cannot be sold, you can craft Rakata (i.e. Tier 3) gear of specific pieces right? Admitedly it would be "nice" if crafted gear was the best but with no breakage worries (ala DAoC), or gear loss on death (i.e. EQ) it kind of makes it pointless as once you get the best gear there is never a need to replace it (until the next expansion).
  7. Given I can get Full Columi or full Rakata gear from a few OPs/HM OPs run I don't see what the deal is. There already is a grind (getting to Valor 50) tougher than getting the Tier 3 raid gear as it is.
  8. Given that on the very test server patch notes that bring this up Bioware says themselves that they are seeing via their metrics a disporportionate number of kills by Ops and Scoundrels alone in a shorter time frame I would choose to believe them over you.
  9. It's all about time on target, if it is pre-arranged between guilds you just rotate out match to match. Your time playing is shorter and you get faster gains., You get so much more valor etc. in far shorter order doing it that way.
  10. Nope, whomever has the most points at the end of the match wins, and it just happened again. They got to the datacore in ~5m on void, soon as our turn starts 3 leave and 2 minutes later warzone shuts down with a loss to us. In the midle fo the afternoon on a weekday they are just running a couple of pre-ades and already have it pre-arranged it appears. Fighting same guys every match and it rotates out who leaves.
  11. Keep seeing this regularly on VOid star and Alderaan. What happens is in like the first round of void star let's say they make it past the first two door and we stop them. When it switches to our round enough of them will leave so that it forces a shutdown in 120 seconds and because we haven't gotten through the second door yet it gives the remainders of their team a win and our team a defeat. Have had this happen 4 times today so far on The Shadowlands. On Alderaan what they have started doing is if they can get the turrets and get a comfortable enough lead and we start coming back they willl leave when they are just ahead enough so that all 3 guns can't overcome them in 120 again giving a defeat to our side and victory to their remainders. You guys really have to fix this.
  12. You don't have to kite him to an edge, just kite him to one of the side (rather than the central) walkways and he will be blown off with your second knockback. Only time I've been knocked off of it was when I was being really stupid and not thinking. You can tank him in the scenter of those walkways and the knockback is still enough to throw him off the ledge, it's only the central walkway from the entrance that you have ot have him at an edge.
  13. You guys do realize they "Have an app" for that... that's how we do it, just configure what the pylons are currently set to and it will tell you which way to go how many times for each level. Have had it since end of beta. It's called something like swtor ancient pylons game in the iphone app store.
  14. You realize most 50s are sitting on over 2mil as it is right? You earn like $300k/run of dailies on Ilum and Belsavis alone. So it's not really a money sync (heck I'm sitting on well over 2 mil because other than repairs there is nothing to spend it on).

    At least you guys are getting something, I got 4 seperate pieces of champ gear about 3 weeks ago and have yet to see another piece.

It's not that they take an off spec healer or hybrid healer over you because you suck at healing, it is because they take it because the content requires you build your group with a very specific group structure. Generally something along the lines of 2 Tanks, 4 ranged DPS, 2 healers for regular Ops, and 1 tank, 1 DPS/Off Tank, 4 ranged DPS, 1 DPS/Healer, 1 healer for HM OPs.
  17. And you will die in HM... It's called Enrage timer and most fights are so tight on the enrage timer that when the gear check bosses enrage it is literally 2-3 swings just before an optimized group, and well played group, kills him (thank god for saber ward), that is how close these fights are. Doing it with a non-optimal group is an exercise in futility.
  18. Wait till you get to OPs and get told "Oh sorry no, we don't need a full healer, we need a Healer/DPS split for one of our healers" or "Oh you are healer/dps? We already have that one spot filled we need a full on healing spec". OPs and HMs have two completely different group requirements to be successfull and some of the roles (i.e. tank, healing, DPS type (ranged or melee)) are very specific for the OP or FP type.
  19. Actually you do, if he did that in a HM then they will die. The enrage timers and fights are so tight you have to have max DPS time on target to burn them before they one shot everything. It is stupid to take on a non-DPS specced individual into a DPS role because all you will do is hit the first or second boss (depending on which is the gear check boss) and wipe repeatedly. Just try doing HM Maelstorm on the 2nd boss (cyber eye) with that setup and you will wipe. Heck just try doing the two towers at the first of EV with that setup and you will wipe, especially since they gave them the boss buff now so they can't be CC'd.
  20. DA:O and NWN (Bioware not AOL) are largely identical games, the only difference being graphics, setting, and the scripted sequences (minus the editing power of NWN). Now if you are talking DA2 and NWN you are right, however again if you compare it to a more action oriented fantasy such as DIABLO II or III there is very few differences. And Arch Age is only going to do well because everyone in the far east will be playing it to show it loyalty, I don't see it being picked up or at least picked up for long by many western gamers. We already went down that road with SB (which was actually fairly well done for the "time") and it flopped. But yeah NWN and DA:O really don't have that many differences, DA:O is just a refinement of NWN in a new setting.
  21. You do realize that pretty much every single AC has 2 roles they can perform and do them rather well (heck we ran some HM FPs last night with a full DPS guardian and it was better than running with a sentinal). So that won't be a problem.
  22. You realise in Ops you don't roll on gear right? It is assigned. Difference is without Dual Spec once you graduate from regular mode ops to HM Ops half of your defense specced tanks are now left out as they require two different specs to run. Normal mode ops has more benefit from 2 defense specced tanks, HM and NM ops have more benefit from 1 Defense specced tank and 1 Def/DPS specced tank. So essentially if you run HM FPs and regular raids AND also run HM Ops your tanks are having to contantly having to respecc depending on which you are doing at the time.
  23. Wait till you hit 50 and do HM/NM Ops. It goes from needing 2 tanks, 2 healers and 4 DPS to needing 1 tank that is defense specced, 1 off-tank that is defense/dps mix specced with DPS gear instead of tanking gear, 2 healers, and 4 ranged DPSers. So let's say you are a tank that went all defense spec because it is what you enjoy doing, when it comes then to doing HM OPs you just cut your possible positions in half without respeccing all the time. That is why dual spec is nice so you can be defense specced for running HM FPs, and then select your Def/DPS spec to be able to get into HM OPs.
  24. Well the problem is: 1. Niches don't really pay the bills any more in these days of publicly traded game comapanies. and 2. Games have largely become as refined as they can with the technology available. It's like asking why MS Office and Open Office are so identical in their features and functions. Games have pretty much now come down to pretty much just preference and have few differences. I don't play SW, and wouldn't necessarily have played it, because it is new and unique, I play it because it is a sci-fi MMO as opposed to a fantasy MMO.
  25. They are not balanced against they are mirrors of. I.e. all of their abilities should the same and identical with only different animations/name. They are, or shoulld be, balanced against the other classes. Note this is coming from a Guardian which is a mirror of (or is supposed to be) juggernaut.
