  1. All GW2 promoters:

    Have you ever played GW?

I understand that Gw2 is a different game than GW1 but the thing I hated in GW1 was the no gear thing, well none that mattered. Everyone was basically the same. Made things dull and boring IMO. i play MMORPG's to advance, be it gear or some alternate leveling thing, whatever. GW was pretty boring.

  2. There is no end game. 2 ops that take 2 hours each, so thats 4 hours done. PvP is kinda boring.

Also I can run WoW on High/Ultra settings where this game I can do low for me to have 40+ FPS.

And WoW looks betters. Illum PvP is impossible due to the 1 FPS. And no its not my laptop.

    Intel i5 quad core 3.3

    8 GB ram

    Radeon HD 6550

    1 GB dedicated

Thats so funny to see posts like this. *** are you doing here then? why did you even buy this game? didnt you hear that this was only a wow clone? Go back to wow and go be happy then. go run your 3 raids for the next year and then have fun with pokemon and pandas.

  3. Go play rift if you want to see what a real MMO is like for anyone to say this game has standard MMO features has never played another MMO besides this one or they haven't played one since 2004. So you fanboys can troll all you want but denying the obvious is just plain silly.

Again go play Rift then. Personally I found the game to be boring and uninspired. In fact I fell asleep many times when I was leveling my warrior. i set up a macro to play the game for me. All I had to do is run up to a mob and press...1...11....1.1111.....1..... and I won.

More features and adding more to your game (great RIFT dev team BTW) does not make a game good. It was a boring game at launch and when I quit.

  4. But what does a combat log have to do with an MMO or to put it another way what does not having one make this game less of an MMO ?

    It DOSNT

Because some people like to dissect their damage, chose different specs based around the combat log and what it does. So yeah, its a feature to some people that love to min max.

  5. You can't make a statement like "This game has everything I mean everything any other MMO has" and then subsequently rule out everything that is brought up, because you specifically asked what it didn't have.

You can say the game is playable without them, but that doesn't change the fact that they aren't there.

Yeah, I mean there are features already in that we dont necessarily NEED to win, but are nice to have. for example a Auction house. we dont NEED one, but its sure nice feature.

    Another missing feature, guild banks.

  6. At this point, a small company like Trion Worlds has built a more stable and feature rich MMO than Bioware. That's sad when you consider the resources and IP available to each company.

Too bad the game is boring. But you are free to play Rift, what are you doing here?

  7. It's because they successfully made ICC a treadmill where it took a lot of players a very, very long time to progress through it, but slowly and surely they did. This kept them interested because it was still a progression path, even if it was repetitive.

One of the big reasons Cata crashed and burned like it did is because they shut those progression paths down. 10 man and 25 man giving the same loot cut out a lot of progression, as did the difficulty level (until recent months). And so even though content came out faster, people felt like they had nothing to do.

It's not just about content per se. It's about the ability to keep progressing.

Grinding the same dungeon for months for a chance at +5 stat is not good gameplay and its not progression. Its simply grinding.

  8. wait, so youre telling me that with +/- 2 million subs at $15 bucks a month BW cant afford to hire developers to put end game content in place? comon, give me break.

Yeah, imagine that. Blizzard made like 1.5 billion dollars last year and they only managed to squeeze out 3 measly additions in a year and most of it was reskinned crap already in the game.

  9. then its a problem with expectations, because i do not see "regrinding raids because my piece wont drop every week" as worthwhile "endgame content" gimme a break!

i just dont get you people, you WANT tedium , or is it that you want the "Casuals" to not have it as the same time/ before you do?

just what im percieving , i apologize if wrong

I think you have a very good point. things are no longer an achievement if everyone can have it.

Its the whole e-peen thing. It loses its meaning if Timmy the pug can get it too.

I see it opposite, I see it as finally a game where they dont cater to people which have 10 hours a day to play and use these games not as games but a way of life.

  10. While that may be true, if you decided to have soup for lunch, which one would you choose? Probably the better one unless you were already sick and tired of eating it too often, and wanted to try something different even if inferior.

LOL, thats fine. Its anyones choice to go play wahtever they want. I was simply pointing out the flaw in the car analogy, which I hear too often on these forums. If your BMW is better, go buy a bmw and leave my honda alone, lol. My honda is soon getting a turbo kit, and new spoiler. Maybe in 6 months new ground effects.

  11. Because of the fact that MMOs have evolved since the WoW release, saying that we cant compare TOR with WoW is just like saying you cant compare a brand new car company that evolves ****** cars with an car manufacturer such as BMW, just because they're new in the buisness/ the car is new.

OFCOURSE you compare with the best the branch has to offer.

Oh, the old car analogy?

Sorry but software is not a car, its not even close. And you expecting 7 yrs of polish and additions to be in a new game is rather shortsighted and unfair.

Hell LFD was not added untill like 2 yrs ago and all of a sudden every game should have one at release?

A mmorog is like a good soup. Its built on the foundation of a solid base stock, then the addition of select meats, herbs, veggies to give it a robust deep flavor which is only attained in time.

  12. EDIT: I've done all those things with exception of Social grind, and I've accomplished it in less than a month. Won the game. It wasn't a horrible run, but SWTOR completely and utterly failed in the area of retention. I have 0 incentive to log on right now. Literally nothing to do.

so gratz, you beat the game in a months time. Maybe you should check out some other hardcore mmos out there.....Oh wait, there is none left. they are all going casual friendly for regular people like me, which BTW I only hit 50 monday.
