  1. That's basically the reason behind the pricing. BUT, Bioware has said they're working on a dual-spec system that will be available sometime post 1.3. Seems to me we could have a temporary "dual-spec" framework in place right now by simply reducing the costs of respecs. Yeah it would be clunky, but I'd certainly welcome it since I switch a lot between healing and DPS, depending on the makeup of the group I'm in.
  2. There is an iPhone app that seems to have pretty good ratings called Ventrilode. Only drawback is it's $4.99.
  3. Coolest MMO-related smartphone app I've seen is Ventriloid. Vent on your smart phone. No more "broken microphone" excuses!
  4. 1 Mergers are the last of the major triage items post-1.2 that I'm most concerned about. I realize it's a bit of a double-edged sword, but I honestly don't see any other way to get server pops to the level where people can more easily find FP/Ops groups to do things with.
  5. It's definitely a nice keyboard, and if it works for you, great. I personally prefer the Steel Series Merc keyboards with the dedicated gamers key set off to the left side. Between that and my Naga Mouse, I have all I need. http://steelseries.com/products/keyboards/steelseries-merc-stealth
  6. I have to agree with an earlier poster who said that a lot of PUG problems come from the people who try BT HM when they're way undergeared. Everyone takes spiky damage and usually the DPS can't beat the enrage timer. When the inevitable wipe happens, some people will look at the healer. Nothing you can really do about those situations except play the cards you've been dealt the best you can or cut and run. I've been in miserable PUGs and absolutely wonderful PUGs. PUGs are like a box of chocolates...
  7. The Bad News: The Sorc Static Barrier is the closest thing you'll get to ward-style healing... and yes, it's more akin to the WoW Disc Priest's PWS than an EQ2 Defiler/Mystic ward. The Good News: Like PWS, Static Barrier is insta-cast... and a real life-saver.
  8. Considering that games like Vanguard are still going, I'd say SWTOR has plenty of years of life left in it.
  9. XML would be easier to parse for sure, but the lag for a realtime log of multiple players would be horrendous. Especially for a game that has other lag issues already. Give me the fields, delimiters and any bitmasks that you're doing and I'll write a parser for it.
  10. This. Naga healing *is* essentially mouseover healing. The only difference is that you actually have to expend energy to press the left click button to select your target. Yes it's an expensive mouse, but once you get the mappings down, it's the best $75 you'll spend.
  11. I'm too busy dying on my healer to be arrogant...
  12. Yeah, I've had that happen. I usually just cast something like Healing Scan and it stops.
  13. I remember everyone talking about it in 77. It was out maybe 6 months (which was a LONG time for a movie) and my folks took me to it. I was blown away. After that, flashlights in the dark were light sabers, I had Star Wars bed covers, sleeping bags, Burger King glasses, you name it. Man I wish I still had that stuff, it'd be worth a fortune now.
  14. I have Boot Camp set up on my Mac Book Pro. I work and game in the Windoze world and spend the rest of my time in the Mac world. It's no big deal. And yes SWTOR runs just dandy.
