  1. Hey guys. I realize my title is confusing, so I will explain. I've been gearing up as a lvl 50 Shadow tank, and I'm about to upgrade from the purple mods/armor/enhancements from the Belsavis and Ilum dailies to something better. Champion Survivor's gear, as compared to the best gear you can get from the dailies, has clearly better mods and enhancements (lvl 56). But those are removable, and I could just put them into the PvE gear. So the comparison comes down to the armoring. For example, look at the following two armorings from chest pieces: Champion's Survivor Robes 136 armor 29 Endurance 30 Willpower 46 Expertise Advanced Force Wielder Armoring 23 (from the Ilum/Belsavis dailies) 126 armor 43 Endurance 40 Willpower My question is: which would you prefer for PvE? It boils down to higher armor vs. higher End/Will, because the Expertise is useless. Also, keeping the PvE armoring would allow me to customize my appearance, instead of just decking out in full Champion gear. Thank you in advance for your opinions.
  2. If I understand Kitru's post about additive vs. multiplicative correctly, that would make perfect sense. By that I mean that Statis would be far more useful when you first get it then it would be when you hit level 50. Or I am not thinking about it correctly?
  3. Thanks for the math Kitru. I always find your Kinetic Shadow posts helpful. I play a Shadow tank exclusively, and I quite like the play style, but 10% less armor is a non-trivial handicap. I have no experience with game development or computer programming, but increasing the additive value of Stasis seems like a fairly simple fix. Hopefully someone at BW/EA sees the numbers and agrees with you. As far as Kinetic Ward is concerned, the current charge-based system is pretty ineffective in AoE tanking situations, as you've pointed out. I'm not sure if this was a design choice, but assuming it was not, I think the idea of Kinetic Ward being a toggle with a "reserved" Force cost (similar to a lot of abilities in Dragon Age) makes some sense. There are probably a few options, many of which have been discussed by you or others in this forum. Of course, if Kinetic Ward and it's resultant negative effect on the Shadow's AoE tanking abilities are indeed what was intended for Shadow tanks, that would be totally fine with me. But I like to have a sense that the developers understand the effects their design choices have on the game, and that they have an opinion about the desirability of those effects. For that reason, I think posts like yours are highly constructive.
  4. Just thought I would add my voice to this thread. I agree with the community members who think that the difference between the animations on Project and Shock is a big deal. Shadows use Project a lot, and I personally believe that making Project take effect instantly would increase my enjoyment of a class that I already greatly enjoy. But the most important point about this debate has already been made: mirror classes should mirror each other in every important respect. I understand and appreciate that Bioware wanted to make the factions distinct aesthetically, and that the difference between Project and Shock certainly accomplishes that. But, again, Project and Shock are used so frequently that they really need to function identically for the Assassin and Shadow classes to be true mirrors. Bioware, thank you for making a game that I'm having a great time playing. I hope you'll take the issue raised in this thread seriously, because I think a lot of Shadow players are taking it seriously, myself included.
