  1. To be fair Acid blade was broken from the start anyway as it only applied every other time; ie fresh applications would do the base damage then apply the debuff; so you would not get the bonus from acid blade until you came around again for your second use of backstab.. So it was.. (Shh still is) broken and only applies its bonus damage every even use on a target.
  2. Eric or Tait or anyone that has the ability to effect change... Can we please have access to all of the old forums as at the very least reading material; as a 'plonk' I never made RTF's or Word Document back-ups of all the guides/walkthroughs that I either contributed to the CS forums myself or others that I found helpful as resources.
  3. Killing the droids as they come out drops a component which you are to collect , then run past the boss, and behind him you will find small cubical's which are normally shielded off, the boss is kinda sitting down at this point not really doing much because he has run out of energy that he would have otherwise gotten from the droids (*did I forget to mention you have to interrupt as many as you can?). Anyway you do this twice breaking both generators which are as I said in the shielded cubical's behind the boss which then allows you to finish him off. Generators are on the walls inside, do not spend forever in there as the shield will go up trapping you inside, "run in , right click the wall, run out" Or get some friends and SMACK HIM DEAD.
  4. This was a Question that actually had to make me think, an issue that I can think of, which would be a concern for you without more detail is'; Certain abilities that you activate will turn your character to face your target, others will not. With that in mind I quickly double checked on my Powertech and the Test Dumbies, If I use only the abilities that will Turn my character direction of facing, I have no issues doing what it is you appear to be asking, in order to use the other abilities which require me to be facing the target, I would have to use one that would Turn me First and then use the desired ability. You may also have issues with your Modifier Keys themselves, I use CNTRL for my push to talk over VOIP, if I use this while in combat my attacks stop, try using other keys as your modifier.
  5. Short answer, Nope. If you do wish to do this, then Biochem/BioA with slicing is a good combo if your subscriber and capable of having all 3 professions, as slicing will provide the credits needed to buy things off the GTN such as diplomacy materials if required
  6. Whatever you pick will be fine, its early days for you , so its more about having fun rather then being pro. There isn't really any wrong thing here for you, other then experiment and enjoy, your play style will change throughout they game as you progress anyway.
  7. Bounty Hunters are great classes to play, as I have both I really got into it playing 1 as the Cruel Vindictive take no crap story kind, the other was a helpful sort, but not likely to help you with a cat stuck up a tree. Both gave me a great sense of individuality within the game. With regards to the Advanced Classes, Powertech is the melee styled game, your up close and personal, anything done at ranged is 10x better when done toe to toe when the cool toys start lighting up. Mecenaries tend to be a Ranged class; You can rip a target to shreds by the time they get to you, but a punching bag you are not. (*it helps to have someone else in your group as the meatshield). Melee classes you really do have to be on the top of your game to play these things because 9/10 your standing in something nasty, so you have to have the ability to move and dps as you go to make your dps numbers viable for groups Certainly so at End Game. When I say MOVE!, you do not have time to think about it at End Game. Ranged is A lot more forgiving in this way, you are sitting back of the bus to cool for school, and there is less requirement for you to constantly move, meaning it can be easier to maintain higher levels of dps.
  8. As someone who was here when it was discussed in depth, you are fine; and that Mouse is one of the most widely used mice in this game. (*Even Promoted by SWTOR/Bioware). If your looking at doing macros like 12345621322111234121241231412 (no delays) Expect a world of hurt. Macro's like CNTRL + Left or Right Mouse Click (1.5 second delay) or (No Repeat) you will be fine. Due to your disability if you were to try a Macro like Use button 4 delay if not available use button 3 delay if not available use button 2 delay if not available use button 1 Massive delay Repeat Macro It would then enter into the "Gray" Area for which Bioware has never actually clarified as a no no; Some would make claim as to the terms of use blah blah blah, but it actually is fine, as you are NOT ACTUALY trying to activate more then 1 ability at any given time because of the delays, nor would a macro like this be creating spammed traffic to the servers. In the real world anyone would have to be a real tool if they said to someone "Your can not use your wheelchair (*for example) on the sidewalk because its a side-walk, all motorized vehicles should be on the road". Common sense would suggest as long as you are not blatantly abusing the system, add any device you are using is being used to assist you, then you are fine. **Yes Mako is Cunning, + POWER. Everyone/everything uses Endurance, but do not go out of your way to stack this, it happens naturally. You must therefore be playing a Bounty Hunter, so you would stack Aim + Power. or a Powertech, again would be Aim+Power. (**Untill much later in the game when other stats come into play such as Crit/Surge or Defence/shield/Absorb) Endurance happens naturally having more of this doesn't really do much of anything, and no making it bigger isn't always better.
  9. Leveling basic rules from someone who has every advanced class toon. DPS/Healers level 1-late 40's Mainstat+Power = a number, the higher that number = you equip it. Tanks Mainstat+Power = a number, the higher that number = you equip it. lol (to level 30ish, then switch to Defence) Alacrity= Junk Presence=Junk 90% of your damage or healing will come from Your barrels or hilts or armourings in your mainhand & offhand; UPGRADE OFTEN (* every 5-10 levels)
  10. In all honesty if you wish to game your arse off and your in no rush to reach the level cap, Then this is the game for you. Every Planet has Pleanty to do, some of the side quests of the planets have some of the best stories around. yes you can do just the class quests and some of the quests you come across to power level, hell with a few experience bonuses you can get away with just doing the Class Quests to level, but then you will miss out on ALOT of enjoyable gaming. Ideally I would suggest that you put some of those website down and get into some old fashioned discovery. I would suggest that you take 20 minutes and spend sometime adjusting the User Interface and Game Preferences as the Default Setting do set new folks up to fail; or atleast make things alittle harder to keep track of. Esc > Prefences> Controls "auto-loot on Right Click, Enable Are Loot" Easy choices, if you are disabled, Auto Target Closest Enemy will assist. Coversations, Tick Tick Tick for sure Map, These may be some of the things you were looking for earlier. Tooltip, Tick EVERYTHING (maybe not Group mission progress ) Operation Frames, tick Tick tick You get my point, also in Esc> Interface Editor, many things are disabled that you can turn on/move / adjust to make everyday life easier.
  11. I can help you with this Issue, or at least put forward a different thought for you. If this is a physical difficulty then I could suggest Physical Hardware may be for you, things like a Razor Naga even think there is a Left handed model. What this will allow you to do is set up the buttons on the side to do various tasks at the click of a single button, Including Cntrl + Right Click of Mouse. This is one option that would make your keyboard almost useless if that is how you wish to play. If you wished to go the other way and your are more Keyboard reliant then could I suggest the Logitech G510 or other variant, these have macro-able keys also which could be set up the same, with many of these products you are limited by your imagination. Please be mindful that there are Rules to consider if you wish to play SWTOR with these kinds of hardware, ones that Bioware take seriously, the main one is ADD DELAYS to Everything
  12. I smell BS there, I have no intention of drinking the Kool-Aid. The problem was made apparent very early on, but no one wanted to go back into the office. This stuff happening isn't a once off occurrence, it happens EVERY patch/new content; but hey have to remember a slot machines drop rate can be fixed and do a complete 180 in beliefs within 24 hours after everyone has brought the damn thing with real world currency? Kudo's for being open BW, but atleast don't expect everyone to think this is a clear cut issue between cheaters and non cheaters as the "Fruit from the Poisonous Tree" has been delicious for the high and mighty "oh we never did that" crowd. No one can be silly enough to think the mats they brought on the GTN were the 'good' ones?.. or that shiny new barrel or hilt .... Too Late, Too Slow, somedays the piss poor foresight goes Bioware's way, others go the players; so get off your soap boxes and lets get back to business
  13. My understanding is that it is meant to be a 1x thing per character; that is what I would hope for also. What has happened which you may have missed is they would kill NPC's on main's completing achievement, then load up a low level toon which hasn't done the Kill NPC's, this act would then reset the achievement lockout for their mains; so load up main again and continue killing. NPC respawn rates are ~ 7 minutes so faster then crafting or doing heroic missions. I don't feel that anyone is likely to complain to much over what has happened other then the haters as ultimately it's not that big an issue. "Are you Jel Wendy? are you Jel?.... Don't be Jel Wendy no one likes a hater mkay"
  14. Agreed this has been a disappointment, we were discussing this topic yesterday amongst friends and guildies as it was obvious that we were missing something to have a number that clearly wasn't going to compete with the current tally of 3.5 Million CQ pts. Nuts and bolts of it 3.5 million / Heroic Quest + bonus still = 2333.33 quest hand in's within 48 hours or more then likely which seems a lot more likely was 3.5 million / Kill 25 NPC's = 1166.66 / 16 players = 72. For the sake of round numbers say 5 minutes to kill 25 NPC's & log out in, and then back to main to reset the achievement it would be possible to get 3.5 million in 6 hours. Spread it out and have some fun over 2 days you could do it with 12 hours game time, obviously the more bodies you have the faster and more relaxed this would be to do. Ultimately what is done is done, at present our guildies and friends have been given the suggestion to do the bare minimum to get your rewards if you want them, otherwise right this week off entirely and salvage what you can. Bioware is not likely to reset the CQ pts, certainly not going to say woops our bad nor should they. The best you could honestly hope for is by some crazy foresight Bioware has the switch already built in that allows them to say, "Everyone's a Winner" this week and no one controls the Planets next week and the ticker tape parade on the planets to help advertise your guild has been cancelled. All that is likely to do is stop the top 3 from having a 4-6 hour advantage on killing the commanders, but at the end of the day they are still going to be grief'd by the have not's and the pvp'ers that just want to annoy folks trying to kill the commanders. So grab yourself a bourbon don't forget box of crayons and make pretty houses like the rest of us for the week
  15. A Challenge Mode for All Operations (*Excluding the latest and greatest to allow the continuation of discovery). **Also means from a development perspective a simple day watching Google/Youtube videos drinking Beer & eating chips determines how the challenges should ideally go when they are added to future content** Each Operation would be broken down into each boss fight only. Ie: TFB- boss 1 (*add a Tick Box)- boss 2 (*add a Tick Box) -boss 3 (*add a Tick Box) You would have to select your Role, as per any Standard LFG Queue. [sTART] [You the player are Phased into a the actual Room/Fight] The difference though would be everything not You is Scripted; and NPC based. You have commenced the Challenge as a Tank – Awesome, your phase in count down timer, commence fight. A simple Raid Marker Spawns over Target; at the same time a standard legacy tanking icon spawns at coordinates 005,55,77 (blah blah), simultaneously a Raid Warning appears “Target has CLEAVE or CONICAL Ability - face away from group” (*The goal of this phase is to not kill your fellow NPC comrades + to only take (x) amount of damage; there is a Total scaling system at the end or during be it a simple Bar Bronze(x) amount taken / Silver (x) amount taken / Gold (x) amount taken . - If you fail you make the Grade of Bronze you are instantly awarded a Fail… end of story – Restart. If you complete this (*taking note all the NPC’s are doing a basic what they should be doing) the next phase of the fight continues as if it would in a normal Operation. A new set of markers, raid warnings, & information so on and so on until a person has seen the fight in its entirety and completed it receiving a final grade of Bronze Silver or Gold (an average of their individual phase scores?). It wouldn’t even be that hard to factor in a few simple Raid Warnings, Markers or Queues for “Use Defensive Cool down Here! Or Interrupt Here! DPS Challenges – would be more of the same except maybe kill targets with a priority order with/via timers (*eg; 3 adds spawn, add 1 has a timer of 30 seconds add 2’s timer is 20 seconds, add 3’s timer is 10 seconds?), “interrupts” so on and so on. Phase Timers get to zero = fail, 1-10 seconds bronze, 11-15 seconds Silver, 15+ gold? (*if the class has a self-cleanse or combat rez equals bonus points? Healing Challenges - Heal this Now, Cleanse This, NPC’s die = Fail, NPC’s get below a certain health % = bronze, silver, gold. The Nuts and Bolts of all this is you would be providing the player base with an educational tool that players could utilize to better themselves and their familiarity with specific boss fights without the negative aspects that can and do come with Random Pick Up Groups, and this is a two edged sword because those wanting to learn their perspective roles get instant practice on whatever fight they want when it suits them without having to be at the mercy of Queues/Pugs/ Foul little sob’s. And for the more Veteran player we get more Achievements to increase their Ep’ing and a tool that allows us to be comfortable that everyone is at least up to speed with the basics. (*The Elitist in me wants this as a perquisite for being able to Queue for LFG SM Op’s). Ultimately I could see something like this going a long way to minimizing or removing a large area of problematic / negative game play. Taking note that in no way shape or form would I promote a super nerf’d version of any operation/raid as was done in that game starting with W or R or any of the others, because it creates an atmosphere where no one cares its ‘dumbed down’. It could be argued that currently Swtor is getting an influx to its player base from those other worlds, bringing such a cavalier play style; because that’s all they were accustomed to was dumped down raiding. Discussing the matter of rewards for such a thing, having the rewards level set at least 2 levels behind the current desired gear would work and feel justified/helpful for those fresh max level toons or simple Basic Coms – 10 for Bronze 15 for Silver 20 for gold? Come on Eric n Tait we see this as nothing more than a simple cut n paste job here for a 3 man team, taking maybe a month, 6 weeks on the outside – but no cake awarded if that long.
  16. Had the crystal every time, sometimes you get the buff others you wont, it will just teleport you back to the main floor
  17. I so hate to double up on questions but here goes Minor side note, you may wish to give the teams a heads up there is an issue with the Acid Blade 30% Armor pen buff. Acid Blade = 15 sec duration (*Applied via Backstab + Hidden Strike etc.) Backstab = 12 sec CD. This allows a 3 second window to ensure Operatives can maintain 100% uptime. The glitch is that even using the 3 second window for reapplication, your follow up Backstab although it reapplies the Acid Blade armor penetration buff clipping/resetting the already existing Acid Blade buff; Does not actually make use of the already existing armor pen buff and mine Drops in ~4k damage everytime this happens. EG of rotation and effect: *Stealth - Hidden Strike - Buff Applied *(Rotation)* Acid Blade - Backstab (Because of hidden Strike application buff used = 7kish backstab) *(Rotation)* Acid Blade - Backstab *Maintaining 100% uptime of Acidblade) = reapplication of Acid Blade Clipping previous buff ~1-2 seconds = 2.3kish Backstab With 100% uptime 2.3k'ish Backstabs should not be happening, same with the dps losses on Shiv + Laceration; these numbers end up being lower then the tooltip for each ability. http://www.fryingtime.com/?filename=combat_2014-06-11_03_00_39_446414.txt#03_06_35_699000 Small Fryingtime log provided to help , I understand you folks may not use Fryingtime, but it is a lot more user friendly then other logs available.
  18. One of the Mechanic changes we saw bleeding through is Brontes soft enrages @~30% growing in size and then starts firing off consecutive knockbacks, if second tank does not taunt, double knock backs will send you to your death, even then you have to get back quick to re-taunt. This wasn't a solid bleed through as sometimes Brontes works as intended, but it certainly will make you pay attention. Overcharged Beam or Consecutive Knock Backs. We did Identify a few other changes bleeding through, but discovery is all the fun. Hopefully folks will see the light hearted fun to be had and not turn this into a QQ fest; my intention is to merely notify or provide a simple friendly heads up.
  19. As per the title, NIM mechanics are Currently Bleeding though to SM + HM Dread Palace. This is nothing new as it has been a problem every time an Operation as gained NIM difficulty. Just though I would post this up as I currently haven't seen it listed anywhere.
