  1. Hello Everyone. With the implementation of 7.0 we got combat styles implemented, so I'm curious what combat style combinations would the most recommendable to the least recommendable, and of course why - if any one happen to know, please do share. It seems that the most optimal secondary to add to a character, should be what it's actually lacking in function with regards to DPS, Tanking and Healing, but certainly also depends on what adds the most to the playstyle of the character. Currently I have Jedi Sage (a pure sith), which dates all the way back to the beginning of the SW Tor, and since adding a secondary combat style is permanent, thus it's important to select the correct one for it. Despite it being a Jedi, it's dark side aligned, so naturally it makes the most sense to add a Sith combat class. I'm open to suggestions, and of course why you suggest it. Thank you. //Zora
  2. I agree with the OP about the having more weapon options is what the majority of people wanted, it's definitely what I wanted. Same goes for being forced to adopt a new skill set that you might not even like just to be able to use a particular weapon type. Personally, I would've preferred having more weapon and armor type options available to one class, rather than having to adopt another skill set or having to adopt a skill set I don't like just to be able to use particular weapon type. However with the above said, I think they just weren't able to make that possible due to technical limitations, and possibly because it might have been hard-coded into the game, that specific class (advanced class) will be using a certain weapon and armor type. If they could've just allowed more weapon types, I think they would've, because that by far would've been the least demanding to implement. Just having the option to choose another weapon and armor type available for use with your current class would've been a step up. They could even have made a quest line around it, basically you go through a certain amount of training which after completion gives the option to use that particular weapon type with any ability that requires a weapon. Adding an additional combat style to a character, is basically like multi-classing it, and then not, because you're forced to having only one active at a time, and it basically makes it so less characters are needed. Personally I would've liked having partial multi-classing as an option, so you could narrow down on more authentic SW concepts. //Zora
  3. The real reason why many aren't pulling their "weight" in OPS in my opinion comes from people being casual players, that really don't know whats really going on in OPS or that they just don't care because they're too casual.
  4. Well.. Did you actually take time to read it? FYI I am a sub. I just find it absurd and ridiculous that it for the preferred player is SO much more expensive. ...to the point that it gives the "preferred player" a whole new meaning.. That they prefer those players because they're those that are going to be paying way more than any other player. So this is in a sense both a warning for preferred players but also for Ea and BW to see how absurd their pricing is. Preferred player take this little "Piece of advice" - Subscribe.
  5. Hi there. I know this is a long post, but trust me its worth the read if you want know what makes the END CONTENT and weekly pass content insanely overpriced for the preferred player. I just made a little discovery that when you connect the dots it reveals SWToRs end content to be overpriced when compared to subscription. But its not just the end content, it is in fact also much of the other content that deals with the weekly passes such as: - Flashpoints - Operations - Space Missions - Star fighter - Warzones ...this is especially true even when you compare the cost for a pack of 5500 Cartel Coins for $39.99 USD versus the subscription per month which is $14.99 for 30 days. Now guess how much a weekly pass cost, just for one of them? 240 Cartel Coins for a SINGLE weekly pass, meaning 7 days of playtime with just one of the above - with all the restrictions a f2p or preferred player has. As a subscriber you can play all of the above as much as you want - UNRESTRICTED but as a preferred player you need a weekly pass for each week for each the above you want to have access to. There are 5 weekly pass types meaning you need 1200 Cartel Coins if you want to do them all for a week, or 4800 Cartel Coins for 4 weeks, which is less than a month, so lets scale in to fit the 30 day time frame. 30 days equals approximately 4.29 weeks. So if you wanted to play for 30 days with the weekly passes scaled to fit the 30 day time frame the minimum subscription period is then it would cost 1200 CC x 4.285714285714286 = 5143 CC. That means you'd have to the largest package, even without the scaling - which would cost you the $39.99 USD. ...Which you'd get for ONLY $14.99 IF you're subscriber. That only a $25 USD difference for the non-subscriber. And this is not even considering the amount of Cartel Coins it would cost to remove all restrictions from the game as preferred playerl, nor buying the expansions. But the amount potentially spent on this game for permanent upgrades is a lot higher than one would think. Please note that this post is not an attempt to bash at Swtor or any of its owners or third party partners in any way or form but to make it clear that people need to subscribe instead of purchasing weekly passes. But this makes me wonder.. Because I know that Swtor has a HUGE paywall for the free player and preferred player, in terms of removing restrictions from the game (upgrades) - which will upgrade the free player to preferred (when he makes a purchase). But not only that it also has a huge paywall per month if you as a preferred player want access to the same UNRESTRICTED Access to the same content subscribers has. Take an example - you want access to the end game content - Operations. That means you need to take the weekly pass 5 times. 240 CC x 5 = 1200 CC (that fits the next largest CC pack) So that would cost $19.99 USD for 2400 CC - Which would give you either 5 weekly passes with 1200 CC to spare or 10 Weekly passes. Alright, so what does this mean? Well it means that it would cost you $9.995 USD per month as a preferred player to be able to do Operations for one month - please note this does NOT take into account what it would cost to remove all the restrictions a preferred player also has (its a quite high amount of CC / Money you need to remove all restrictions plus to unlock expansions). So $9.995 USD per month as preferred player is not so much and I save around $5 USD... Well that may not seem as much, but considering that a subscriptions cost $14.99 USD per month its roughly 2/3 of the subscription alone and considering how much content you get for subscribing - I'd say it seems the end content is insanely overpriced IF you're NOT a subscriber. Because as a subscriber you get UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO ALL THE CONTENT! And I'm quite sure that the end content is NOT 2/3 of the whole content. Not to mention that as a subscriber you get all restrictions lifted. The part about saving roughly $5 USD, that only truly counts if you've NEVER spend any money on Subscribing nor money on Cartel Coins to lift certain restrictions - because if you have then there are numbers that have to be taken into account and those would vary a lot depening on the actual circumstance. So say you've never subscribed or never spent any money on CC to remove/lift restrictions then you're saving roughly $5 USD, with your experience of the game and functionality severely impacted, but then again you'd not actually be able to do Operations in the first place as you'd need to have a certain restriction lifted - one that lets the you use the gear you need to properly do Operations and use the gear you get from operations - namely the Authorization: Artifact Equipment which is 1200 CC cost unlock. So you see it wouldn't actually be roughly $5 USD but much less depending on how little you're actually are going to be playing the Operations as a preferred player. So why make it so expensive for preferred players? To make them subscribe? Why not just make it so you subscribe you get all the content, remove the restrictions (the paywall) from free to play and preferred players. In fact forget the preferred player part for now and focus on this: For all free to player put a level cap at somewhere between 15-20, limit it to two character slots, no trading/auction. Basically make it so it becomes free to try - then have people subscribe if they want to keep playing. Now we insert the preferred player part again, which is a player that get better discounts based on the amount time that player been an active subscriber (of course it will cap at some point). This model is already a lot appealing than the current. And if this doesn't really fit your marketing plan then at least scale the weekly passes proportionately down in relation to the subscription and relation to how much content preferred players actually get from the weekly pass in contrast to what the subscriber does. Because as it is right now with the current prices - weekly passes are seriously OVERPRICED. Please note that if you think they make most of their money on subscriptions then chances are that you're wrong, because the Cartel Market is raking in a ton of money, I may be wrong but I seriously doubt it as I see a CC to credit flow in the game via the GTN services provided in-game. Thank you for reading - hope it was informational and enjoyable. Feel free to comment - but if you must comment something negative then at least do so in a constructive manner. [EDIT] For your information - I am a subscriber, I just find Ea and Bw's pricing for the weekly passes absurd. To the point that make it seem as its the preferred players they're going to profit the most from.
  6. You can try the following.. 1/ Restart your computer and then log into the launcher and see if that helped. 2/ If restarting did not help then you can try to remove bitraider as described in the guide thats linked to in the discription - this will force the launcher to verify the installation and repair it if needed. 3/ If werifying the installation (+repairing it) doesn't help either then head to Answers HQ to find a solution or ask a question there to get further assistance - link is also in this thread. /Zor
  7. IF you have this issue too then To FIX this issue please follow >> THIS GUIDE <<.. If this does not fix your issue then you'll have to try and find a fix at ANSWER HQ.. I hope this helps you.. /Zor
  8. [uPDATE] It has repaired the installation and I was able to launch it windowed, however now it's in quickplay mode at 0% installed even though it was fully installed - which is quite odd. [uPDATE 2] Restarting the game seem to have fixed the quick play issue. Also the game have been reverted back to fullscreen mode - no crash. So far so good. [update 3] Solved! /Zor
  9. Thank you. I've deleted the bitraider folder to force the verification process, so the launcher is now verifying the installation. In my opinion its not a very user friendly way to have it verify the installation. The launcher should have and actual button to have it verify the installation, which basically just calls a script to delete the files the files necessary to start the verification process. I will update this thread once it's done verifying. /Zor
  10. [uPDATE] I just tried to launch the game where I hit ALT + Enter key when the load screen occurred - to make it change to windowed mode from Full screen mode - Result was still a crash to desktop. However this time I got an actual error code - with the message to contact customer support. The error code was C5. /Zor
  11. Greetings. Before patch 4.0.2 I had no technical issues with the game. But after the patch and the game has updated my game crashes almost immediately after reaching the load screen to character selection - without any notification. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know whats could be causing this and how to fix this? Because following the troubleshooting guide have not fixed the issue. I appreciate all constructive help. Thank you. /Zor
  12. Greetings. To start with I don't know if if this have been posted here yet, but this is something that seems to have been happening since 1.0 so I think it deserves some attention. The issue is that when one is doing OPS Missions/ Group Flashpoint missions / Heroic Group Missions while being a part of the group that is actively working on the mission - IF one is not close enough to the mission area, regardless of effort or activity when the mission updates, then that player is forfeited the mission updating. Like when an OPS group is fighting a BOSS, and it so happens that some players get killed while fighting it, just before it's killed and thus can't make it back in time - then those players respective mission won't update, even if they very close to the mission area. Meaning that all they have been trying to achieve will have been in vain for those players that were "CHEATED" from getting the mission update. Not only have they wasted a lot of their time, but also alot of credits in repairs, maybe even more than what the mission reward would be, so not getting the mission update means that they don't even get the mission reward that would make them at very least be able to offset their expenses. In my opinion I think it's unfair in the extreme because these players lose so much and gain absolutely NOTHING except from EXPENSES. IF this is not FIXED it will CONTINUE to happen to players, just a matter of time when it happens again - and it's very likely that some of these players are actual subscribers - meaning they're PAYING CUSTOMERS and it's very unreasonable to subject PAYING CUSTOMERS this sort of experience. Because it may be that they are having fun while doing the mission but when this sort of thing happen, that fun comes to a grinding halt, to then go in the opposite direction with great speed. Several people I know who're subs have had this happen to them, including my fiancee, and their frustation and anger made them seriously not want to play the game, even though they made the decision to still play the game, after they cooled off. In my opinion I think this should be a priority to fix since it ruins all the fun when it happens. Anyone who've experienced this issue please comment with your experience with it. /Zor
  13. In my oppionion they've done an amazing job with this expansion, despite all the issues. I see what they're trying to achieve with the many the changes, it's for the better and some sacrifices has to be made for change to happen. I do sincerely hope they compensate for losses during this change - like commendations spent on equipment and modification for companions because they were under geared.
  14. I have been able to modify my companion's appearance, though there were some weird issues when trying to use the "unify color" feature, like it makes the piece all red colors. I have the same experience when it comes to certain vendors missing, namely the equipment vendors. On that note I find it more disturbing that all commendations spent shortly before the update on equipment and modifications for companions in attempt make the companions useful again (they were under geared) is lost and might not be compensated. In my opinion they should be. Both me and my girlfriend have spent a lot just lot last night improving main/alt characters and their companions using commendation points. Anyone know anything about that?
