  1. Amen Sir. Unless the healer is weak its the worst strategy ever.

I think DPS should look at enemy buffs and switch to one of the unguarded DPS, if tank or who is guarding is clever will switch. Usually he does it when you are around 50% of his health. he will switch guard from healer.

But I would go for the weaker class in this order Light, Medium, and Heavy Armor (to make a simple category).

What you need to do on healer is have some1 bright disturb him and interrupt his big burst heals.

Going for healers is dumbest strategy ever versus a strong healer or a good set up of players...

Furthermore, when facing good teams going for the healer first often means a dps is over-extending, which either results in becoming isolated (then blown up) or forcing their own healer to break lines and expose themselves too otherwise avoidable damage. Either way, its a bad scenario and I've lost countless games to blind blood lust.

  2. I'm flattered for your attention and your cross-server epeen. Although, don't expect many from Goof to get baited into more than a forum reply. Truthfully man, I'd really enjoy bigger competition. The reason many of us became hardcore pvpers is that problem solving and challenge keeps us interested. The few that had a somewhat geared Imp, of which I think theres 4, made the jump. But the reality is most of us have played since release and so we are pretty entrenched in the community and our network of alts. No one is just going to drop all that just because you called us baddies.

  3. Sounds good!

These are long overdue, but I'm glad they're coming.

Next big task (season 2?) cross server queues, please.

Cross-server queues are indeed necessary. Even WoW's mammoth population, contained servers were insufficient to support a robust and healthy pvp community. Thus they introduced server clusters and everyone benefited.

  4. I cannot speak for pve. I've pvp'd exclusively since the game's release so all opinions are within that context.

Too reliant on cast times. This is most apparent against coordinated teams which stagger interrupts and player controls.

We need more instants and/or interrupt immunity.

Too vulnerable to controlling effects, too many controlling effects overall.

Trauma probe, good concept, poorly executed. It simply doesn't heal enough to justify the talent points. Worse yet, its barely worth a cast without talents. Only taken in the first place because all other options are even more lack luster.

Ammo is entirely too unforgiving. Prolonged high damage engagements and/or one cast too many means we're dead in the water. Useless. Not even able to heal ourselves. The time required to regen to functional levels is too long. In a regular warzone its quicker to roll over and permit yourself to be killed. In an arena, that's not an option.

The deadzone must be addressed. If medical probe is locked out when infusion, advanced medical and kolto bomb are on cool down commandos are literally left without a heal to cast, except for hammer shot which won't keep someone alive. This is a frequent occurrence. Especially against players that are cognizant of this vulnerability.

Personal experience healing in an arena ; even if I manage to successfully heal my team, it was a frustrating experience. I don't enjoy it. Feels like running in water. And that's against average to inexperienced players. When versing veteran pvpers, its miserable.

  5. People who are scared of losing are a big part of the problem (like you I'm guessing). If 10 teams were in que and 6 of them were absolutely horrible they would never play the good teams.

Just because MVP is amazing doesn't mean Goof or other good players from The Harbinger can't have reasonable matches against many of the teams from the Bastion and continue to improve.

Why would they stay here when there is like 20 people on this sever who have ever even tried ranked? It is better to lose than to not play at all. Guess who the real losers are. You and all the other people who are too scared too ever put in a team.

His attitude is unfortunate. He doesn't deserve a legitimate response but I'm feeling generous so here it is. We've maintained a very civil and friendly attitude in arenas. Regs ..yea I hate the scrubs and I'm guilty of talking ***** but we respect people that make an honest attempt in ranked. As far as avoiding the "big bad guilds" ? Some of us don't want to transfer because we're married to our giant alt network, want to pve, don't want to leave friends behind while others have already transferred and are actually in the guilds he mentioned. Remaining here has nothing to do with pwning newbies, at all. In fact, we often grow bored and will switch to alt Imps specifically in search of a challenge. Heck, we've jumped on our alts and ran wacky comps in ranked to give other teams a sporting chance.

If you drop the attitude and actually try asking us for advice you might be surprised at how helpful we can be. Yes, we can be ***** but that is not the rule. Whisper me and provided I'm not in a the middle of a ragemoment I'll help you out.

All Jollys are controlled by a central consciousness.

  6. From what I've seen, healing merc/mandos have been doing well in arenas. The ability to keep a single target alive through focus fire is a strength of mandos/mercs.

They perform well enough against B competition, upgrade to a coordinated, experienced team and a commando healer isn't just challenged, they're stripped, flayed and put over the fire. Nothing we can do. as in NOTHING.

If the devs think otherwise, stream your best CM against a top tier pvp guild. I'd like to see your precious metrics hit the mark in a real fight.

  7. Personally, I'm disappointed and my patience is finally exhausted. I didn't expect an overhaul but I did hope for some quality of life adjustments: the ability to cast our free-heal on ourselves at the very least. I enjoy the class, but getting laughed at for offering to heal an arena is discouraging. And even in the moments I've had a chance to 4v4 on my CM, it has been an exercise in frustration (when facing good players).

So, Bioware can you throw us a bone? Anything coming down the pipe that's worth waiting for?

  8. At least there is an imp guild that can give some comp... Or is at least trying to anyways.

Yes, they're trying which is good. I want more comp so more power to them and I hope they continue to improve. Having said as much, my OP is in unaugmented vanilla partisan gear and I outhealed both high valor guys significantly. And they refused to heal or support me in anyways - not conjecture I asked for heals/peels and they told me no. If hadn't been left to handle my harassers by myself my output would have been higher. Still, they're probably a worthy fight to half the rep pug teams that queue, which is a benefit to the server.

  9. Medals don't necessarily reflex your impact on a wz. A jug tank doesn't earn medals for hanging back in void star tunnels CCing the opposing team so an ally can plant bombs undisturbed. But lingering around your team's single node in civil war while everyone else is fighting for another does. So bad example.

Anyways, no, except in the rarest exception, keybinding is far and away superior to clicking. I'd rather not have clickers in the WZ tbh, outliers not included of course.

  10. Your efforts are laudable. I also qualify as a hardcore pvper and I have been since early access. Truthfully, I never expected to play swtor for more than a month or two. It was going to be little more than a momentary distraction and adventure of the star wars variety. I was surprised to discover I disliked the pve, but had a blast in pvp. My very first 50, a powertech, leveled in the warzones and so have all my alts. I've had passing attempts at that pve stuff, but setting aside any thematic value, its not to my liking. If it wasn't for the pvp, I would have long ago unsubbed and never returned.

This isn't without reason. Whether by accident or design, Swtor has a unique pvp formula (not the same as class balance) that just works. I never thought it without flaws, but between the map design and combat mechanics the game can provide great player verse player interaction. In fact, only in Dark Age of Camelot did I find myself having so much fun in pvp.

So my question to Bioware is : what the hell are you thinking? Do you not realize you're sitting on a diamond in the rough? Nurture the crap out your pvp system and be responsive to your players, because lets be honest here, many of us can run circles around the best your team has to offer in a warzone. Do that and you may be surprised at how many former customers return. I frequently receive messages from your former players , logging in under F2P just to chat with other vets and check out the state of the game. They often disappear again. Well BW, ever consider giving them a reason to stay?

Yea, I signed your petition and I will spread its word to my server.

My competition is unsubbing one player at a time and that will be the final nail in the coffin for me. I can see myself playing for the foreseeable future, but I need contentious matches and tough figths, which means pvpers must stay, which means content, incentives, which finally means ( for the love of pvp gods), attention from Bioware.

Give us more pvp dailies, more credit and leave 8m ranked alone. At least we'll have an option to organize kickball when we so choose.

  11. That may be true, but I think we can agree that a lot of the people in warzones are bad enough where their opinion shouldn't really count. :p

I agree that the time to fix things or address concerns is disheartening (Look at how long bubble stun was around...they didn't even quick-fix the improper resolve gain.)

I don't think that imbalance is widely accepted though...just look at all those threads calling for smash monkey nerfs.

I meant that imbalances are normal in MMO's and players can accept that reality as part of of territory. Its when the developing team ignores these issues for long periods of time there's a problem. The bubble stun is a great example. Something so game-breaking but easy to repair should have quickly been fixed. That was embarrassing for them. I've long thought that EA could get more out of the game if they replaced a few people.

  12. Unfortunately I couldn't find the reddit poll results that showed only 10-15% of those polled play pvp exclusively. I think it was somewhere at the 50-60% mark for pve only.

There aren't more pvpers...they just happen to QQ the most.

15% pvp exclusively but the total players that actively pvp is nigh 50%. Half of the games population is interested in WZ. Yes, that's a significant number obviously.

Furthermore, we can accept imbalance, we cannot accept BW's indifference. Frankly, they almost seem flippant towards it.

  13. I believe you forgot to read the line that was in a larger font.

Bioware has done a great job of ruining the player trust. That disclaimer is meaningless with their trackrecord. Sure, they might have more coming down the pipe, but considering how long smash went untouched (and is STILL too strong) and commando healers ...well yea commando healers, need I say more?

I'm not holding my breath for any reasonable class adjustments. Its been one BW's weakest points since release, second only to pvp. And 2.4 is a pvp content update. So, anything more than a halfassed effort to balance the classes? Probably not. And be fair before defending them, they've earned our cynicism.

  14. I think complete removal of the 8man ranked is overkill. It doesn't need to be a point of concern for the dev team, but since its already implemented they might as well let it remain as just another option for us to use. Having said as much, the entire 4m division is a good idea. Easier to balance and more appropriate to our population numbers. But like Airwolf said, I don't lose anything because of my favorite class/spec precludes me from legitimate efforts in 8man ranked.

Bottom line, I dare say BW made a good call. Hard to believe I know and it only took them nearly 2 years
