I'm only guessing of course but i would say the reason to stagger them.. Fill up the servers and then add more is to ensure they don't end up with servers that are way over crowded or too low of a population as i stated before.. Lets say they open it up.. put on 100 servers based on the pre-orders and a good guess at the number of xmas purchases.. lets say they do that.. the problem is they have no idea what servers people are going to pick.. alot of people will pick stuff based on the name alone.. by doing it this way they force a certain amount onto servers thus ensuring they have enough pop to be fun but not laggy.. and when the new people come on they will pick the servers with the least wait time which are the new ones with little pop.. If they have one or 2 new servers at a time this works.. if they add 20 new ones you are going to end up with over pop and underpop and people will have to be moved which is the worst thing ever if you have ever been through it. I'm sure this will be going on long after the 20th.. adding one or two servers here and there. Its perfectly logical and a sound plan if that's why they planned it that way.

Good post, I would also like to add another reason given by one of the devs is that they also want to tune population levels by doing this over several days they can find out how many servers to add. If they add too many they are going to end up with servers that are over populated and ones that are way underpopulated.. by filling the servers and adding new ones only when needed it will prevent that situation where people end up having to move their toons because there is no one on their server.

I'm with Bioware on this.. For all the complaining about not getting access today is wasted. There were no suprises! I've been reading the complaints for hours about how bioware did this and that, but the thing is.. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and exactly how they said they were going to do it. How can you ask for more than that? I realize that not all of you know that this day was mapped out and explained for weeks by the devs in the forums.. I realize that not all of you know what a "Troll" is and that these forums are loaded with them. I realize that some of you who did read the posts on the release didn't understand them completely and ignored most of the important stuff.. like oh say.. what they were going to do and how. In summary, Bioware was honest and straight with us from the start about what would happen. The only thing that was unexpected was the start on the 13th instead of the 15th. Above all, don't worry.. soon you will be complaining about other stuff while you play.

There is a great Pre-Made pizza place across the street.. $7 for a huge deluxe pizza. only 10-15 mins in oven and you got something thats better than any delivery and faster too. My only wish is that i could pull an eric cartman and sit with a hole in my chair and have mom on constant bucket duty for the first 2 weeks..

I know that some of us have played in the beta tests.. But can we just for this one day, the very first day suspend the word "Noob". After all those that play today are all on an equal footing.
