  1. I've only recently returned to Swtor after a long break, but after a month now, I've been seeing this happen a lot in GF messages and I think this needs to be said: Stop using "code" for no "first timers". I get it, you want to run stuff, gets your comms, get your gear, blah blah blah. Its the nature of the game. However, with the announcement of a new expansion some older players are coming back and are out of date, or new players are joining for the first time. If you don't want rookies on your team then flat out say so, you don't need to "code" the message by saying: "Must have 190+ gear", or "Must have Achievements" (what does that mean?). It doesn't take long to do a explain to ppl what to do, or not to do. Even faster if its just one person, all you need to do is tell them what to look out for and where to/not to stand, OR if you have a voice system, get them in so you can tell them. First timers will never learn unless you let them in the group in the first place and even then they need to know what to expect. Explanations take maybe 5 minutes, tops. Every FP or Ops doesn't have to be a speed run. Heck if its a guild event, you might even get a new member out of it. My point is, stop expecting everyone to be pro's. And if someone in your group says; "It's been awhile" or "It's my first time" then teach them. There is nothing wrong with slowing down, and the group will be better for it.
  2. I've got 2 I'm most proud of: 1: (This happened back before any expansions. When Eternity Vault was the hardest mission.) I was running around on Ilum doing my quests when ppl started asking for a healer (I'm Sage heals) for False Emperor HM, I was lvl 49 (75% to 50) at the time. I knew I couldn't run that so I kept going. After a few minutes they started asking the people on he planet directly. I told them I was willing to help, but I was only 49 and I couldn't. They then asked me how close I was to 50 and when they heard I was close they agreed to run Battle of Ilum so I could get my level 50. We did great, no problem, no one died at all. These guys, all one guild, were really impressed with me. Even though I was a fresh 50 still in orange gear, we went into False Emperor HM. We kicked that FP's butt, 1 person died the entire time and it wasn't me. By the time we finished the guild was begging me to join them. I felt invincible. After some convincing I joined my first guild in SWTOR. And that's when I learned not only was I good at being a healer, I was damn good. PUG's that got me, finished with the best games they ever had. I doubt I'm still up there, but I've been in love with healer ever since. 2: Recently: I love exploring, and getting datacrons, but I heard so many stories about how much of a pain they are to get. Well I recently decided I was going to quit dodging the issue and set out to get all the crons in the game. After a weeks of work, two days on Makeb alone (If I ever meet the BW guy who made the Endurance datacron challenge there, kiss your balls goodbye, I swear), I finally got ALL datacrons. That Stronghold item looks great in my bases.
  3. They all come from the same places, can't we go after the websites? Shut them down at the source. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to throw a few DDoS attacks their way to shut them up. As much as I hate thinking that way, this is virtually a all out war for control of the game.
  4. With the newest CC pack released it brings a new design of weapons that have animated and moving parts. I have to say however, this set is very boring and almost useless. Take the blaster/gun weapons for example. In previous packs the animated weapons had laser sights or pop up target reticals. In this current pack, most of the guns just get a tiny spinning cylinder, and I mean tiny. It's so small you'll almost never notice it except for cutscenes and weapon previews. These are not worth the trouble, IMO. The only exception I see is the assault cannon with its spinning barrels and pistons. Now I'll give props for trying something new and different, don't get me wrong but in the end I'm disappointed. Maybe for future guns, if you can't change the gun itself, why not change the "bullet". Try different shapes or effects on the shots fired. Maybe group the shots closer and give the gun a "semi-auto" effect to it. There are different "bullet" effects in Star Wars. In New Hope the Troopers fired a stun shot that was a blue ring. Maybe something like that. For the Saber users, I raise my eyebrow at a spinning hilt. I'm sure I speak for most, not all, saber users when it comes to the saber weapons, we prefer the effects to be on the blade like previous models. You can expand upon those easily. Instead of a blade where just the bottom had a smoke effect, extend the smoke down the entire blade. Or the electrical surges (from the Ziot) let that run down the entire blade. You've been doing multiple colors a lot lately, how about a design where it makes one of the colors unstable and it distorts it, or makes it fade. (Even though I know that would be difficult to program). My overall point is, animated/effect weapons are awesome. But when you can't see the effect, what's the point?
  5. Sorry man, but your screwed already. You can't even open the CE store without having the CE. It came with a code that gave people access to the store. I'm sorry to say, but you wasted your credits if that's what you were going for. The ONLY thing you gained access to is the VIP vendor (with the car), a private GTN (so you have less lag), and a mod station.
  6. Someone was running a Santa style in a Op the other day and I did a closer look. His chest piece, best I've seen for Santa btw, was Calo Nords with a Red/White dye. It was all but perfect.
  7. I also just recently returned and my advice is start off with some simple quests. Depending on when you last played, there have been a lot of changes to your characters abilities. I'd head somewhere simple like Ilum or Black Hole and get used to your new adjustments and reused to your hotbars.
  8. If that one planet has enough content in it that gets someone 5 levels higher, and at 48+ that can take awhile, I'd say thats within the ball park. Lets not forget that all the details have yet to be given.
  9. I fully get what your saying, but there is a problem to your logic. Right now, the cartel market gives out so many high grade crafting materials that people are undercutting on the GTN like crazy. So much in fact that it has gotten to the point where the GTN's prices for high grade stacks are being sold for less then the amount you would get for selling to a vendor. And if its not less, the difference is under 1k so its not even worth it.
  10. No way/ I also played FFXI and the NM's were a pain. It got to the point in that game that if you didn't have items that dropped from NM's you were never allowed into groups, and as said before almost 95% of the NM's were camped by the RMT's. Your only chance to get one was if you parked yourself at the spawn point the day before a update and hope it was up when you logged in. No, we have enough ninja looters as it is, SWTOR doesn't need this.
  11. I did some item brosing tonight at the fleet shops and found some store were selling various LightSabers. I took a closer look and noticed the crystal colors they were listing. One said LtBlue (Cyan) and another said Black-Blue (like the pre-order crystal). Personally I wouldn't mind a Black-Blue saber at all.
