  1. @ POPsi .... I'm glad -you- think the win to lose ratio is 50/50, but that's just not true... Win to lose is either close to 90% winning or 90% losing, depending on whether or not you run with a Premade or run as a pug... I would say that it can varies 10-20%+ depending on the day... You could have a terrible day and only win 10% of the matches you enter, or have a "Great" day and win 30% of the matches you enter, as a PuG that is... Which again, is entirely unacceptable.., @BioWare - If you intend to bring this game into an acceptable range of subscriptions, you need to start looking at what your players want and start putting things out.... Putting out a new op, because 10% of guilds in the -entire- game farming the newest Operations on Nightmare mode, is not a reason to bring out a newer Operations. Waiting until that number is closer to 25% is a much better range. So how about fixing the minor stuff before you bring out huge new stuff?
  2. To the rest of the people out there... Those of you who feel the need to troll the OP - example : "Working as intended"... Yes, this PvP system -is- working as intended, but working as intended is not always "Working at peak functionality". To the person saying that the OP needs to get some internet friends, maybe this person doesn't have time to invest 100-200 hours of gameplay time just to play on a competitive level. Which is exactly what is being required at the current point. Some people -do- like to play casually and just hop on to PvP for a few hours, and then bail... -If- done that way, then it would take -MONTHS- to get to the point where they -MAY- be able to play competitively against other players... Why? Not because they can't get those internet friends, but because people won't accept a half recruit, half battlemaster geared person into their premade group. Why would they? And even if most players were willing to invest months into a game to finally be able to play it competitively, by the time they reached the point that they originally intended to get to, there would be better and newer gear. which basically means many more months would need to be invested, at which point, the same would happen... Newer gear would come out, and they would be in an endless cycle of never being able to catch up to the point in which they would be capable of playing competitively. At which point, they would either give up half or more of their life to invest hundreds of hours to play the way they wanted, or they would do the more likely thing... Which is quit the game.
  3. You know, I can completely agree with this statement... On an average day, I play for at least 7-8 hours, during which time I will probably play about 16-20 Warzones... Of which, I will only win 2-3 of them... The two to three that I do win, is when I am in the same group as a premade or when the entire Warzone is comprised of nothing but PuGs... So to put it bluntly, a 10% win Ratio is entirely unacceptable. It has taken me over 30 hours of gameplay to complete my weekly, and again... This is entirely -unacceptable-... From here I will list a few ways that I believe will solve this issue... 1 - Group Premades against Premades and PuGers against PuGers 2 - Group Recruit geared Personel against Recruit Geared Personel and War Hero against War Hero... 3 - Open up PvP Queue for Cross Server Play Now, I realize that there are a few issues with what I have stated above... However, I have thought this out past what I have just stated, so I offer solution to what I'm saying... First, I would like to address my idea about "Recruit Geared" against "Recruit Geared"... I do realize that basically -no- one is in one full suit over the other until they reach full War Hero, so I recommend different levels be taken into consideration... 1 - If your valor level is at a certain point at level 50, then you will pumped up to fighting against people who are in Battlemaster gear (Note that it actually takes a certain level of Valor to buy and equip Battlemaster gear)... I'm not sure what that level is, but it should be soon after that point in which you are forced to go head to head against others with that same level of valor... For Example - Let's just say that level 50 is the required level of valor to equip Battlemaster gear... Well, we all know that exactly at level 50 you won't be -full- battlemaster, but will be pretty close if you've saved up a bit... So by Valor level 55 you should be equipped in a Full suit of Battlemaster Gear... Therefore, at valor level 55, you are fighting people who are Valor level 55-64... War Hero personel fight against War Hero personel... Well War Hero takes a bit longer to gather so split that up a bit more... Group Valor level 65-74 against those who are the same... This will prevent a huge gap of people who are fully geared out in full war hero going up against new players who have barely yet to learn their class in a pvp perspective, have little to no gear, and thusly pissing them off to the point that they refuse to play that aspect of the game. Basically... Make use of the system that you have already placed in game, make use of the Valor system and group like leveled valor personel against those who are the same! Now... A second issue, which is the third option that I provided, will actually help alleviate the queue times when it comes to splitting up the Warzones at level 50 like this... Because the valor levels are taken into the equation when fighting against other people, allowing cross server queues will widen the gap of how many people get to queue up. Finally, I would recommend implementing a system that allows the overwriting of this "Rigid" system when there aren't enough people queueing up... For example, if it is 4-5am in the morning and not many people are on, and it just doesn't seem to be enough people queuing up at one level of valor, but the system sees that there are enough people queued up to fight anyways, as a final option it should go ahead and allow all valor levels to fight against each other as a last option.

On another note... I don't like to invest 300 hours before I get to the point to where I'm half decent in gear... I like being able to hop on a few times a week, for about 6 hours each time (2-3 times a week at most) and being able to play and win a little bit... I don't want to have to invest a few hundred hours to get to the point where I find out that I'm still worthless... Please catter to casual gaming.... I wouldn't recommend changing much at all actually... I would recommend making it so that you can queue PvP across servers (Battlegroups) and also that each person in a Warzone is within the same level of gear as the other players... I think personally, this would drop a -lot- of that tension. There are new level 50s all the time, and they want to PvP too, but they don't want to get mauled for a few hundred hours before they can finally do something... So if the Developers made it so that everyone in a Warzone was around the same gear level, then it would -really- lighten this load quite a bit, as well as making it easier to balance classes.

    PvP

Ok, I know already that I'm going to get flamed like no other for saying this, but I feel like it needs to be heard... I remember when I used to play when this game first released and there was a -very- small difference in gear level between those who had PvP'd for a long time and those who hadn't. I was able to destroy people very quickly, but at the same time, I could get killed quite easily too. However, now that I quit and returned (Which wasn't due to me being upset, I just couldn't afford the game at the time) I have noticed a few things since I started back up PvP'ing on my assassin. 1 - Gear difference between characters DOES matter. If I go up against any class who is in WH, I am going to get destroyed... Doesn't matter what my skill level is (Which btw, it's not hard to learn a rotation, when to blow which cooldown, and when to ignore those cooldowns because you are getting spanked by 3 on 1) .... 2 - Assassins themselves have somehow been completely and utterly -shat- on since I last played them. I remember when I first started playing this game, I actually had a chance of killing someone who outgeared me, if I blew my CDs properly and they already had their CDs on cooldown. Now-a-days.. If I don't adhere to a very specific hybrid pvp spec, along with being in a stance that has nothing to do with damage (Being in Dark Charge), then my chances of survival are null. In fact, I've tested it out against nearly every class and advanced class, and there are -very- few (Mainly other Inquisitors and the Republic side equiv) that I can stand up against. I get BLOWN away before I can do anything... I've, on multiple occasions, fought someone who didn't even drop below 75% and I was already dead. That's with me blowing 6 different cooldowns, along with my vanish... It's sickening to see how gear based this game is, and for the classes/advanced classes that -aren't- gear based, it's because they are so OP that they don't need the gear anyways... AKA Marauders and Juggs... In fact, it has gotten to that point so much that the character I am leveling up -now- is a Marauder... Now honestly, that's not the only reason I decided to level a marauder, in fact the main reason was because I wanted to get all 4 buffs. BUT, the thing is... And what I'm trying to get at here, is that PvP is -WAY- to gear based, and even more so Assassins have been -shat- on since the release of this game. I understand that in light armor, I should die quickly, but the amount of damage should be equivalent as well... If I fall and shatter like glass, I should be a major threat... Not something a healer laughs at while I am attacking them, as they continue to heal their friend instead of themselves, because they know they can cast one of their small heals, get rupted, and then cast their largest heal and heal all the damage I've done to them in the last minute and a half.
