  1. I think it was more of not only was Palpatine replacing Dooku (as an apprentice) and turning Anakin to the darkside but also removing a threat to him. Shown in the Clone Wars series (I know some of you hate this show but hear me out) Asaj Ventress is Dooku's apprentice and eventually she starts becoming too powerful for Palpatine's taste and orders Dooku to kill her off. Soon after Ventress is out of the picture (or is she...) he immediatly gets another apprentice Savage Oppress and trains him as well. He wants to eventually overthrow Palpatine (as he should, he is a Sith) but rather than being covert about it (although Palps is always ahead of the game) he reveals too much. Many things contributed to his execution as always Palpatine had nothing to lose and everything to gain. He removed a potential threat, got a stronger apprentice, and many secrets died with Dooku. The ultimate win.
  2. Yes 18 seconds of damage that allows every trooper in your group in pvp at 30 meters to fire a HIB at the same target is terrible... That would be sarcasm. The assault tree for Vanguards combined with a few points in Tactics allows you to hit like a truck, CC like no other, and retain the survival needed to live through things most of the other classes cannot. You are deadly at far, medium, and close range. If you think otherwise you are not playing the class correctly. Have a nice day.
  3. I disagree. I loved the story completely. Made me feel like I was the Star Wars version of Shepard (I know the Female voice actor is Fem Shep thanks). Had a very ME feel to me and I loved the writing. I even plan on making a commando male alt just to see the Darkside options play out (also romancing Elara).
  4. It's true that on SoAP Empire vastly outnumber and for the most part out gears Republic. But that doesn't stop them from getting beat..all..the time... The PvP isn't perfect but we Republics on SoAP love it. Get busy fighting, or get busy dying.
  5. The wording may be different but from what I have experienced the effect is the same and it stacks. Your damage on HIB bypasses/ignores/penetrates/deals as much as if their armor was 90% less. While that is awesome (and it is) keep in mind your HIB is still weapon based so it can be dodged/shielded as well.

    PvP flop

That's nice. Thanks for sharing. You can leave now.
  7. One factor I think that has been overlooked (among others) in the Space Marine is their armor. Their armor is supposedly made from the hardest materials nearly impossible to destroy in their universe. That factor could be said that it's at least on par with beskar armor which in the Star Wars universe is almost completely lightsaber resistant. Such defenses combined with the Space Marines super-body modificiations would take a ton of effort from the Jedi's lightsaber to inflict a mortal wound without putting the Jedi in harms way (upclose) The Bolter itself is another deadly weapon that Jedi aren't really ready for. A super-sonic round that is not only armor piecing but explodes. Coupled with it's high rate of fire, and the skill of the wielder I do not see a Jedi coping well with this. Let's consider the SW equal to the Space Marine. Mandolorians (pardon me if spelling is bad) who are in many ways the closest a normal being can come to being on par with a Jedi are known for killing and besting Jedi to the point where Jedi take them as a serious threat. So take a Mando, give him genetic alterations to take him to super-human levels of physical and mental prowress, and give him a couple centuries of combat experience. Oh and a deadlier arsenal to match. I say that it would go to the Space Marine.
  8. Pretty much amazing skill. Not only is the damage decent and the immobilize awesome but it also interupts casting skills. Really want to piss off a healer? Storm them and then hit them with a Riot Strike when they go to recast their heal skill. Priceless every time.
  9. Thanks for sharing. You won't be missed.
  10. And to add more fuel to the fire it's elemental damage which means it gets better with many talents you will be getting. It's a great talent that gives a good amount of damage (which isn't negate as much as kinetic) and keeps your energy regen up. Whats not to like?
  11. Yes. It's part of the rotation to maximize your burst combo and keep your energy cells up. Later when talented correctly you will be ignoring a large part of the enemy defense and it will gain some more power from talents. Stock strike will be for the most part your biggest move.
  12. Two different styles honestly. Vanguard is about finding the biggest threat and either stomping it down/controlling it with your CC/Damage spikes or being upfront pain in the butt to the enemy team. They are more defensive and are at home in the 10mm range. Commando is about long range punishment or healing. They are the armored turret and if left to their own devices will deliver the hurt. So it comes down to rather you want to storm in or be the cannon.
  13. Vanguard tanking is pretty easy. Ion Cell, Guard on Healer. Pre-work is done. Sticky Nade+Storm+Stock Strike+Impact Shot+Ion Pulse. Repeat as needed, with your taunts thrown in for ZOMG moments. Pre Storm use Hammer Shot (or when between Cell recharge.) If you speced correctly you will not lose aggro. Hope this helps.
