  1. still bugged, 30.01.2021. how hard is ti to fix, it has been more than a year -_-
  2. Well, i doubt it is anything, but automatically generated gibberish (suffix numbers like Discord does for example, when you create your name), but then again, i am sure developers aren't so dumb they need my help to tell them how to approach this particular thing. What i do know is that there are technical ways, like SQL queries, that can assign aliases based on specified conditions. So, like i said, having suffix like _1, _2 etc would be enough, and most likely even a better way to help guilds discern different legacies with same base name.
  3. forget it, "government controlled markets" always fail. it would simply result into absence of such items on GTN, because there is no profit to be made. besides, there are enough mod vendors on planets and fleet to satisfy minimal gear requirements at all times as for the problem with credits plummeting in value, well, this game is out for 10 years and there has been no control over bots population. even if to start doing it now, it will simply slow down the "fall" of credits value, nothing can be done in order to return prices to values that don't look ridiculous.
  4. you can already do that by creating a custom chat tab, but that's not the point... why should we be forced into disabling general chat altogether to begin with. i'm not an easily offended person either, but "spam" about all sorts of crap in the chat makes me keep it disabled for 90% of time. imagine a new player wanting to ask a question in general chat, but he hesitates because people are engaged in their usual DK stuff. I wouldn't want anything from such community either. Besides, Bioware should be motivated to moderate chats if only because they might have had more active playerbase if new players wouldn't have to see all this stuff and be like "oh god, so this is what's community here like, i'm outta here"
  5. You are right and we been discussing this as well. I believe this can be solved quite easily by disclosing Legacy hidden ID for "GM tools" (if that's the approach devs would chose). As you know, we are now able to block an entire legacy from seeing their messages in chat, no matter which character they log in. This implies (and i heard, been confirmed by devs too), that each legacy has an ID, normally unseen by players in game. Legacy ID is hardly sensitive information (i cannot think of any way it can be exploited by others to do any harm). But even if not going that far, adding a simple suffix like _1, _2 etc, which software can assign by still comparing the ID's of legacies, will do the trick and is enough This will also solve a (potential) problem with giving ranks to guildies. Most guilds assign same rank to all characters in Legacy
  6. With effort of Wolfblazin a detailed feature request was created. All credit goes to him. Please give it a Yes or Nay by replying and\or adding your own suggestions on what can be done to support such feature. Reads as follows: FEATURE-REQUEST: QOL improvement : The ability to track Guild Conquest Point contributions Guild by Legacy. -----What is the mission?----- Guilds wish to reward their guild members and players more fairly. A lot of guilds would like to reward based on the combined effort of a player (i.e. their Legacy ) to the guild. -----What is the issue?----- Currently there is no way to see which Legacy contributed the most to a guilds CQ leaderboard. Personal opinion: In turn this is biased to players who only play 1 character and does not favor players who like to play multiple different characters within the same guild. This in turn incentivizes players to only play one character instead of exploring their whole roster of available stories (if they want to be competitive in their Guilds prize pools). In my opinion this shouldn't be the case. SWTOR is a very ALT friendly MMO, which is one of its selling points, however current CQ point tracking discourages that within guilds. -----The current solution to Legacy-wide CQ point management----- Preface: ● SWTOR doesn't have any public API that we can access for any kind of thing. The publicly available 3rd party SWTOR API's have endpoints for only Cartel, GTN, Events, etc. So, going the API route and building a simple DB that gets automatically filled in with a web interface for it cannot be done. ● Copy/Paste doesn't work within the guild roster screen as the interface doesn’t allow selection (that's actually a good thing from a UX point of view in a game). So copy/pasting into an Excel also cannot be done. Current only way: ● What we’re left with is manually going through the whole guild roster and typing in all e.g. 600 members on REP side and 600 members on IMP side. Ok, you do that once let’s say. But then you will of course have weekly fluctuations of people leaving and people joining so let's say roughly +-70 new or updated entries (of course the number may vary across guilds). That is for the character names. Now you have to go through each character and map their Legacy name to the character name. Once that is done you can group-by Legacy in an Excel or a DB. Now we come to the CQ points, each Tuesday evening before the restart a person would have to manually look through each of the e.g. 1200 members on the roster and re-type in their CQ points into the sheet. But let's say only cca 500 are active in a given week, that's still probably around 3-4hr's of work every tuesday evening. -----Possible solutions for this problem----- - CQ point contributions can be "group-by'd" by Legacy in the Leaderboard interface (addition of a toggle button “Character view / Legacy View”) - Probably the best solution , easiest to implement and goes with the development flow without friction and big product roadmap changes. - An option within Guild Roster to save to clipboard the table within Guild->Roster tab (Conquest Points has to be selected from the dropdown) Less applicable solutions: - “RSS” option for a Guild Roster info + CQ points for a particular Guild - A SWTOR API rollout which includes has an endpoint for this
  7. Bumping this post, because it is most certainly an essential addition. Game does not endorse focusing on one single character, people WILL create alts and cumulative contribution holds more weight than individual character contribution for obvious reasons. This must be implemented so guildmasters and officers have better understanding who is the most active player and contributor out there withotu having to go into excel spreadsheets and manual data labor
  8. i understand that all too well, but the thing is, Sorcerer\Sage still pack a lightsaber as a main weapon, they use it in cutscenes even (especially in kotfe\kotet), but they NEVER use it in actual fight. best it can do is "visually" deflect blaster bolts In inquisitor\Consular story getting a lightsaber is your initiation thing, which is pretty big deal i say Moreover, my example with FF14 Red Mage, who uses Rapier is his weapon, stands true all the same. This is a Caster job and nothing can change that, but it has cool concept of using melee attacks by using gap closers after he has his White\Dark mana at certain level to deliver a melee combo and then a skill to retreat back to ranged and continue casting spells. What i'm just saying, it will be cool if similar to FF14 Red Mage spec was introduced to Sage\Sorcerer, so we can finally feel like this glowing stick is not just for pizza parties and occasional cutscenes. Mechanically yes, this will introduce a lot of challenges balance wise, but again, in the same FF14 game, they made it so Red mage is not OP in any way by being 75% caster\25% melee
  9. Just a simple suggestion. How about adding more lightsaber related skills (even if just situational, not rotation based) in upcoming expansion for Socrcerer and Sage? I mean, this is what mostly disconnects me from the characters. They have lightsaber, they always draw, the story acts in a way that finding\creating your own lightsaber is a big deal on your path, but then you never actually use it. There are already examples of how this can be executed, take a look at Red Mage in Final Fantasy 14. class is a caster, but uses melee combo in between in his roation, which i find a very cool concept. Something similar must have a potential to implement in this game as well
  10. i know it is a minor inconvenience for players like me to go to forums and search for nonexistant solution, but inconvenience nonetheless (i am wasting time here as well as other people who read the quest lines). removing dialog lines would really help, since nobody intents to fix the bonus itself -_-
