  1. another way to look at it is trying to get away from Jedi = Light side, Sith = Dark side. Its too one-dimensional. Just like we see plenty of Jedi succumb to the dark side there can be plenty of Sith that "fall" to the light. There are plenty of Jedi/Sith on both end of the spectrum even if the majority are on one side. If you break down the Sith Code or the Jedi Code, there is no calling out of the dark side or light.... Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. Passion is what starts everything off and why does it have to dark side emotions. Passion for ones family, (maybe as protective parent.) Through that passion i gain strength. (i guess if we want to look at it from another IP's point of view look at a Empowered Vegita in the newest DBZ movie. (yeah yeah i know, stay with me for a sec) As a former villain now a family man, he attained previously untapped power when coming to the defense of his family (his wife in that case). With that strength comes power, victory etc etc. Nothing about that code (in the eyes of a Light side sith) requires the Dark side. to them, you can adhere to that code with the power of the Light if you so choose. Or just not even distinguish between the two. He could be more like the Voss with their Taoist view that "the force' Taoist don't see the "light side" or "dark side" to Ying and Yang to be "good vs evil" it would certainly be easy enough to apply that thought to the view of the Force.
  2. And i'm currently in Alderaan and its just amazing how much better the SW's story is compared to the Inquisitors. I mean not just in the overall story arch, but in their interactions with companions, interactions with quest NPCs. Sure i get that thematically they are suppose to be different but its still shocking how 1 sided it is. Its a good thing i love the gameplay style of the Assassin as i would never be able to stand leveling it up again if i didnt. :full disclosure, i've leveled a juggernat and sorcerer to cap, back at launch, so i know the whole storyline, i just recently came back to the game and i'm getting a fresh start.
  3. because the people that feel that way are usually pretty awful at the game and want the power of the class to overcompensate for their lack of ability.
  4. yeah Hatreds damage combined with the assasins perks like Stealth, Crowd Control and a good tanking pet make the very strong. I find myself EASILY doing Heroic quests that my other characters struggled with.
  5. I tried Deception myself yesterday, as Hatred is a bit OPered and takes away from the Melee feel of the class. I found myself liking it, powerful Mauls and amped up Shocks strike a nice balance of Fighter/Mage and while i did find myself taking out mobs fairly easily it didnt come off as OPered as Hatred. I'll probably be leveling as deception for a bit, if for variety's sake if nothing else.
  6. If reading Tarkin has told me anything is that a lot of the EU (at least the Pre-RoTJ stuff) is going to survive, they are just going to cherry pick the good stuff and leave things out that are gonig to be contradicted by the new moves. Darth Plaguesis is no longer considered canon yet Tarkin had PLENTY of references to characters and things that happened in that Book. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if parts of SWTOR (and "Tales of the Old Republic" before it) become canon as people drop references to it as time goes on.
  7. Personally i like assassin or Marauder more then Jugg, though i hear Jugg is the current FotM. Marauder is great as the burst damage is so good things practically explode in front of me, i was a little hessitant to go Marauder, i already have a Jugg (it was the class i rolled when the game launched in 2011) but its DPS spec feels much much better then the Jugg's DPS specs. Carnage in paticular is so much fun. Assassin is great too as you get so much utility? stealth? great CC? the option to tank? powerful burst in deception? awesome dps with madness? They have a great Fighter/Mage feel that i like. i;d really give it some consideration before you pull the trigger on the Jugg

    3.1

you honestly think thats the complete patch notes? #facepalm
  9. I've always played my LS Sith characters as being more like the "Imperial Knights" from the Legacy era. More Grey then anything else. Someone that uses all of the force and doesnt feel bound by the idea that there is a mutual exclusive light and dark. There is a time for calm and there is a time for rage.
  10. no when i said Plaguis i didnt mean if the character himself was canon, thats already without doubt. What i meant was events in Tarkin(Novel) referenced things that happened in the novel, Darth Plaguieis. So elements of its are still very much canon, even if the book as a whole isnt.
  11. or having repeatable quests have a different colored quest icon after being completed the first time. Both changes would be nice
  12. since returing to SWTOR i've setup things as follows: Sith Marauder - Artifice, Archeology, Treasure Hunting Sniper - Cybertech, Scavaging, Slicing Powertech - Armortech, Scavaging, Underworld Trading Sith Assassin - Sythweaving, Archeology, Underworld Trading Everything has a nice flow, all my characters help gear each other and their followers. Have all my bases covered. Pretty happy with the setup
