  1. Alright, for those in the same situation. Vette takes A LONG time to talk to you. I'm halfway thru Alderaan and finally got a conversation and companion quest. Hope this helps folks.
  2. Can you make the Temple Guardian set in the Cartel Market preview each piece instead of the current 'loot box'. I'd be willing to pay 2,000 Cartel Coins for an armor set IF I could preview each piece before buying it.
  3. Just finished with Tatooine and still no conversations with Vette. New companion conversations are based on story progression so...does anyone know if this big silence is normal or a bug?
  4. A number of class quests require you to follow the quest instructions exactly. That particular quest says "Return to your ship at Mezenti Spaceport and contact Darth Zash via your ship’s holoterminal to report your success." If you go to your ship's holoterminal via fleet pass or stronghold, the next step in the quest might not trigger. I suggest you return to Nar Shaddaa, take a taxi to Network Access, then take a taxi back to Mezenti Spaceport and walk into your hangar and board your ship. There might be a conversation in the hangar you missed. You're not alone in your bug menu stuck on 'Updating...' Mine is too. Best of luck, tho. Let us know how it goes.
  5. So if I'm reading that right...my Consular, who didn't get a letter, won't be getting a letter when the fix is applied. But the romance is still acknowledged? How would we test if the romance is still valid? The clone of my main is through KotFE content and has gotten the correct dialog prompts in Chapter 2 and the letter. I don't trust BioWare to fix this issue so I'm just making the clone my main. This solution isn't for everyone, though, but it was a blast to re-run the game with the clone. Side note: I started a Sith Warrior who is level 27 now (just finished Nar Shaddaa) and I haven't had a conversation with Vette past the one where I removed her shock collar at level 10 or so. So it appears companions across the board can be bugged. Sad.
  6. Thanks for the responses. I've just finished with Nar Shaddaa (level 27) and I've had no conversations past the one where I removed her shock collar at level 10 or so. There is no prompt for conversations with her in the fleet cantina or on my ship. She's at level 10 influence. My choices have been mostly dark side with some light side, but I don't think this makes a difference. I'd fill out a bug report in-game but the system seems to be down (at least for me). Bug report screen just says 'Updating...' and won't allow any tickets to be sent.
  7. My Sith Warrior is level 27 and hasn't had a conversation since removing her shock collar at around level 10 or so.
  8. I remember this on my female BH. Mako was my highest affection companion and I got the conversation about 'Is Torian my type'. I don't think the 'yes' answer is obvious. At least, I don't remember saying anything that made Mako back away from Torian. I still got all the romances for Torian, tho. I recall that nothing serious happens between Mako and Torian, regardless of what you choose, but to be sureI would look on youtube and see what the choices lead to; could be you're worrying over nothing Also, I thought post 4.0 companion conversations trigger from where you are in your class story, not influence level. I don't think raising influence with one companion will affect when, or if, you get conversations with other companions.
  9. Internet is anonymous right? Not gonna lie, I cried a bit when I read Nadia's letter that I *should* have gotten. I've gotten the clone of my consular up to the Nadia romance and I'm recording it via fraps. Everything about the clone is the same as the original except for the umlaut above the 'a' (which I barely notice). The journey is surprisingly fun and I'd suggest it to anyone while we all wait for our bugged mains to be fixed.
  10. Damn. This can't be a hard fix to implement. I understand BioWare wouldn't know who's data was lost until they get the bug reports, but there must be a way to add a dialog in-game attached to the holo device on Odyssen (used to summon a companion early) to the effect of "(Was this a romanced companion? Yes. No.)" then fire off the email from that companion and flag the romance as active before the up-coming chapters are released. It breaks the 4th wall a bit, but I'd rather have that than a broken romance. There is still a possibility that certain romanced companions are silent for story reasons, but that doesn't explain the lack of a love option in chapter 2. I don't recall if Nadia/Iresso has contacted other folks in this thread or if they are consistently silent. I'll comb back through the thread to check.
  11. COMPANION ROMANCES ARE BUGGED. Sorry, bolded that so wouldn't get lost among the 'story vs content' discussion. As detailed in this lengthy thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=843854 companion romances are bugged. During chapter 2, when you see your companions paused in their fighting and Valkorian gives them all descriptions, a dialog choice should appear where you can mention your character loves a companion. A large amount of players are reporting that dialog didn't happen for them. Thanks to player TinaLovesHan for this video comparison of a bugged version and a correct version: The bad thing about this bug is that there is no way a player could know about it unless told. Most players probably don't even realize they should have gotten a letter from their romance companions and different dialog choices in Chapter 2.
  12. I posted in the bug report thread, but I'll post here as well. I'm curious to know if any male Consular has had this bug with Nadia. If even one person has gotten a letter from her, then this is a confirmed bug for those of us who didn't. If *nobody* has gotten a letter, then it's likely story-related. I know the female Consular has this problem with Iresso, and I would ask the same question. So far, it seems random and it seems like a bug. Please, talk about this on Gen chat--some folks probably don't realize there should be a letter and a choice to mention your love in chapter 2. The more people are aware that they have a bug, and report it, the more likely BioWare is to fix it.
  13. Good suggestion, thanks! And I've signed the petition. At this point I think we need to make more players aware that there is a bug. Most have no idea that their romances are hosed. The more people we can get to fill out the bug reports, the more chance it will be fixed. From BioWare's point-of-view, they (probably) have put this issue at the bottom of their list because most people haven't filled out a bug report.
  14. I love it. Keep sending the bug reports and tell everyone on Odessen the problem you're having. I mentioned the issue in General and got a few smart*** replies, but there were a bunch of folks that had the bug and never knew until I said something. I urged them to fill out a bug report. The clone of my Consular main is running Alderaan now and it's surprisingly good. Sort of 're-living' my main. I'm doing this in case the bug isn't fixed. I know that when I get to KotFE with him, I may get the bug with him too, but I'm determined to do 'something'. Take care all, and keep submitting those bug reports after every patch.
  15. Two patches gone and nothing is fixed. I've re-sent my bug report and will keep doing it every Wednesday. I've also been talking about the issue in Gen chat. Some people didn't even realize their companion romances were broken. I hope a few of those folks submitted bug reports. I suppose that's all I can do for now. Of course, i have the level 1 clone of my main that's just looking at me. Haven't decided yet if I should level him up. Sucky thing is, he could also have the bug; it might not be tied to character age....
  16. An in-game mailed response from Customer Service verified that this is a bug and they are working on it. Since my Consular did the romance with Nadia a few months after launch, and the romance wasn't recognized in this new expansion, I would guess that with all the server merges some data on the very oldest characters got lost. My other, newer characters had their romance options recognized in Chapter 2. So this is most likely a data loss issue at BioWare. There are a number of possible solutions to this, but I would be willing to run KotFE over again if BioWare needs to re-set the romances for older characters. I would prefer this option. The other option would be similar to when the HK-51 bug happened and we were all just bumped to the last part of the quest. This option would lose some of the story from Chapter 2, but it would be better than nothing. An extreme option would be to re-create my character and level him up again. ugh. Can folks with this issue confirm that: 1. The affected character did the romance shortly after the game's launch and/or 2. The affected character was transferred to a different realm when the server merges happened (some, like mine, went through 2 realm transferrs.....Hyperspace Cannon (original server) to Drooga's Pleasure Barge to The Harbinger)
  17. I appreciate the pun, intended or not However, the only way the devs know if an issue is important enough to make a priority is to hear from as many of us as possible. Keep submitting those bug reports.
  18. A lot of guessing in this thread. Bottom line is the bug needs to be fixed. A romance that players want to keep shouldn't hinge on a vague conversation choice. The romance exists or it doesn't, regardless of any dialog choice. BioWare will anger a lot of players if they hose the romance storylines for folks. Angry players don't continue playing. I suggest submitting bug reports on this. Everyone submit one. Flood them with it.
  19. The cut scenes define this game. If they go away, I do too.
  20. The reality is that the vast majority of players don't check the forums of a game, don't follow a game's twitter feed, don't listen to podcasts about a game. They just buy a game and play it. Communication may be a big issue to us minority that frequent the forums, but we are just that... *the minority*. TOR has had a laundry-list of problems. So have other games. So *will* other games. Time will heal all of this. The-Game-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named has had abysmal customer relations until just recently and some would argue it's still bad. What TOR needs is this: 1) Implement the free-to-play model in conjunction with a television / gaming magazine ad campaign immediately, before that new free-to-play war of guilds 2 can solidify their player base. 2) Don't restrict the free-to-play model in ways that will annoy players. This game is solid. It doesn't *need* more than this right now. It competes very well with the other MMOs on the market.
  21. ^Yup. @OP: If you're a sage, you can survive most fights by healing her up. But healing *does* make the enemies notice you, so bubble her, throw on Rejuvinate (good healing bang with low aggro) and help her dps a bit by attacking her target. If you draw aggro from her, use Cloud Mind and bubble yourself. When I'm helping her dps, I'm usually using Weaken Mind and Mind Crush...good dps but lower aggro. Keep this up and it's possible to use Nadia as a make-shift tank for just about every situation. BUT: Don't use her as a tank for a group. Not gonna work out well.
  22. This is a good point. The green lightsaber currently in the game is too yellow. Example of SWTOR green saber: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Autumnpuma/yellowsage.gif Now here's a pic of Luke's saber from Return of the Jedi: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Autumnpuma/jedi-luke-sail-barge_l.jpg The real green saber has a white core with a true green glow. The SWTOR saber has a white core with a yellow band that becomes yellow-green. Very bright. That being said, I still use one for my sage.
  23. I like the Nautolan race. Somewhere down the line I'd like to see it added. Togruta would fit well and could appeal to the folks that like the Clone Wars series. I also like the Cathar, but not enough to level something again.
  24. Yellow robe is 'Traditional vine-silk vestments' I got as a world-drop and the pants are the 'formal pants' from Coruscant. When you 'unify colors' you look like you need a curious chimp named 'George'. I love it. http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Autumnpuma/yellowsage.gif
