  1. To expand on the storyline option, these differing storylines could use the same instanced areas, even in the same order, but what would be different are the quests you get and possibly the NPC's you get the quests from. Note that this solution doesn't address any of the non-class quests. This is Option A. Alternatively, in Option B, each storyline you choose from (let's call them L, M, N, etc) would be in a separate instanced universe. Storyline L's universe would contain different non-class quests, as well as class quests, from M's quests. To make it uniform, L's non-class quests would be the same for every class. For example, a Trooper who picks M and a Trooper who picks L get entirely different class and non-class quests. But a Trooper and a Consular who both pick L get the same non-class quests, just like today. Everyone who picks L would be able to interact with each other, but not with those who pick M. Both Option A and B are variants of the earlier suggestion. Option C is completely different. It involves making many more planets to have alternate leveling areas, similar to WoW. When you leave the starting area, you still go to the fleet, but from then on, when you finish a planet, you get 2 (or more) branches to your quest line. For example, when you finish Nar Shadda, you have an option to go to Tatooine or another new planet, both being of the same level. In this approach, new companions could be gained on the new planets. They would have to be gained at the same 'level' you would get the other companion, and they would have to be the same type, just so you don't lose out on a healer or something. Comparing/contrasting: Option A would entail writing a new class storyline (or several), probably from scratch. Since the new storyline(s) use the same planets, it would re-use the class instance locations. It wouldn't touch non-class quests. Different companions could be gained at any point in the new storyline, since it goes from pretty much beginning to end. Option B would also entail the writing of new class storyline(s), and also new non-class quests. The different storyline(s) would use different instances of the same planets, but use the planet itself as a template. It would have new non-class quests too. Different companions could be gained at any point in the new storyline, since it goes from pretty much beginning to end. Option A/B offers flexibility in choosing your path, but when chosen, you are locked in unless you drop the quest. You would have to start over from the beginning, in that case. Option C, instead of writing a new storyline (or more), there would be branches of the existing storyline. Each new branch would be on a new planet, offering new class and non-class quests alike. If the old branch offers a companion, the new branch would have to offer a companion of the same type as the old. This Option offers more flexibility than A/B, because you can mix and match your leveling experience without restarting from Act 1.
