  1. I was looking to set up the entrance landing for my stronghold and noticed what is either a bug or inconsistancy. The Corellian Stardrive Stealth can be placed on both large and medium hooks but if you try to place the Corellian Stardrive Flash it will only mount to large hooks. This makes it a little problematic if you are trying to display mounts in a room or flank landings pads.
  2. LZURUHA The Basics Name: Lzuruha Cortosis and Lzuruha Kaiburr Allegiance: Empire and Republic Guild Region: US East server Server: The Shadowlands Language: English Focus: PvE progresssion and casual Voice Chat: Dedicated Vent Channels on the LZH vent, access to Mumble if desired, and looking into Team Speak. Website: http://mylzh.net Who is Lzuruha? Lzuruha is multigaming group with a presence in both E-sports and Speed running. We started in E-sports with Star Craft: Brood War back in 2001. We started in Star Wars: The Old Republic at launch and after a break while waiting for content are returning to the game. We have established guilds both on the Imperial and Republic side of things to allow both for legacy benefits and to account for member preference. Some of our founding members bring with them experience from previous MMOs as we look to make a big push into the endgame content. We want to expand into all PvE endgame content available but we also want to ensure an enjoyable environment and help others to get there. In order to help new members or players progress into the PvE eldergame we have members willing to assist in many ways ranging from helping with talent specs, to learning rotations and stat priorities, and even various crafters in guild to assist with gearing. Our goal is to both experience endgame and create a drama free and fun environment for our members. What are we looking for? Gamers looking for a community be it just for SWTOR or for gaming in general. People willing to use voice chat be it simply listening or participating where needed. Both veterans and new players willing to learn We encourage all game activities members enjoy be it PvP or Role playing, but the guilds focus will be PvE Those willing to put in the effort, we are game to help but that is a two way street. What do we have to offer? Vast in game experience and long time experience spanning multiple MMOs Dedicated leadership with a history of endgame across multiple MMOs An active community site including forums not only for SWTOR but for gaming in general. VOIP servers for Vent and Mumble with the possible addition of Team Speak in the future. Helpful and friendly guild members. 3. No I do not think those who pre-ordered RotHC got screwed at all. For Pre-ordering we got what is arguably the most versatile holo-statue/trainer and personally I would probably have payed 5-10 bucks just for that as an account wide unlock... which is exactly what it is and what we got for pre-ordering. I have never regretted my pre-order or for that matter pre-ordering a second copy for my fiance at the same time. So no, we did not get screwed.
  4. Logically speaking... one would have such a reaction for the same reason another has the reverse. Personal preference But how is it fair or respectful for any party to dictate to another how they should play the game? Just because some find watching the Cutscenes every time fun or because some find doing full clears fun and others do not does not mean that either side should get to dictate how the other gets to play the game. I mentioned in an earlier post that a simple and logical solution would simply be to add a box one could check off for full clears that would filter group finder results. It would allow both variations to remain viable and avoid drama from those with conflicting views. Anecdotal evidence on either side of the fence does not prove an absolute. If person A was shot down when they ask that does not invalidate the experience of Person B who was not. It just means there is a certain luck of the draw involved.
  5. Realistically at the price point At least the one large planet and maybe 1-2 flashpoints with appropriately placed flashpoint couriers. New tiers to crafting to match the increased level (preferably trained rather then REed) so that some of the crafting feels a little more worth wild. Maybe rewards for legacy level since some people are in the 40-50 range now there. we only recently got a new OP but I suppose one related to the new story content would not be an unreasonable expectation.
  6. The opposite is also true though. You and others have no more ability to arbitrarily decide what is or is not an expansion than those on the other side of the argument. The information given does meet the criteria used by some games even if it does not meat that used by others. We do not have an established concrete criteria for what is considered a "SWToR expansion" because to date we have not had one. So any insistence is simply opinion at best, assertion at worst.
  7. Maybe it is because I spent a good long while playing FFXI (where mini expansions eventually became fairly common even to the point of breaking a larger expansion into three smaller parts) but the idea of sequential updates or even mini expansions does not really bother me so long as the price is reasonable. Square-Enix charged 10-20 USD for their mini expansions. The amounted to a short (compared to the larger 40 dollar expansions that is) Story quest and a reward of some viable armor at the very end. But for 10 bucks it seemed a decent deal. To be clear they also did tweaks to the game and often additions and upgrades to various in game events but they pretty much always charged for any sizable addition. They later broke a larger expansion into 3 parts and instead of charging 40-60 for it up front they charged 20 for it in three installments (totaling 60 in the end) before doing a "bundled" deal later on. So for me, so long as it is a full sized planet and not some dinky little number and so long as the story is enjoyable I probably will not mind the 10 dollar price tag. If it is a large enough chunk of content that may even end up feeling like a fairly decent deal.
  8. If only it were that simple... then again that also assumes that when we tanks (or those medics) explain something that people actually listen. Sadly, that not happening occurs more often than you might think.
  9. That argument is logically flawed. He mentioned sub 50 armor being the concern. Tionese is given for free post update 1.6 and is level 50 gear of item grade 51. We can logically infer if he said sub 50 that Tionese does not meet that qualifier. So the question in his example becomes why are they not even utilizing a free set of Tier 1 PVE armor in a HM scaled for Tier 2 PVE armor. If we were to apply Occam's Razor and thus assume the simplest and most obvious answer as probable.... given the current time frame and influx of new players that favors the simple explination of them lacking the Artifact Equipment Authorization as it would prevent them from being able to acquire said free Tier 1 PVE armor set. However if such is the case those individuals could also not make use of Exotech, Columi, Rakata, Black Hole, Campaign, Hazmat, or Dread Gaurd gear rendering the entire argument that people should be forced to farm on their behalf a moot point.... since they would be unable to make use of any such rewards. As I previously explained in the current post 1.6 progression there is no logical reason to force bosses whose primary drop is simply Tionese as is the case with most skipped bosses. It is more efficient to work on Columi as a Tier 2 since you are given a free set of Tier 1 and endeavor to begin work on Tier 4 armor via your daily rewards. The tactics argument has moderate merit but I also recently explained at length why most encounters being skipped (the exception being some of the bonus bosses) do not provide a significant tactical primer. While many of the non-skippable and end run bosses can sufficiently fill that role. To re-iterate my personal stance though. At the end of the day it is inherently selfish for one group or the other to seek to impose their preference on the opposing faction. Instead one should act with consideration of others and communicate politely. Thus in cases where those are willing they may be persuaded, and you also avoid tension that could say them against your request. But it should be the choice of the group, likely via the majority vote, how they wish to conduct themselves. It is no more or less selfish for one to insist on all bosses than for one to insist on only a few.... both situations rudely impose a self driven desire upon others possibly against their own personal choice or desire. In short... we should all be considerate to each other regardless of which side of the debate we fall on and via polite and calm communication attempt in each individual instance to come to an understanding. We may not get what we want every time but it is the most logical and civilized approach,
  10. Sadly I must admit I have to agree with you OP My main is an Immortal Jugg. I did this because in my last MMO I tanked damn near anything and was told I did it well. I found it was something I just appeared to be naturally good at. I also used to run end game guilds and so my natural inclination is to explain and teach where I see a need for it. Normally this means I dive right in as the tank and happily help new people learn the run be it a PUG for a HM or for a Heroic. On top of this I also seldom have any real down time because my significant other chooses to play a Bodyguard Merc and so I basically have my own full time Medic... instant groups, quick pick ups for heroics... zero reason to be stressed or frustrated as things get rolling. It is surprising how quickly that can change. So me and my pocket medic end up in a PUG for HM FE. No big deal, been there done thought bought the t-shirt (I am at that point wearing Columi War Leader Body and sporting the Throne Breaker title) We then proceed to realize that our Sith Warrior DPS... is ignoring every bit of strategy on basically every boss. Group wants me to pull Tregg off the bridge so I can tank against the wall and they have room to move when he jumps.... Warrior attacks Tregg Mid pull and ends up sandwiched between Tregg and the adds on the bridge he should have been burning down. He blames me for "losing Tregg", and the Medic for "letting him die" We say DPS on Turret so the medic can move around between them and me as I tank Jindo.... he chases Jindo like a chicken with his head cut off and eats AoE damage while out of range of the Medic as I am dodging said AoE. He blames me again saying I "lost hate" when I was force charging out of the AoE he was running into... because it was on me.... and again blames the medic for "not healing him" even though he was out of range. We explain to stay off the glowing blue war droid on A-14 and B-16... he does not bother to watch for which one is shielded.... but I manage to hold hate anyway and the medic keeps him up despite his ignorance. We get to HK-47, I explain the fight in detail.... and he promptly ignores the turrets and refuses to AoE when I am CCed... instead he tries to run to the other side of the platform. Of course HK eventually gets loose, poison hits, people die, and the inevitable wipe occurs. So I explain again, in detail... and he again ignores every bit of strategy explained In whispers the sorcerer says they would have already vote kicked him, I tell the medic.... he is vote kicked I get whispers demanding to know why he was kicked. I calmly explain that he was not following strategy and it had caused several wipes on HK.... He of course again blames Me (even though since I was CCed I could not exactly AoE in time to catch HK) and everyone else for "missing" even though he never even tried to land Smash or use Perdition. All this as I am also apologizing to the resulting Sorcerer for the delay. We get a different Warrior, this one uses Perdition.... HK goes down first try... we proceed to take Malgus no issue. So yes I am with you OP, and I feel your pain. Even the most patient of Tanks or Medics can only deal with so much before they either have to step away... or boot someone from group.
  11. I do not think that mods are the way to solve this issue. As has been mentioned the issue with mods can be expressed a few ways. The first and possibly the most concerning is the way it skews the experience. Once upon a time I know that WoW had third party apps that could tabulate average prices right down to a per server basis. More than that they even partially automated the use of the Auction House in terms of listings. When you skew a function that far, to the point of automation, you create a sort of split in the player base. Those who play with an advantage and those who do not. The problem there is it creates a situation where may now need to play with said mods to be on even footing because of the advantages it creates. The second problem is on the back end. As has been mentioned allowing third party applications is a slippery slope because it can be difficult to curtail access to the software once they can plug in. So what happens when things go beyond what the developer thought of or had in mind? What happens when you can create map overlays that track specific mobs even beyond the size of the mini map (There is such an app for FFXI, unsupported by the devs of course) or even further to apps that can trigger a macro to get claim on a mob literally as it spawns by reacting to the server or client code before the mob can actually spawn on screen (claim bots are not exactly a new idea after all). Then you have clear and unfair advantages between those who use them and those who do not and things have spiraled well beyond the intention of the devs. So they have to either curtail the usage and find ways to detect such mods, or they have to yank mods all together. Generally speaking neither situation is ideal. On one hand your "best case" creates classes of players where some just have what could be argued an unfair advantage.... and your worst case that "advantage" becomes game breaking to the point the dev has to take action. It becomes a lose lose scenario. Ideally the best solution to complaints about a market place or even an interface is not to let a random third party make a mod... but rather to give feed back and suggestion and for the developer to then act on them. In short, it makes more sense to upgrade/fix the market place to be on par with games like RIFT rather than implement third party access that could lead to more problems down the road.
  12. I agree and I do see your point. The specific reason I did not mention them is actually because even in groups where you do all the bosses between point A and B it is often done skipping trash and secondary objectives needed to trigger Bonus Bosses. Boarding Party for example has something like 4 objectives in the bonus if I recall correctly and one of them has to do with Trash mobs, another with specific mobs (Though I admit I do not recall if those two are required for the boss). Though it is also worth mentioning that in some of those cases such strategies can also be learned via the story mode flashpoints. Cadimumu has an end boss that also requires the tactic of being aware of the 4 sections of the fight room and Athis also has a boss that uses a similar trick with specters between rounds that have their own DoT you have to be aware of as well. The reason I mentioned HK in particular though is pretty much exactly what you are talking about. In both versions of the fight with HK you have environmental hazards be they turrets or spawning waves of enemies that you have to deal with as well. I so often see people complain about dealing with adds on this boss or that boss that I can not help but wonder if they simply did not learn these tactics. I honestly have never wiped to HK in foundry unless it glitched, and never wiped to HK in FE unless someone was not listening in regards to how you need to deal with things when he CCs the tank. But I have on numerous occasions had to replace people int he later case because they just refused to listen. This is the main reason I have a problem with the argument given that it is specifically to "learn tactics" because so often I run into people who want the gear, but who refuse to listen and learn the tactics. It is not just HM Flashpoints either because I have had the same problem when trying to teach people Aurora Cannon and having them not listen and suddenly the group is wiping to Champs. So to expand on my point about tactics. I hear the complaint in this thread "we need to do all the bosses to learn tactics" but I must reaffirm that no you really do not. A lot of these tactics have been primed in story mode flashpoints at much lower levels. Yes the HM versions will force you to use them because you can not just steam roll through due to level. But they are not the only way to learn these tactics if it is your goal. Even at a higher level if you choose to be observant you can see the tactics in those fights even though you can survive without them (depending on class). I do agree with you in regards to incentives. I do not think forcing bosses as an objective is the way to do things but if you added a bonus objective to the daily (we do have dailies with bonuses after all) then that could provide the people with a reason to try them if they had time for it. But as I already said forcing one style or the other is just going to result in complaints. At the end of the day it honestly all comes down to communication. Tanks do not mystically know a run because they are tanks and the good ones upon doing a new run will say "hey I have not done this one so give me the run down before the bosses" and thus they learn. But the same should be true of DPS and Healers... if you do not know the tactics you can ask. Yes some people do not care, but in my experience there are plenty of people who will gladly answer. Likewise communication as so many have said is the key in regards to all the optional bosses or bonus bosses. If you want to learn or need a drop your best bet is to politely ask. But do not make demands or go pull a boss no one wants to do because in the end that hurts you.. They do not have to save you if you pull agro and the pull will reset with deaths. But it can lead t those who are hostile to such antics voting you out or even blocking you. Be polite, be considerate, and communicate... and it will get you a lot farther than trying to force what you want on people who disagree.
  13. Prior to 1.6 I might have been able to understand the sentiment regarding gearing your character. Likewise if Exotech was not a watered down version of the Columi armor farmed from the bosses at the end of each run I could understand a desire to farm that as a temp piece. However given these facts when it comes to "upgrading your gear" it is more logical both long and short term to focus on the Columi drops. When you factor that Columi itself is only a tier 2 armor for PvE and that you can effectively skip tier 3 (Rakata gear) all together by farming Black Hole Commendations in order to purchase Mk1 armors and Campaign armorings for the set bonus... the mid run bosses become rather a hindrance to upgrading rather than an asset. Though one could argue that in terms of secondary stats Black Hole may be a side grade as opposed to an upgrade there is at the very least a marginal improvement in regards to primary stats versus the equivalent Rakata gear. The point I am trying to make here is that if you are looking to gear your character post 1.6 the most efficient way seems to be to pick up your free Tionese set and then begin farming both Columi gear and Black Hole Commendations. Even if one assumes a skip on the one skippable end boss it should be noted that via your weeklies and the actual HM runs you will accumulate Columi Commendations to purchase that one missing piece in terms of the armor set . The whole time one works on Columi in this way they would also be farming Black Hole Commendations in order to begin further upgrades. In terms of learning ones job, you should know the basics by the time you reach end game already. In terms of tactics doing a simple straight tank fight on a mid boss is not really going to teach you any tricks beyond what you likely already know.. It is the end bosses and the like who have the more advanced strategies that, at least in my personal experience, prove to be the greater tactical primers. These end bosses though are just that, primers to prepare one for the rigors of Operations where tactics, focus, and team work can make or break a run. While I can admit some mid bosses such as the HK fights on Hard Mode or Jindo can help teach how to watch for patterns, or even how the Trandoshan on FE can help teach how pulling to the proper location can make a huge difference... I would also be forced to point out that these are not bosses you generally see skipped. In the end one can both properly gear themselves and begin to assimilate end game tactics via the end bosses and those that are not skipped. It is however no less selfish to insist additional bosses be fought at your discretion than it is for others to impose the view that they should not. It in the end should come down to the majority preference of the group. Forcing one style or the other as mandatory will result in angry portions of the fan base. Instead it would be more logical to facilitate a way for each group to more easily find like minded individuals such as a box one could tick for full run vs not. Do I do full runs by default? No, I am currently beginning work on my Black Hole gear and Campaign armorirngs and so tend to speed run if nothing is said because what I need is the commendations. More often than not this is the majority consensus in groups I have ran with as they mostly want the Columi and Comendations as well which makes sense when you consider what I have mentioned earlier in this post. In the end the only way to be considerate rather than selfish is to look to what the majority of the group doing the run would prefer. If it is not what you personally would prefer then you are left with two options. You can either seek a group more to your liking, or finish the run as the majority would choose and then seek another group afterwards.
  14. This fixed it, thank you very much for that little tip.
  15. I am having the same issue but with Synthweave. The icon was there early this morning but has now vanished.
