  1. I’m going to try and word this the best that I can. I’m curious and hope that no one takes this the wrong way, but I’ve always noticed that in Star Wars the majority of the good side (early Republic and the later Rebels) speak with an American & strong southern American accent while the enemy side mostly speak with European English accents. My question is how does the European area take hearing their accents as being used by the majority of the dark enemy side (Empire and late Republic)? Does anyone feel offended by this?
  2. Just to be clear I’m not a spoiled child, I’m a spoiled 31 year old, lol. But seriously if you read further down from my first post you’ll see that I apologized for not explaining well enough. I was trying to say that the Party Jawa just wasn’t my choice out of the options that were made available at the time. I just got a bit carried away after finding out that the Party Jawa won. I actually don’t live that far from BioWare, I have about a year and a half to go before getting my degree in Game Art & Design, and I would like to apply there. I’d also like to apply at id Software too, which is in Texas also. The “We're Hiring” section at id Software’s website is what first motivated me to get into school. Now Arenanet is hiring too, which seems like it would be a neat place to work, but that is clear up in Washington.
  3. Just to be clear though, it’s not that I hate it, it just wasn’t my choice. I can’t really complain too much since it is free. Back when they first offered the “Invite a Friend” speeder I was a bit depressed because everyone I know that plays video games already own SWTOR, so I didn’t have anyone to invite. I ended up creating an alt account, buying a 2nd copy of the game & time card, and inviting myself as a friend just so I could get the speeder, lol, so at least I don’t have to buy the Party Jawa. I don’t like feeling that I've missed out on anything. Now I’m looking forward to the Hutt Cartel Coins. It’s not all that bad having two copies of the game since I have 3 computers hooked up to a single keyboard & mouse, I can actually play both accounts at the same time. What I like best about it is that the healing companion on my alt account's character automatically heals when in a party, so I can have a damage dealing companion out for my main account at all times. It’s kind of like have my own healing bot. My Ranger’s pet in GW2 is like have a bot too, because I can afk a low level area and if anything attacks me than my pet will automatically attack & kill it for a small amount of xp. And if my character were to die, than chances are someone will be around to heal my character and the cycle can start all over again, lol.
  4. Sorry, I should have explained better. I never said it was a companion, lol. I was saying that I already have a Jawa companion, so I don’t really have much interest in another Jawa anything. It’s kind of the same reason why I didn’t choose the Holo Rancor, because I already have a Holo Dancer.
  5. I had voted for the Carbonite Chamber, so I’m not that happy with getting the Party Jawa because my bounty hunter already has a Jawa companion so why would I want another. Though the bounty hunter isn’t my only character. I do have all 8 of my character slots filled, one of each class, but the only reason why I picked a bounty hunter was for the Jawa companion and now that seems pointless. I don’t know if Ewoks are around during this timeframe, but in my opinion I think a party Ewok would have been better than a Jawa.
  6. It would be nice to have a key binding option to sheath/unsheath our companion's weapon. (Also a "Unify Colors" option for companions.)
  7. I do like the Voss race a lot, and I can see them working well for both the Republic and the Empire because there planet is neutral; this must mean that they’re people have split options of the two factions, which would make them fit well on both sides.
  8. I don’t really mind which race is added because I already have 8 characters, and my legacy level is too high to start on another server, so this is no good for me. But if it were up to me I would like to see a race less human looking; not just different looking in the face but in the body shape and size too. Either a very short & agile race, or a large brute type race. A droid can be designed to look both short and large, and it would be neat to play as a synthetic race.
  9. I was able to get all the items from the event vender (The Grand Acquisitions Race) and equipped my Jedi Shadow with the speeder and set of sand people armor. Now I want my character’s weapon to fit the sand people theme too, so I bought a custom electrostaff and modified it with all the parts in my double-bladed lightsaber. Come to find out even though this class can equip electrostaffs, most of the melee abilities can no longer be used with this type of weapon equipped. When thinking about this on a realistic standpoint, if all the modifications that were used in the lightsaber are in the electrostaff, then what’s keeping these abilities from being used? My suggestion is to please unlock blocked abilities for classes that can equip electrostaffs and vibroswords. I didn’t have any problem with my Sith Sorcerer equipping a vibrosword, but that class does have very little melee abilities. I don’t see this being too difficult to setup because the animations for these abilities are already made. They just need some new sound effects and to remove the scorched mark left behind after the "Shadow Strike" ability hits the target.
  10. I would like to have a pet of the creature in the image below. (Spoiler for those that don’t want to see what the scenery of Belsavis looks like yet.) http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z182/JusticeArts/VeractylYoung.jpg
  11. Using just my legacy name wouldn’t work so well on the server I’m on because I’ve seen a character with the same name as my legacy name.
  12. I skipped around a lot so hopefully there aren’t any that I forgot to go back to. I'm sure I’ll have more suggestions later on. I’ve been thinking of suggestion for this game ever since I first started playing back on day 1 of early access, and the best suggestion that I can give is that you can never have too much in an MMO. I’d like to suggest: • Allowing the Legacy-Heroic Abilities to be used in warzones without the need of the “Heroic Moment” ability, because what’s the point of earning them if they can’t be shown off to others. (One of the things that I like best about MMOs is being able to show off what I have earned.) • A large warzone that allows personal speeders to be used. For those that are too low level to have their own speeder, give everyone access to a low grade speeder that can only be used within the warzone (like the Huttball throw ability). • All ability cool down times should be split in half for warzones because of how fast the gameplay is. • If a Crew Skill allows reverse engineering of modifications within customizable items (such as Mods and Enhancements), rather than paying full price for extracting the items just to be reverse engineered, there should at least be an option to reverse engineer the modifications for half the extraction fee. • Having “Shift + Z” as a key bind for sheath/unsheath companion’s weapon. • This is a new move idea that I believe will help take gameplay more vertically. Vertical gameplay is one thing that a lot of games don’t focus on. All characters should have and ability that lets them get up to high places with ease. For example if you had a force using character standing below a second story ledge, they should be able to force jump up onto the ledge. Bounty Hunters should be able to jet up, and other characters can get grappling hooks that pull them up, or something. Maybe even the troopers can use some sort of boost lift. It will make traversing the environments much more fun because it gives more playable options. Basically it would be similar to a double jump feature just with animations that fit the class style. Maybe binding “Shift + Space” or double tapping the Space bar to use it. • This again creates more playable options. Adding directional dodging moves by double tapping the directional keys in any direction to quickly roll, flip, dash, or move in that direction. Double tapping buttons can be fun in games because it’s not always about the action being done on screen but the combination and rhythm of button presses being performed. (I’m actually really curious to how this would work in warzones.) • “Legacy Inheritance Items” shouldn’t be bound to specific classes. Similar classes that use the same type of items should be allowed to share the items. For example I created eight characters, one of each class, to experience each storyline, so then the inheritance items are only good for one character. Unbinding the items would also help with Light Side and Dark Side color schemes of the crystal colors in the weapons. • This game already has more than what several MMORPGs give, but I’d like to be able to create more than 8 characters without having to start over on another server. At least 2 more slots would be great, or this is probably a better option, to allow everyone’s Legacy level to carry over to other servers. • These have probably been mentioned by others, but to add more competitive game types like Pod Racing (on several planets), Pazaak, and Dejarik. It would be fun to be able to gather and trade Pazaak cards. Also it would be neat to have a phone app of Pazaak that can be played against other players in the game or on their phones. • Rare species unlocks. I got this idea from another MMO, that once a character reaches level 100 it would then unlock a new class that’s not available from the start. Since this game’s max level is 50, maybe unlock a rare species creation after getting 2 or more characters to end game, or after reaching a certain Legacy level. I would really like to see more of Yoda’s species. I know that they’re rare but some class storylines don’t ever show one at all, and to me Yoda’s appearance plays a big role in the movies so his species should play a big role in the game too. I kind of feel the same way about the Wookies too, plus it will add a new overall feeling to the game. I’ve imagined how cool it would be to create a corrupt Yoda with a red Light Saber, and this MMORPG is missing a short race of characters. I was also thinking of a main character droid as a rare synthetic species, for example having the option of making a 4 armed Sith Warrior droid. Since there are 8 classes, 4 force types and 4 gun types, then what if after completing all 4 force character storylines it unlocks Yoda’s species as a class creation , and after completing the 4 gun type character storylines it unlocks a synthetic species. Both of these rare classes don’t have to have a storyline and don’t have to have companions. These rare characters can level up just by doing side quest, warzones, and other group activities. • More ambient life, movement, and sounds. The planets feel too lifeless, and I’d really like to see very large ambient movement in vast distances. • A larger soundtrack for the jukebox. • Day and night system. • Main characters should be able to craft also not just companion characters. Main characters should at least be able to use the crafting station on board their ship. • Imperial Agent companion character “Scorpio” customizations, and ship droid customizations. • Equipable costume gear that equips over the armor just for appearances. Nothing crazy looking, just something to help create uniqueness between characters with the same armor. • Dynamic events; unexpected random missions received by holocom, that can be a starship mission or ground based mission, to receive different rewards (like costume items for example). • Unexpected solo companion missions that let players play just as a companion character to complete random side missions for rewards. These side missions can be bound to specific companions so that players don’t always pick the same character to play as. I have a habit of sticking with my favorite companions all the time and pretty much just using the rest for “Crew Skills.” I’m thinking that by letting players play as these companions that others like me might start using these other companions more often. • Being able to have characters learn companion abilities. For example each companion could have one or more abilities that can be taught just by using the companion. The more you use a certain companion the more XP gained towards learning their abilities. These too would be fun to show off in warzones. It’s very hard to try and survive a match against two or more players in warzones without help. Abilities like these and the Legacy Heroic Abilities could really help turn the odds when a single player finds themself outnumbered by the enemy and it’s up to them to try and defend or takeover an area by themselves or until reinforcements arrive. • Show Legacy level for others to view. • More customization options. It’s pretty good right now but you can never have too much because the more unique a character looks the better. • Extended level caps and story chapters. Even without extended chapters it would still be neat to level up more. • Multiple landing locations on planets. • I got this idea from another MMO. Cross server warzones, operations, and flashpoint grouping because at times it can be very hard to get group together. Numbers, symbols, or something can be added at the end of everyone’s names to represent which server they’re from so that characters with the same names don’t conflict. • Cross server Galactic Market. • I would like to use the holocom for private chats with friends in the game. It would also be neat if the game had a voice chat feature that used the holocom. • A phone app that’s linked to the game that allows players to craft and send companions on missions. This can make phones feel like our very own holocommunicator. • I’ve always thought this would be cool to have in an MMO to help add to realism. People with headsets talking to each other can be heard by other players passing by them (if not in a private chat). The further away your character travels from the talkers the quieter they sound gets until you can’t hear them anymore. For example this would be no different than how it is on Xbox Live were people talk freely to each other in most online games. • This idea came from the first MMO I’ve ever played and still haven’t seen another MMO do this but some that have come close. Custom uploaded guild icons. The guild leader can upload an image from there computer to be used as their guilds symbol and placed next to every character’s name in the guild for others to view. • This is an end game idea. After a player gets at least two characters to end game and each character has at least one companion’s storyline complete then those characters can then share each other’s companions that have completed storylines. • Loot pets. Pets that gatherer drops or find hidden treasure. Basically pets should do more. The way I look at it everything should have more than one purpose. • It would be cool if pets could level up and grow into larger or evolved forms, and at max level could even assist in battles. (This again goes with being able to show off to others what has been earned.) • In game TV screens in cantinas, or where ever, that show things like warzone clips and other news. It would be neat to see real in-game Huttball clips, winners of Pod Racing, and Pazaak & Dejarik champions. Also news like PKers names, profile pictures, and bounty prices. • I got this idea form another MMO. It has a completely different type of gameplay mechanic than this one, but I was wondering how it would work with this game. 1 on 1 PVP tournaments that can be spectated by others. When players win matches their character’s division level increases until they reach a division that requires them to have better stats or a new strategy. The tournament queuing window can show the names of everyone playing and who everyone is versing. A match can be selected from this window to spectate, and the spectator has options to chat and thumbs up or down players. Everyone starts out at division level 1 and the division level can be seen next to every character’s name. A character can move up or down in divisions based on their wins and loses. For example if a player were to win 3 matches in a row then they’d move up a division, and vice versa, if the player were to lose 3 matches in a row then they’d move down a division. • Zoom ability. I don’t know what it is about being able to zoom in on something in video games but it’s definitely a plus and never gets old in games that have a zoom feature. It would be neat if all characters got a pair of binoculars just for the soul purpose of being able to look at things in the distance. • It’s kind of disappointing that some classes have abilities that use explosive type of attacks that only affect a single target and doesn’t do any area damage to nearby mobs. I think anything that is close to a blast radius or crossing paths with an attack should suffer some damage or at least react to its affects in some way. • I got ideas from several different games and I really think this idea can be fun and addictive to play, along with being quite simple to setup since all the features are pretty much available already. The idea is for a PVP game that can take place pretty much anywhere. Players can toggle their character’s PVP flag on to attack other players from the same faction without requesting a dull; in other words PKing friendlies. After a Pker kills a certain number of characters a bounty price is posted for anyone to claim by eliminating the PKer. Also the bounty can increase the more the player kills. Once a PKer is eliminated by another character hunting them, the character then receives the bounty reward and the PKer is given the option to revive in a large prison like abyss filled only with other PKers at that time. To keep high level characters for just standing around and killing low level characters, a PKer can only receive rewards depending on the level of the character they are fighting. For example a level 45 character would gain nothing by killing a level 15 character outside of the abyss. Within the abyss type prison PKers must wait out a set amount of time, but while in the abyss players can continue to fight one another until their time is up. Like in warzones, everyone’s stats in the abyss are set to level 49 to make a more fare fight. Bounty boards can be used to accept missions to hunt down PKers by adding the Pker’s name and last known location to a “Hit List” in the Social Window. The Hit List can be used to let players know bounty prices, who they’re after, and/or who PKed them for a chance at revenge. Players that are PKed can choose to hunt their killer(s) down by receiving mail or holocom calls with tips of last known location of their killer(s). After receiving tips, the Hit List is then updated. If a character that was killed by the PKer hunts down the Pker and eliminates them, then the PKer gets a FlyText in bold letters that says “revenge” or “payback” or something to let them know that they had killed this character before. A Pker can gain a small reward for every kill or every milestone they meet but they also get a timed penalty buff/debuff for being marked as a PKer. The time of the penalty buff/debuff increases the more the player kills friendly characters. The buff is a large increase in attack and the debuff is a large decrease in defense, or vice versa. Once a character is marked as a Pker, they stand out amongst everyone by glowing a specific color. The color changes depending on how many characters the PKer has killed making it hard for them to remain in populated areas (like the Fleets) for very long before being eliminated. This then should causes characters to spread out more to places that usually have no purpose. Also the thrill of hunting or the adrenaline rush of having to watch your back is what I think will keep this type of gameplay fun and addictive over a long period of time. In game TV screens can be placed throughout cantinas and fleets to show the galaxies most wanted with information like character profiles, names, and bounty prices at that time. I think it would be neat to see my characters profile on a big screen as the galaxies most wanted, and to see how high bounties rack up. • Speeder boost. • A larger selection of speeders for all ranks. • It would be nice to have something more in the VIP area onboard the Fleets. It just feels pretty much worthless up there. • Being able to unify color of companion’s armor. • It would be nice to have a toggle option to see text bubbles above character’s that are chatting, because I minimize the chat window a lot. • Events more often. • Character birthdays. • A new warzone that focuses on vertical gameplay such as ascending and descending a structure with multiple stories to achieve certain goals. Also to add multiple platforming routes that can be used as optional paths or shortcuts. • I’ve notice this suggestion mentioned on the forums and it’s a great idea; starship PVP. I don’t know why this wasn’t a must from the start. • It would be cool if the starship missions could be played on touchscreen phones and pads. • Underwater areas. • After clicking on a market kiosk, I’d suggest switching the “Galactic Trade Network” window with the “Inventory” window. In other words place the “Inventory” window on the right and the “Galactic Trade Network” window on the left. This has actually been bugging me from the start. I’ve been using a workaround by opening my Inventory window before clicking on a market kiosk, but it should just be setup like this by default. My reason for doing this is because it places the Galactic Trade Network’s dropdown windows right in the center of the screen, and it’s less mouse movement when having to sell items. • More “Huttball” arenas (indoor & outdoor). • An option at the character creation screen that lets players choose a personality type for their character that affects how a character looks when standing idle, or a character’s idle stance should change with the Light & Dark alignments. • Add an “Insert Poll” option to the forum’s “Post New Thread” area so people can vote on things simply by clicking. Then after a selection is made a bar graph can be seen that show the percentages of the poll. • I miss being able to search random containers for loot like in the KOTOR games. Even if a container is empty, it’s still fun to search. This always made exploring more fun. • A mini game, downloadable or web based, that can be played during server down times. • It would be nice if we could customize our own choice of colors for armor. At least for the chest area so that we can still use the unify color option. It’s fun to see how different color combinations look, plus it makes it fell like our characters have a change of clothes without having to actually change armor. • Adding more phrases for companion characters to say, because hearing them say the same things over and over again gets old really quick. • It would be cool if this game had OnLive servers for people that have low quality systems. • A ship music terminal that lets us access music from our computer’s hard drive and play it onboard our characters ships, also to let others who are grouped and onboard able to hear it too. • Being able to customize the looks of our speeder mounts like paint colors, light colors, body kits, sound effects, decals, and the option to overlay decals and change the color of the decals. • Ship interior decorating like fish aquariums, plants, trophy & model cases, etc. • Add voiceovers for all the “Codex” entries in the “Log” window so that they’re read to us rather than us reading them. Basically like an audio book. • Add voiceovers for the mail, because I don’t ever read the mail but if it were read to me I’d listen. (I have bad eyesight so reading puts a strain on my eyes.) • The option to allow a companion character to gather drops. • Some computer RPG games use a click-to-move option, with a mouse, for controlling a character’s movement, so why not add a click-to-move feature to control companion character movements. This would add a strategic and more tactical feel to the game because it would be like issuing commands to a companion. • Un-transparent the map when a Sith Inquisitor uses their “Seethe” ability. The map turns transparent because the character is moving during this ability, which makes it hard to see the map while using “Seethe.”
  13. All the characters on my account were given the tauntaun pet. My question is if I were to delete a character on my account to make a new one will my new character still get a tauntaun? In other words is the pet tauntaun saved to my account or just to the characters at the time?
  14. It’s actually been a while since this happened, but the fee-to-play game “Soul of the Ultimate Nation” (S.U.N.) added a new character (Shadow) through a patch that came several months after the launch of the game.
  15. Wow, I read all 8 pages of this post and it seems like most went Light. My first character was a Sith Warrior, pure Light all the way to end game. I have a smuggler that’s pure light too but I only play that character with my brother (which is rarely ever). Once I first seen the pets I was excited about the Interrogation Droid because it flies, but when I noticed that only Dark III can get it all the rest of my alts are now pure dark just because I want that pet, lol. My IA and SI were Dark III by level 25 and my BH at level 24 because of Diplomacy. I actually felt bad about several of the choices I made because a lot of innocent characters died, but if there were Dark points available I chose it. Khem Val is pretty easy to be Dark with for the SI. Kaliyo loves my IA, lol. My IA is at level 34 and Kaliyo’s affection is at 5806. Mako makes it a bit difficult to be Dark with the BH, so I usually have to dismiss her during some conversations. I’m glad that I finally got my BH’s second companion because Mako was starting to make me mad, lol. My Sith Warrior being light got married to Vette and her affection is maxed out. In most cases I pick the options that benefit the companion’s affection. I usually back out of the stories and re-click on the NPCs several times to see which dialog options reward affection points. The only reason why I came across this post is because I just finished Chapter 1 for the IA and I passed up my first Dark Side option. ((SPOILER)) I didn’t side with Darth Jadus because I didn’t know if it would cause the death of Watcher 2. I was looking on the Internet to see if anyone did side with Darth Jadus and how it affects the story, but it looks like most go Light with IA. It must be frustrating going Light with Kaliyo.
