  1. I've killed people as AS solo. Of course I usually get the notification that I won while I'm sitting it the respawn area. Dots of VENGEANCE!
  2. The "combat tech" armors and the "super commando" armor are for DPS and Tank vanguards respectively. The "combat medic" and "eliminator" sets are for healer or DPS commandos, respectively. This is for both the PvPs set and the PvE sets with the 2 and 4 piece bonuses.
  3. I doubt there'll be a new level cap till 2.0 but I'd love to see some actual abilities for more of the level 30 spec talents rather than just so many move buffs. Also moves inspired by certain famous characters Since I mostly play republic I'll focus on republic moves and names, but imperial versions should be fairly easy to come up with. Jedi Knight (both ACs) Focus Snap kick/ Sith warrior Head kick (Obi-wan and Anakin battle in Ep 3) You throw a quick kick catching your opponent when they least expect it. Make it either a stun or just an off the GCD attack to throw in. Jedi Consular (Both ACs) Balance Saber leap/ Same for sith inquisitor, probably (Yoda does it to a clone in Ep 3) You toss your lightsaber at a distant foe and then use the force to pull you to your blade. Does impact damage and DoT damage after you pull the blade out and is a move for sages to hit people with their light sabers. Non talent move for sages - give them force slam back as the ranged incapacitated minion kill move. sorcerers could have some vertical lighting crush the target or something or do the same really. Troopers (Both ACs) Assault specialist Sapper round Not sure the BH version name You fire a sapper round that does 5% more damage per dot on the victim, and detonates any assault plastique or sticky grenade knocking down any target not immune to CC.
  4. Low level Both DPS specs 1. I haven't had anyone say anything to me about it. 2. Both feel fun, but I'm liking the instant gratification of TK spec right now. I look forward to the hybrid spec I saw a while ago when I hit 50 which I think might be a little loss of burst damage with no auto crit, but will just feel more flow like and it should be close if the damage of the moves stays the same relative to each move. Of course that's probably a bad sign if I look forward to a hybrid spec instead of a full one since hybrid is not what the design team wants people to go with, but battlemaster or rakata set bonus might make me change my mind when I have access to them.
  5. Both dps specs 1. Other people seem to feel burdened by my lack of interrupt to help on bosses where one matters. Otherwise no real issues I've heard. 2. As assault I enjoy burning things but Don't feel like I help others other than off heals. I also have an inferiority complex with vanguards since I have no guaranteed plasma trigger. As gunnery I feel the vortex debuff helps others and it feels fine for damage whether or not it actually is.
  6. Just thought I'd post an observed bit of good news, saw that plasma cell got fixed. Glad to see it:)
  7. I normally play assault spec, but my guild finally had 4 50s and our sage thinks he's a bad person to play a healer, so I respecced to healing. After the nerf. My gear was 2 champion and 2 centurion pvp healer pieces and a battlemaster eliminator piece. We did HM false emperor, all just learning it, our sentinel looking up boss mechanics as we got up to each one. First day we beat the boss before last (no spoiler:) ) and then emergency maintenance hit. Second day we beat it. I only was noticably low on ammo the fight with the 2 droids. And when we had wipes that I feel were my fault, it was me missing a heal because I was either dpsing or trying to cc when I shouldn't have, not being low on a resource. The hard part for me was having to multi target heal fairly constantly due to spread aggro. That said, I can't see how I'd be anything near effective healing 8 people. Also, how are people sub 50 supposed to heal? My 4-piece bonus makes my 2 cost heal and free heal come off cool down faster, and I noticed when I swapped my 2 centurion pieces for tionese ones, losing my 4 piece bonus I went out of ammo quick just doing my occasional goof around healing on my ship droid. Should classes be balanced around gear bonuses and 4mans? Is there no way to include raid utility as separate abilities? Am I expected to buy black hole stuff just to rip out my armorings with bonuses to stick in there? I'm not even trying to compare cross classes, not trying to figure why all the metrics anyone has posted say we're worse than any other healer. If we're not as good, but we're still good enough, I don't care. But what about commandos who just pve? Are they supposed to just fail at healing until they have a 4 piece set? How are they supposed to get that set? Is there some mechanic that I'm missing that should cover these things? TL: DR Do the metrics for determining healer performance include figuring how healers are supposed to get to these levels of performance? Were the over performances even present in the top end content or just in the things you did to get the gear to try for the top end?
  8. This whole thread is an example of WHY devs don't often reply. People think a dev trying to seem human and responding to sarcasm with some of his own is a sign that they are holier than thou. RuQu did troll in his comment. That was met with (what should pass the reasonable person test as) equally light hearted counter trolling. People whine about the counter? Please... The reason for the lack of re-spec was given by an official person. You don't have to like the answer, but the question was answered. I don't like that I can't force choke people, but the devs aren't about to make me personally telekinetic because I'm a whiner. If you don't like the game because you got nerfed, sorry, it happens. If you don't like it because they didn't make a mistake in your favor like they did with shadows, sorry they got things right (as they see it) for you. They didn't change how the class worked, they changed how well it worked. TL: DR Save your whining for things that matter in the game. Which generally does not include one dev's attitude about getting trolled.
  9. On the shielding topic, I've read attacks have 2 rolls. One to see if you hit or miss/are defended against, and another to see if the hit is a crit, normal, or shielded against. On that second roll, crit and shield both eat the normal hit chance, but crit will eat shield, so if you have 50% shield chance, and they have 60% crit chance, then you really only have 40% chance to shield.
  10. I play an assault commando. Okay, if you're done laughing, my first impressions are I didn't "feel" nerfed. I did my daily pvp quest, and normally got 8 or 9 medals, I think I got 7 once. My gear is pretty crappy from a comparitive stand point, just full champion 5 piece set, but I was getting the 2.5 k medal every match with AP, which it didn't always get, my charged bolts feels like it hits the same and in general people seem to die more easily. That might be the healing nerf, though. I even feel like I last longer against inquisitors and marauders. I still usually die, but just not as fast. Is it possible that grav round now uses ranged calculations instead of tech and the ability to be shielded makes it hit for less? Also I read long ago that GR was supposed to be used to build and maintain the GV debuff, and then you were supposed to use CB. I know CB doesn't build the shield or charged barrel, but does it hit harder when GV is 5 stacked?
  11. Why CB got nerfed, I'm not sure, but probably so it's not better to use it if you're gunnery. If you mean the every 6 seconds on ionic accelerator, I figure that's a burst thing, but if we get it almost guaranteed every 6 sec, for pve that MIGHT make for a easier time with ammo management since... but since it was rare for it to take 5 global cool downs to proc, I don't know. Maybe they figure people won't get PO'd when they CB a bunch and never proc so people can use other stuff in the break...like hammer shot... But I still love my assault spec And why does GR hit harder than CB. My CB says it hits harder when compared to the GR in the talent tree, and kinetic damage (GR) is supposed to be reduced by armor, so they should not be that different, even with the reduced armor, the first hit shouldn't be much worse.
  12. I know everyone says Assault is worse for pve, but I'm not totally sold. I like assault spec. The damage from incendiary round is good and has more chances to crit per cast than a grav round, maybe there's some goof with how they apply damage, but my charged bolt says it does more damage than a grav round, and with the 9% damage from a target being on fire, that probably is roughly the same as grav round with the 20% lowered armor. I'm not sure how the 35% armor piercing stacks up to the 1300 ish damage plasma cell does (assuming the 30% increase from the talent isn't included as it also says it only has a 10% chance to work). And assault plastique in pve is useful as a cc and usually a kill for dealing with adds. Also on fights where you only have short bursts to cast and move, having your basic shot not totally suck (just mostly suck) is nice. On the last fight of Esseles for one, It was nice to be able to shoot and move and on the rare occasion I mistimed stopping to shoot, I didn't feel like I wasted much time not getting off all of full auto, or a charged burst. If I'd missed a grav round, I think I'd have felt it more. But make no mistake, to beat enrage timers, you do have to stand and shoot most times, but charged bolt isn't that horrible compared to GR, and it has a higher base damage so against low armor targets it may hit harder like it says it does. I do wish they'd make the flames on incendiary round look more single target, but I do love the fire effects. Take what I'm saying with a grain (or full shaker) of salt. I haven't played a gunnery commando in hard mode Esseles so I don't know how the having to be stationary more would hinder me, and I'm going by buggy tooltips for my napkin math. But frankly I like the feel of assault spec, and I don't feel that I would be much improved playing gunnery style.
  13. Not EXACTLY the same. Sentinel is the mirror AC. You do get heavy armor at least as a JG. You don't get some of the cooldowns that Sentinels get, but I believe I've read that Vigilence is pretty good for both pvp and pve, and at high level focus is pretty decent, but can get focus starved if you don't play it right or spec it right.
  14. Sages do have first or second tier talents in both dps trees that either give them heal side effects or boost force regen.
  15. I agree that IF Maul was a class from TOR, he'd be a Darkness (tank spec) assassin. He was on the defensive during most of the 2 on one and he still dropped one.
