  1. Same issue as everyone else. No servers or characters listed. Source Server: The Swiftsure Character Name: Nobby Destination Server: Master Dar'narla
  2. There's nothing to be confused about. Bioware stated that there are individual rankings/performance as well as team.
  3. Hi there buddy, friend, pal. What mathematical basis did you use to derive the statistic that players need to become ten times better than they currently are? Pretty sure my gear gives me only 12% more pre-mitigated damage to players with no expertise. Not 1000% more. Buddy. You also have to take into consideration the multitude of non tanking classes that have a bundle of CC that stop me from even attacking them for a great deal of time. Can you give me more of the RIGHT data that you would use for your MMO or someone elses. Thanks bro.
  4. This is a very gear-centric point of view. For PvE you have the following components: -Each operation has multiple bosses. Each encounter has it's own strat -Operations have base levels of difficulty and choices of difficulty -Gear has limiting factors of success Players are required to understand and properly execute encounter strats. Failing to do so in hard mode will ultimately lead to a wipe. This aspect alone prevents most pugs from acquiring better gear from those operations. The quality of your gear and you peer's gear has one constraining factor. Assuming your strat is executed well, are you going to hit the enrage timer? For PvP you have the following components: -Each warzone is what it is. You don't even need a strat. You can get champion bags from losing enough times and doing your best to get various ezmode medals -The difficulty of a warzone is dynamic. You have no choice in the matter. Actually, you do. -Gear has limiting factors of success PvP will reward those that completely fail. You cannot argue this. The only argument that remains is "Is it fair how long it takes for a random, single-queueing player to acquire gear?". If a warzone you got in is somehow doing YOU injustice, leave it and requeue. There's no penalty and ragers do it all the time. You have a choice. You can also choose to queue with other people and increases your chances of success. Stop being lazy. Gear doesn't win you objectives in PvP, it just makes it a little easier to get them. At close to max expertise it makes it about 12% easier. The last thing I'm sick of reading is how people reckon geared players can run around and solo everyone. It's total BS. Regardless of how awesome you are, most people and classes in most/every situation cannot succeed 2v1. Two compitent players in poorer gear than one well geared compitent player can smash them. This is not WoW where many classes can take on packs of players if they have awesome gear. In my case 2v1, when two sorcs jump me in a warzone while I'm solo defending a cap(which happens all the time on Swiftsure), my gear puts me at about 50% HP before I get to control my character instead of 20%. That's the reality of it.
  5. So you're telling me that it's impossible to do your best to defend a side node, die, catch the fast speeder back and repeatedly die in the name of holding the friggen point. I do that even in good grear. It just means I can do it five seconds longer each life with high expertise. It's all strategy and only strategy. It's not even my goal to systematically kill zerg players 1-by-1. You fail to remember how many crack-heads just tunnel players and ignore the guy capping behind them. You forget the stupid thing they do like take the middle lane speeder back instead of the left or right one. Human error is the biggest killer.
  6. By thousands of problems you mean one problem. You can bundle all the expertise threads into a couple of sentences "I just hit 50 and I have to play in the big league now. People dominate me" "I lose 1v1 fights with people in warzones and it's somehow affecting the rate I get better gear" "I'm the best player in the world but a terabad pwned my face cuz his gear has expertise on it" It's nothing more than that. There isn't a single thread from a premade of four players with minimal gear that are complaining that they cannot do well at warzones because of expertise. It just doesn't happen because it's not even that big of a problem. The reality of Battle master is that it takes a long time to acquire that rank through warzones. Once you break that barrier, you need to lay off the games and get **** done in real life. That's the simplicity of it. If you have nothing better to do in real life, you make an alt and level that up. I don't have time for alts. It's got nothing to do with science buddy. Simple logic here. Solo queing, bottom-feeders are getting hit hard. Whoopty-do. Lets cry about it on the forums and hope Bioware screw the system up so that a bunch of chumps stuck in a temporary situation can have it a bit easier. They're the same chumps who eventually get geared and then complain about other players in their pug team who have no gear and somehow lose the game for them. A small corner of the PvP community come here to complain, praise, comment on PvP gameplay. It never properly reflects the actual state-of-play. Only in-house server statistics we don't have access to do.
  7. Tell me why you must fight their whole team - head-on in order to win. Give me examples for all three warzones where a poorly geared team cannot win under those conditions.... you can't. All warzones have multiple avenues for success.
  8. You've pulled complex political contributions of one type of problem into the disucssion of a simple from, as an analogy. It didn't mesh so well. A simple example with respect to the game itself would be: -I approach a PvP objective. -The blood hungry but stupidly geared player launches at me with the intention of blowing me up. -My team mate sneaks in and acquires the PvP objective Expertise does not affect our ability to resist CC as well. You can easily be successfull in PvP with CC coordination and simple understanding of player behaviour in games. People are only indicating to me that they are requiring fire to beat fire when in fact you don't need it to win. Sometimes I die defending objectives with one other friend against five people and the pugs on my team refuse to pay attention. We hold the objective for the whole game purley because: -They fail to coordinate CC on us to capture the objective -They believe that they should be able to take down a tank guarding a healer -Geared played a factor to the point where it purely determined how many dumb arses we could hold off the point.
  9. It's more along the lines of: You would consider the equivelant of Hardmode PvP as your opposition team being well geared, being organised and having a good plan. Your team being poorly geared, having no coordination and poorly executing everything. If you are genuinely finding this to be the case all of the time, it really only says one thing about you and your faction, on your server. I will not be so rude as to point it out. Simple as that.
  10. You would be right if it was like that every match. This is not the case though.
  11. This is my second thread about current end-game PvP that i'd like to share in simplicity. My first thread on Expertise is here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=269091 Now fresh 50s are complaining they are copping multiple objects being inserted into their rear ends every game by players with rediculous gear. They cry on the forums like it happens to them every game. How could it? I'm at Battlemaster rank as of four days ago. I'm well geared and I notice about 1 in 20 players will give me a 2.5k hit medal from my stockstrike as a tank. It indicates to me that most people on Swiftsure lvl 50 PvP have some sort of gear. I will also make the point that on many occassions, those badly geared players have solo ventured over to me in a warzone and taken me 1v1. After dying to me once, they take it Upon themselves to continue to die to me 1v1. Are you going to complain about gear curves now or are you just going to admit you are a dumb ***** sometimes. There is not adaptive strategy. Secondly and finally, once you get Battlemaster, you can only get two bags a day. There is no longer a need to play back-to-back warzones for half a day anymore. It therefore does not make sense to consistantly encounter full BM geared players which grieve you and prevent you from acquiring gear with expertise in it. It just doesn't add up.
  12. The most important thing to understand when you compare gear progression for PvE and PvP is this: -PvE content is static. Gear progression allows you almost guarantee success with content, every time. New content is released with a new gear curve and you start all over again. -PvP content is dynamic. The objectives remain the same but the players change every game. Gear is sometimes the hurdle required to succeed in the warzone but not every time. Gear curve increases you chances of guaranteed success, providing your strategy is good and well executed. Having said this, when I read posts about fresh 50s getting stomped, you get the impression from them that every game has full BM geared players. Being a regular PvPer myself, I can confidently say that on Swiftsure, this is not the case by a long shot. You have good games and bad games.
  13. The internet allows us to communicate better and easier with each other..... doesn't it?
  14. For some positive help in your direction, there is a PvP armor vendor in Illum, under ground near the level 50 FPs. You can buy level 50 bracers and crap for cash from the vendor. You can also buy level 40-46 weapons with commendations that have mods/enchancements with expertise on them. Pull them out and put them in your gear. Seriously, there are so many easy solutions to this supposed expertise issue it's not even funny. It's just sad how lazy and stupid people can be.
  15. -So before they isolated 50s to their own bracket you cried like an unloved only-child because geared 50s were peeling your face off while you were leveling. -Bioware put in place a means to prevent this from occuring -Now you are at 50 and once again face the same geared players after being sheltered from them and you still complain At some point you have to face the music. There are always circumstances you are going to be unhappy with. Try playing as a tank that goes down like a clothy because you can't avoid and mitigate damage while being chain force-choked.
