  1. Fair fight? Aren't you Dark Side? There's no fair fights here. If you want a fair fight, would you swap out your armor with lower tier if you saw someone in lower tiered armor? No. In the end, you want the pieces to have an advantage over everyone else, otherwise, the pieces wouldn't exist. All your other points are valid, though, and this is still a lame system. The only thing that gives this system any kind of validity is if you didn't have random drops, only the absolutely most dedicated (time-wise) players would have it. Casual players would never have it, and moderate players would only have some, which would probably cause both casual and moderate players to want to play less.
  2. Players don't know what is good for them? Does that mean YOU don't know what is good for you? You need BioWare to tell you what is good for you? Can't make a decision like that on your own? Most people who defend this lame system are usually the types who have been burned the most, but instead of hoping for change for other players, they'd rather let everyone suffer as much as they did. That's a very selfish attitude. And IMO, THAT sounds more like a 10 year old.
  3. I probably am, but the reason I looked at this thread was because I wanted to know if there's a definite reason for me to respec for PvP. I'm not completely convinced. It seems that for now (maybe different at level 50), I have no problem doing both PvP AND PvE. It seems I'm not quite as mobile at PvP, but when people are mobile, it's usually because they are about to die or are fighting someone who is not me. I don't need mobility for Melee and other casters are usually just as stationary as me. I'm not saying I don't move, but it's not as bad as it's made out to be. My question is how much of a difference does Pyrotech make at Level 50 than Arsenal? Arsenal has one or two PvP skills, and it seems the contrary in Pyrotech.
  4. One more thing I forgot to add. With my class setup, it seems I can do both PVE and PvP. I'm not sure how true this will be at Level 50, but it's working so far.
  5. I completely agree with this, especially the part about mobility. I am a complete noob to PvP and am pretty new to MMORPG in general. I use a PVE specced arsenal merc (level 31) in PvP and I do fairly well--never best, but NEVER worst. The classes are balanced enough that the difference in the better players and worst players is player skill. If you know how to use your class, that's what matters. I started looking into the different setups but each have their pros and cons. I'm going to stick with Arsenal because it's what I know and what I'm used to. I've learned to adapt my playstyle to it. Yes. I have trouble on Huttball because of LOS, but I rule in Voidstar and Alderaan (for the most part). I can hold my own in 1v1 if I'm in open field. If I have healer or tank support, I don't get killed as much. That's true for a lot of classes. My suggestion is to play what you think is best. Oh one more thing. I also mouse-click (but I'm learning to keyboard because it's pretty essential in PvP).
  6. I'm brand new to MMORPGs and even more of a noob at PvP. I'm a 31 Arsenal merc equipped for PVE. I only just started playing PvP (I figured what the heck, but I fell in love). I don't have heatseekers yet and I mouse-click. Though I'm never at the top, I'm NEVER at the bottom and I usually end up 4-6 at the end of the day. I've found that 1v1, I hold myself very well, if I get the jump on someone, I win always. My kd is mostly positive. I will admit that there are tons of players way better than me and I'm super squishy in a group, but that just means I have to stay on the outskirts. It seems to me all the classes are balanced if a brand new noob like me can do as decent as I do and I'm not even equipped or specced for PVP. As far as opening and burst damage, three tracers and a rail shot does more than 50 usually.
