  1. Revan DID warn the Old Republic...In KOTOR 2 we are explained to us that Revan started the Mandalorian War to test the Republic so it would be able to fend off the impending invasion by the True Sith empire. What more of a warning do you need?

    Hackers

My guild runs in premades ONLY. We use voice chat and do really well most times. There are more hackers than some will lead you to believe, however, not as many as others will in comparison. I can easily do 450-650k on a lowbie sorc/sage. But then again we always have at least 1 healer in our group to keep me alive. You can tell hacks from "lag". Lag is a consistent thing. Hacks come suddenly and result in a lot of jumping around by the hacking user. I don't bother reporting them as like a previous poster stated, it seems a waste of time and energy. I get accused of damage hacks in whispers and /say tells...I just know how to play a hybrid spec sorc very well...when spec'd correctly it's pure instant casts due to procs. Know the different specs, skills, team variations and if something just ain't right after those are taken into account, then it's likely a hack. I look up hacks often to see what if any are being used at the moment as a "flavor of the month" by hackers. Lets me know what I'm up against. SWTOR won't bother to check these sites. Someone needs to. Keeping yourself informed every step of the way is a good way to have an honest game. I get beat all the time by better players. I don't mind an honest beat-down. I can't win every match. But to say there is no problem at all is just letting it happen. We play both Pub and Imp and have seen it on both sides on Harbinger. It's not one faction more than the other. It's certain guilds and persons. Every game has their hackers. It's a way of life in MMOs. Deal with it or find a good Nintendo single player to play. You are always free to leave a warzone if you think something is fishy. If you need to FRAPs something ut can't affrd the software, OBS is a great free streaming/capture program. High on memory usage so with SWTOR's crappy "Hero Engine Beta" client and it's 2 gig of memory usage it may result in lag that further frustrates and leads you to inaccurately call others out on hacking. Close programs like Chrome and emails. Anything you don't NEED open should e closed esecially if you lag a lot. I simply do not lag at all unless it's a hack or a little on fleet with everyone logging in and out at a single location. My point is to be informed, know your PC, your team, your class, your opposition and think before you accuse and report.
  4. "I just got 3407 credits returned from a 3200 credit mission and there has always been a loss overall from lockbox missions" Ummm...Fuzzy Math anyone? If you got 3400 credits from a 3200 credit mission you STILL made 200 credit profit. Now with that said the reason it got nerfed in the beginning is that people were crying (as usual) that they weren't making as much as those who took up slicing. They cried it was unfair. All they had to do was make an alt and take up slicing to supplement their mains income. But that type of logic is lost on most of the MMO population who want it all right now. Hence the reason for most nerfs in MMOs. When people just deal with their own mistakes and lack of vision nerfs won't have to be so often or so drastic. You wanted this nerf now deal with it!
  5. Sounds like those in favor of getting rid of expertise are just not that good at pvp and can't get the expertise gear they want due to being so horrible. Deal with it. Nothing is perfect. They took expertise off the 50 gear like WH so stick to the 10-54 modes and you are set. Otherwise pro up or go home. Simple as that.
  6. Hey Bioware. Not sure if this has already been suggested or not, but if so here it is again. Battlefront 2 had some of the best space combat for a Star Wars Franchise game (IMO). So why don't you guys include that into this game or something akin to it? The taking of objectives was there. The Player vs Player was there. The Solo play was there. Going to different worlds to fight was there. Everything was easily laid out for you all to use as a drawing board. We players have been asking for space pvp combat for some time now. This would also get the ships off the current "rail system" and give us more natural/realistic flight simulation. The advantages would be huge, IMO. Possibly you could/would see an increase in subscriptions. Heck, make it ONLY available to subscriptions while F2P remained on the "rail" system. Your customers would be somewhat happy again. And you would have a new PvE/PvP arena for players to fully enjoy the Star Wars worlds in their entirety. Change the looks of the ships to match the current models, add some mechanics and let us use those Fleet Comms for that. It's an idea that may help bring people off-planet and put them back into the dying space missions while boosting subscriptions and more.
  7. I have a Carnage Marauder for my main class. I know I'm "squishy" as compared to my warrior brother Juggernaut, but not as squishy as some other classes. That being said, if you have a marauder that is constantly jumping in before the tank, they simply have NO CLUE as to their roles. I never have an issue with building rage nor fury. As a marauder, I don't go straight after the bosses, I go for the adds when applicable. If there are no adds, I either wait 5 seconds before jumping in or jump in right after the tank and use battering assault and a couple basic attacks to get my rage bar built up to full before unleashing hell on the mob. On Fabricator in KP I usually take the time to ask to hit the boss to build up my stacks of fury before the puzzle is started. Not all Marauders are stupid in other words. I have a good guild that I get into voice chat with and we talk strategies and know what each other are capable of. My tanks know what mobs I can handle without them wasting a taunt on so they can better protect the group. It's about communication and knowing your class. I ALWAYS go for defensive rolls in my spec. My Carnage Spec Marauder needs that as it is a PvE only marauder. I have a smash Marauder for PVP. Maybe instead of pugging with Marauders who don't know their roles, you should look into finding a static group or a guild who knows what they are doing and go from there. I have seen Snipers who can't keep their hands off their Orbital Strike skill the same way you describe marauders. Same with Sorcs and their Death Fields. It's not just a Marauder issue. It's a PLAYER issue all around the board. With people coming in from other F2P/Pay 2 Win games where group mechanics are frequently ignored (i.e Runes of Magic) we will see more players like this. When 2.0 comes out Marauders will be able to use their "Channle Hatred" out-of-combat heal to build their Fury stacks instead of having to rush in so the enrage timers aren't hit as frequently.
  8. eh...totally up to you. I like slicing for the discovery missions. I hope they increase the drop rate on those otherwise pretty much what the above poster stated. It does have its benefits on planets like Alderaan and Taris though. Seems like every noble on Alderaan keeps a safe box in their front yards. And all the rich people who once inhabited the Upper City section of Taris pre-Malak seem to have had all their safe boxes blown out onto the planet surface during the bombardment.
  9. yup...long rotations but man they do some nice damage when done right.
  10. Look...it doen't do any more or less damage does it? then it sin't tied to her death. It's tied to the fact she is a HEALER. Healers die first and foremost. The mark didn't get her killed. She would have died anyhow at some point. Fine let's take away the marks then. Let's say that they fixed everything and now we have Target of Target. So I target the healer and have the rest of the group target me t see the healer. It's the EXACT same thing and you'll be asking for it to be removed as well. No matter what the mechanic is the pure simple point is that Healers get focused. Mark or no mark. She probably thinks it's due to the mark when maybe she died a horrible death once with the mark on. So mark the enemy's healer and be done with it. If you still need help understanding...FOLLOW THE BOUNCING BALL...L...2...P It really is that simple and on topic. Marks don't kill heals...Healers kill healers by healing others in their party. It's just how the PvP world work with or without marks.
  11. well as a healer ya aint smart to get away from your group is what im saying...your a HEALER...HEAL...you leave someone else that doesn't need to be guarded as much behind to defend. But you didn't say that at first....You said you hide behind and in walls. And I'm simply trying to tell you that being squishy and standing in one spot is a deathtrap. And for me "marking in vent" do even know what I'm talking about? It's not a "mark" it's more of "Hey...let's focus the healer so the other team doesn't get heals!" That kind of mark. A VERBAL mark as I stated earlier. And if your fingers work to pole-dance so well and you have all that time dead since you like sitting still in one place time after time, you can very well do the same "mark" in Ops Chat and HOPE someone is paying attention. But all good players know you either CC or Kill heals FIRST! Tank is always last...he wont do much damage and the other targets are much easier to dispatch than the tank. That you don't do this tells me exactly why you fail in PvP so much. Otherwise you wouldn't be in here QQing about the same thing the OP did. Communicate with your team. If they dont communicate back chalk it up as a fail group and try again. Hopefully you'll find a group that knows how to kill things with efficiency and not just because they tab targeted that particular person cuz they are closest. So you go ahead and "pole-dance" all you want. A good team will have you like a runner trying to steal home and caught in a "hot-box". See I'm smart enough to stay with the group...not stand there and then whine when I get killed. I just respawn and go back at it. You respawn and go right back to the same exact spot. So don't cry to me cuz your tactics don't work and mine do. L2P and you'll see the difference.
  12. Hmmm...you are soooooooo right! How can an open world PvP subscription game with a record Launch be a "top game"? Oh...it wasn't WoW..not an excuse. Oh...because you didn't play it makes it a "not a top game"....that sound more likely. Unfortunately it had isuues between the Devs and the US publishers as far as content so it didn't fare as well with its counterparts. And not nearly as well as it could have. But it was a major player in its time and had marks. It doen't add or decrease any amount of damage so it's just a QQ session...deal with it
  13. and you jst keep going ahead and standing still...so glad you arent on my team...id try my best to kill ya just for standing there like that. a raid mark does NOT inflict extra damage or anything else such as stuns...so it has no effect except that people can see where a camper keeps going. If you are camped and we see your tank more than 15 meters from ya guess what? You aren't guarded...hence you are gonna go down fast. And I'm smart enough to stay with my group. Plus I don't need to turret ca,p an entire WZ like you say you do. So with that said...again...L2P...get pro or get out...Da End!
  14. why is it fail that i don't stand in one place and make myself an easy target? You clearly need to go to the bank, take out a loan, and buy a clue. I marked in AION nooblette. Not in SWTOR. I'm not a tank here. If I were the group leader or tank maybe...but I'm not so I just go fight like a warrior should. If you need to hide all the time and camp one spot by all means...but don't QQ cuz it gets you killed cuz you are too far away from the rest of your group and aren't within guard range. You ain't gonna turn it around on me as I don't hide in PvP...I go get my kills and get killed...thats the name of the game. Too bad they dont teach you that on your Barney shows kiddo....must be awful to be that fail you have to hide an entire PvP match...If I were you...(thankfully I'm not that noob) I wouldn't waste tie with a re-roll...I'd just quit out of utter failure. In Wow it may have been normal to hide and camp the entire time...here it gets you killed...So...Child...still
  15. Aion...you clearly don't play many games
  16. no im saying dont just stand there and not expect to get killed. The hardest target to kill is a moving target. Just a fact. You admittedly stand around "pole-dancing" and hiding behind walls...you camp...plain and simple. Stand still you get dead real quick. I don't use marks in this game. I'm not a tank. Pay closer attention...I said in AION we used marks on dredge for PUGs and on vent we would mark them verbally. Not hard to tell what a healer looks like with their gear. Not hard to see a green or purple heal radius either. Just mark em back if its an issue which it obviously is for ya. But don't hide behind a wall as you state you or your healer does or pole-dance the entire time...that sets you up an an easy target. Some people have no idea what tactics are and how to use them to their advantage. and if they can't figure out how the come here to complain that it's not fair. Well if ya want fair, wait till August and it will come to town and you can ride all the rides ya want...but if you can use it too then I reckon it IS fair and sounds like ya need to just deal with it or go watch cartoons kiddo! You lost your point by telling me you pole-dance and hide behind objects, standing there an easy target for a whole group, marked or not.
  17. nope and dont hide behind walls or stand still like a dummy like you say you do either. I FIGHT...PVP...you know...what you are SUPPOSED to be there for...not hiding and "pole dancing"...definitely L2P if this is how you PvP...means no skill if ya gotta hiide...campers dont win PvP matches they lose them!
  18. you that fail you gotta hide behind walls or in walls? Maybe THAT's why you are getting marked...taking advantage of a wall glitch makes it impossible to target you which now I see why they needed one. And if you aren't using a glitch then you are STILL standing in one spot if "coming from behind the wall throwing heals and ducking back...". Standing still in PvP is instant death in this game. No wonder! So it's one of those two things...you are taking advantage of a wall glitch to avoid being targeted and the only way they CAN target ya is a mark, or you are just standing there as you said in your post only coming out to heal as people run by....So which is it? Exploiting or standing still...either way it's definitely L2P now....you have no point
  19. I raid and craft. Objection is if you want raid quality gear why not go Raid? I agree...I worked hard to get my professions up and I work hard to do well enough in raids to get the mats I need for Rakata gear. Like a kid saying they are done with dinner and only cleaned half their plate. You ain't done yet...finish the work if ya want the product. Those of us who have put in the work don't mind doing both. THAT's already been determined....what hasn't been determined is why the QQers feel they should get the same benefits for less work. I don't ask for BM gear to drop off Dromund Kaas creatures...I have to go EARN them in a WZ. Same with Rakata gear. You want the product you have to do what it takes to get them and nerfing an already easy system is just foolish.
  20. Biochem (Quinn has some decent bonuses for this profession such as Diplomacy and Bio) Artifice (Vette has a Crit bonus of +5 to Treasure Hunting and a +5 efficiency bonus to Underworld Trading) Synthweaving (Jaessa has +5 crit to Synthweaving and a +5 efficiency bonus to Archaeology) These are some of the best skills/professions to take as it means you can either make stims (great for Juggs...as important as your buff), armor (another must for a tank), or lightsaber hilts and enhancements/off-hand shield/power generators. Broonmark has a +10 efficiency bonus to scavenging which for some synthweaving and artifice recipes you will need scavenging mats like polyplast and plasteel and resinite. But the first 3 are pretty nice professions and the 3 companions I listed are the first 3 (besides robot) you will get as a warrior. Ultimately it's up to you as the warrior (especially Juggernaut) can make use of all 3 of those professions I listed above. Hope this helps ya!
  21. then mark yourself if its such an issue. If im in a PUG i tell my team over chat to focus the healer...if in premade we focus the healer. some people then use marks some dont...deal with it already and go have fun. Shes making it out to be that shes op if shes not marked but a mark magically kills her like some bad luck charm. the mark just clarifies. Sorry if you don't like it but that's how it are...it's not difficult that if one team does it to you do it right back...or maybe it is...Ive never blamed a mark on me for dying...that's just ridiculous. It was my lack of skill or lack of teamwork that I died. If shes marked and she can see it then her team can see it. Which in turn means if the team can see it they will know she is being focused and can do more to protect her. That's just common sense. even in a PUG...if the team is that terrible each time that they cant recognize a mark on their healer they didn't put there for the intent of focusing her down, well...get a premade and ya hopefully won't have that issue anymore..."end of story"
  22. well sclicing CAN be beneficial to Cybertechs as well...just for the simple fact that it provides some of the schematics for Cybertech. Since the slicing nerf, I have actually used it more to get bonus missions than to rely on supplementing my credit income. To get any real profit from slicing I have found that grade 3 and grade 4 missions have the best income potential vs cost of mission. This isn't ALWAYS true...but for the most part it hasn't let me down. And I save 1 of my companions to run the level 5 and 6 missions in slicing for the high level discovery missions. The purple lvl 340 missions on my server have been going anywhere from 2k to 100 maybe 200k depending on the level of the mission and level of intelligence by the seller. For instance selling a mission for 200k when the other person selling the same thing has it up for 10k...would have been smarter to buy the mission for 10k yourself THEN try to sell both for 200k. So yes...slicing can be very fruitful if done correctly. Don't rely on box missions...finding boxes and nodes out in the world to pick up is better than focusing on farming them from missions. Usually with a purple mission yield you'll get a blue credit box as well that has some nice creds in them. So I consider these a bonus. Scavenging is great for credit making as well. Scavenging is useful to SO many professions that any surplus is bound to sell decently on the GTN. Just keep a weathered eye on market conditions and the money is there. Any skill can be a money maker...if you approach it in a sensible way, and are making more profit than loss. If you are losing money simply try moving up a level for mats or again, check market conditions...what sells? What doesn't? UWT is a VERY lucrative skill atm due to high demands on Mandalorian Iron needed for high level professions like Cybertech for mods and ship parts. If you are cybertech and want to make these items start farming them ASAP and sell none of it. You are going to need it all. Just when you think you have enough for everything you find yourself lacking.
  23. doesn' matter if on vent or not...can mark in a PUG too...not hard to do...then you tell your team in opschat to focus the mark...Why is this such a hard concept. One group does it but you guys don't have the common sense to do the same thing? Me thinks YOU need the reality check here. L2P or go home
  24. YOU don't seem to get the point...being marked doesn't mean instant kill...it just tells the opposing team who they are going to focus on. If you don't want to be stun locked and unable to heal then don't heal through PvP. More than likely they just have you targeted due to your role as a healer. You go down first it's gonna be hard for your team to survive without you regardless of a mark. That's why they do it. without you they don't NEED to mark anyone else...those people are going to die so quick anyhow that a mark on them can be pretty pointless. But you? We take you down first. You are squishy. You heal which makes you a VERY focused target straight out of the gate, even more than the tank. Like I said in my previous post...You are marked one way or another. Better learn to deal with it or reroll. Sounds like a reroll is in order cuz ya aint dealin' with it too well at all. Life happens.
