It's an event that IS useless to the majority of veteran players, and if they didn't call it an event but just made it something that was intended to bring in new players rather than coerce veteran players, the rage would be excessive. However, because only characters leveled through this event will impact storyline changes coming after KotFE, the "state of the galaxy", it IS coercive to those of us that play because it's Star Wars and we like the lore.

Similar to others here: 8-10/10 for new players, -1/10 for the rest of us

That's a fair point, guess I was thinking mostly about the population imbalance between pubs and imps -- which favors the imps.

The worst part about the money-grubbing insult that is this event? The in-game canon will be affected. Drawing only from the characters created during the event, the decisions made will influence (through majority rule, so probably favoring the Imps) the 'state of the galaxy'. That is an exceptionally coercive way to, well, coerce people like myself who have already gone through our own 'star wars saga' and all that to grind through 8 characters again... just to have our 'vote' counted. I'm a founder and have played since launch, as well as several other MMOs over the years -- this the first time I've felt insulted. Just absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm legendary/founder, and this is literally the stupidest, most blatantly money-grubbing event I've seen yet. Just really lame.

Thanks for your reply. I have an old af CPU, a core 2 quad Q9550, but my gpu is an r9 280 so I can usually manage pretty well. I can't run, say, Battlefront at all - but I can play DA:I and Fallout 4 on medium high settings. I guess they're more demanding of my GPU, so it's okay, but I suffer during PvP in this game. I'm talking drops to 15-20. I don't ever have problems with WoW, and frankly GW 2 runs smoothly most of the time. I know I need an upgrade badly, but I can't justify the cost of a new mobo, a new cpu, and new ram, all of which I'd need haha. Anyways, I was just wondering if you had performance issues on higher end machines, too.

Okay, so my computer is aging and while my GPU is decent, my CPU is less so. My FPS, even at low, drops a lot in combat, and especially in PvP. In cutscenes and milling about it runs mid 50s+ on High. I can run much more demanding games at consistently higher framerates, and so my questions for you all are these: Does your fps vary wildly? How much is your performance correlated with your specs, or is this a problem with the Hero engine? Am I correct in guessing the game is much harder on CPUs than GPUs? TL;DR my game doesn't run smoothly and it makes me sad to play.

Any word on whether this has been fixed in the latest patch, or if it's on the radar? Still strikes me as a pretty major bug.

Yes, exactly, thank you. It's hard to feel immersed in my story-driven Sith marauder character without any animations. I'm not really mad, but it really is an easy fix.
