  1. Put up your LFG message and go about your business. Someone forming a group searches for people with their flag up and invites them. That someone could be you if you are impatient or a take charge type person. Easy. People just have to use it. If no one puts their flags up with meaningful messages then it's useless. Although I don't think searching for "LFG" searches through all online players... I think it just looks through the players on the planet or fleet you're on... It needs to search all. That would be my one complaint about it.
  2. There has been a LFG tool since launch. why does no one use it?
  3. Or rather gray is the current process. DL or install... red being for the whole update process... downloading and installing progress all wrapped into one.
  4. is it? If so then, Good. I was hoping it was server based and not account bound.
  5. I have 13 characters on 3 servers. 4 Republic light side on one server. Eventually I'll have 4 more Republic but they'll be dark. 4 Empire 3 light 1 dark on another. Eventually I'll have 4 more Empire but they'll be dark except one. and 5 characters on the Test server. I go here to experiment. want more characters? go to a different server. I'd certainly like more slots on a server. I'm just saying we aren't lacking in total slots.
  6. Nope. It will update through the launcher.
  7. I like that there is a robust UI editor in 1.2 It's so robust though that most people won't bother with it... You can save a set up though... I think it won't be too long until we see all sorts of UI set up save files available for download from fan sites. The new content doesn't effect me... as I'm someone who's been playing since launch... pre-launch even... who's highest character is lvl 28. Edit: and here's a thread with a link to UI files already lol http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=401640
  8. We will be bringing down servers for eight hours on April 12th, 2012 from 12:01AM CDT (April 11th, 10:01PM PDT/1:01AM EDT/6:01AM BST/7:01AM CEST/3:01PM AEST) until 8AM CDT (6AM PDT/9AM EDT/2PM BST/3PM CEST/11PM AEST) read the stickies... I see you're on the east coast like me so to be more clear for our region. We will be bringing down servers for eight hours on April 12th, 2012 from 1:01AM EDT until 9AM EDT.
  9. I suppose it's possible... but I was on for a good 4-6 hours a day for 5 years... so unlikely. But the servers were in Japan and I mostly played in the afternoon Japan time... So I'll qualify it to long maintenance once every 6 months. if they had hour long maintenance monthly then I may have missed those. Anyway that MMO was small by comparison and a year old when I started. SWTOR is both large and young. It is only to be expected that there be lots of maintenance periods.
  10. FFXI My first and only MMO until SWTOR. I did start it about a year after release. WHat is DDO?
  11. The last MMO I played before this had maintenance about once every 6 months or whenever an expansion came out. But yeah weekly maintenance just means they're constantly fixing things.
  12. It um does. Type into the search field what you are looking for and a list of everyone else flagged for that comes up. It includes everyone across all the planets.
  13. So they can use their short range or melee range abilities on them. Corso is essentially a BH or TK class and those classes get a bunch or short range things as well as regular range things. But with players it's used to pull an enemy away from a friend... the companions should rarely use it if ever. But yes having to constantly turn off the skill is very annoying.
  14. I do one of 2 things during maintenance: 1. Play Skyrim 2. Play SWTOR... because the test server is still up during maintenance and during maintenance the population on the whole server goes from 5 people to 30 people.
  15. The team is based in the US. That is the answer. When I play games based out of Japan I don't expect their server down times to cater to me. You shouldn't either. If they took the servers down at different times you would get people complaining that they are favoring which ever groups servers were patched first. The fairest and most efficient way to do server maintenance is all at the same time. Deal with it. Heck I'm in the US and MY prime hours are 12am- 4am... guess when they take the servers down. right during my prime playing time. I recognize that there are more people in this world than just me.
  16. I thought the hero engine was supposed to let them make changes without needing to take the servers offline. I may have misunderstood... maybe it was just for the development stage... I don't know. Also what was the item selling exploit? now that it's fixed... no harm in telling.
  17. I only notice it when there aren't other people around. Usually there are so many other people that we're competing to get the kills. Been a few times when I just ran through empty streets to my objective because the 4 person group ahead of me killed everything.
  18. That's how much the VIP band costs. To the OP: you had Early Access so you were lvl 40 before official launch? man you level fast. I had Early Access as well. I had the most Early Access it was possible to have. My highest character just hit level 25 today. I'm enjoying my items thank you very much.
  19. I'm having no problems. I do have an amusing happenstance though... So random person mailed me some stuff I couldn't use. I thought someone was dumping their old gear on me... after all I am playing a female character... so I sold the stuff. A couple of days latter I get a mail from someone with a very similar name to mine... asking if I'd gotten any strange mail intended for them... DOH!
  20. How is this game breaking at all? It's a slight visual bug that's hard to notice amidst a pitched battle. It doesn't stop the ability from working. It's just a slight annoyance for people that are overly observant. Low priority bug is low priority and deservedly so.
  21. also its for pre-ordering any edition of the game... not just the CE...
  22. When you right click the minimech item it disappears and becomes an ability you can use... it's in your abilities general tab.
  23. It is a fun mini game. It is very very repetitive. Having free roam 3D space battles would remove a lot of the repetitiveness as you could come at the battle from several different directions. Or take different paths. Also multiplayer is a big tenant of the genre and the fact that space combat is not multiplayer is a huge failure on their part. I was again disappointed that the Republic and Empire missions are just reskins of each other. So yes as something you do maybe once a month it's fun. As something you do multiple times a day for a couple of hours... it's wholly inadequate.
  24. You all know there is a LFG tool in the game right? You click on the number of people in your area and you can put your LFG flag up and have a message for the type of group you're looking for. Then you can search for others with their flags up. It works just fine. Why do they need to add another tool?
