  1. Your point of view is quite flawed... they are in the same catagory for me, which is big name releases. If I play D3 and it takes up most of my time, why pay for a SW sub? If it takes up even a portion of time that D2 took, I won't have time to pay to play anything else. Heck, I've lost guildies to LoL which isn't a MMO, but is another popular PVP game out there. TLDR, the whole viewpoint of games in other catagories not affecting any MMO is pretty ignorant since gamers don't stick to just one catagory.
  2. Yeah, there is something they can do... Follow through. The WZ didn't have to be bugged... BW let it be by not giving us the ability to test it. The PTS was packed... but it was mostly with level 1-30 players. And if they don't have the ability to quickly add a quest giver that gives mega exp, or give you an already level 50 character with some basic gear, then they failed to make basic tools for themselves to even handle a MMO. In any other MMO, the GMs can basically do anything they want, give you any item or amount of money, even max out your level... why does this game fail in that regard? If they created the game, why did they make it so hard on themselves? Or when they say, it isn't easy to do things... are they just blowing smoke up our rear ends? I refuse to believe that they can't modify accounts directly to add a template character to users accounts on PTS.
  3. I put capital ship battles, since I would think that would also be part of 3d space battles. I could see a mix of capital ships and personal fighters in the mix. Maybe the point could be to defend your capital ship.
  4. I would say that torstatus.net is the closest thing we have to charting population. While no where near perfect, one can base some conclusions off the number of light, standard, heavy, etc. servers and for how long they remain in those states. There is 3-1/2 months of data available, and while I'm sure the first couple of weeks BW was tweaking the parameters, it would make no sense for them to gradually adjust those parameters to show what the long term graphs show us the past 3 months. That is, North American servers have had a slow but steady increase in servers going to "light" status. Europe basically looks the same as the NA servers. And Asia Pacific servers have a healthy and steady population. You can pick out individual servers like The Fatman and see it has a very healthy population, which has been also seen in game. You can pick other servers and see they're light almost 100% of the time. Anturi Reach would be one example of that. And instead of hating on Torstatus, trying to disprove it's usefulness, use it, and test it out for yourself! It tells you the best servers to play on, whether you like a high pop or low pop.
  5. I'm in the 3 month crowd, and my sub is cancelled as of now, but I suggest you tinker around with 1.2. I will try it out for another month and go from there. 1.2 UI developments are very welcome, as well as them starting to add some guild features and legacy stuff to work for. Though, I don't have eyeballs right now on the test server (maybe they did that so we wouldn't see any bugs? lol) In any case, 1.2 makes the game feel less beta like and if you haven't checked it out yet, I would before making any final decisions.
  6. Yes, this whole "it's impossible" attitude is silly. If it can be thought of, it can be done in a virtual world. FREE YOUR MIND! I also played UO and enjoyed many of the freedoms in that game.
  7. Hmm... telling someone that you're "roaring with laughter" because of their comment is insulting and rude at best... Most certainly it is not what I would consider intelligent conversation. But hey, I guess that's your opinion. (I guess it could be intelligent if your intent was to put the other person on the defensive, or get under their skin... for whatever purpose.) Edit: Btw, I agree with your point of view that this low population stuff stinks. I'm just saying you're not going to win anybody over by talking to them that way.
  8. For some people it's not a deal breaker... it's completely subjective. For you it seems to be (and it is for me as well,) but what's the point harping on people for what they enjoy, or how they enjoy it? (a little overboard on the cheating example btw... but that's just my opinion)
  9. No, the point of a non-answer is that no matter what the truth is, you haven't told a lie. And to the guy who said SR confirmed it was dying... come on now... just read a little further and he clarifies. I don't like that sort of mis-truth regardless of what side of the fence it's on. It doesn't help your arguement any... but it does diminish your own point of view.
  10. So, if someone calls you a name, you feel justified doing the same thing? That just means you're 1/2 of the problem. Rise above man!
  11. "Not that I'm aware" = Probably not, but I'm going to leave myself an out, just in case... and I'm not going to look into it to confirm. Anyways, if you guys are looking at stuff long term, a 1 weekend blip doesn't really matter much. The tools are out there to compare NA servers as a whole, or individual servers like "The Fatman" and I would encourage people to use this data to find a server to reroll on, or transfer to when the time comes if you are on a crappy server. Also, I would encourage people to test 1.2, as the game really has a different feel to it... many of the "pebble in your boot" type of issues have been fixed or improved (for me at least.) In fact I don't plan on playing live until 1.2 hits. The game can be quite fun if you have others to play with, but as a solo game it's kind of a drag. With the PTS being so busy, it was fun... and logging onto my server isn't. (The Shadowlands btw)
  12. Yes, if you right click them and go to properties, you can see they range in dates from Feb 2nd to Feb 13th. That's pretty misleading... For the sake of arguement too, people need to consider whether we're talking about Asia Pacific, NA, or European servers. If you look at the trends on Asia Pacific, things look pretty healthy, however if you seperate out just NA servers and look at the trend (using torstatus) you can see a steady increase in light pop servers. (this isn't a good thing) Also, when the Devs commented that the game was growing in subs, is that including the Asia Pacific sub numbers? I would like to see how just NA is doing... Of course they'll never admit to the game doing sub-par... it's their job to promote the game too. They sort of have a vested interest.
  13. This is my understanding so far... Of course each RE only has a chance of learning the recipe RE Green Item -> Blue Recipe RE Blue Item -> Purple Recipe RE Purple Item -> Orange Recipe Create several Oranges until you "crit" craft with an Augment slot. But I've also seen fully moddable purples now too... I'll focus more on getting some recipes to orange though to make sure this is how it works. I've been more focused on getting blue recipes, since early on you out level things so fast it doesn't make sense to take it to purple and beyond.
  14. I've been testing the 1.2 patch, and I have to say the game actually feels more complete. Feels like we're not playing a beta anymore. Granted, they have some bugs to fix, such as a major sound glitch that continues until you exit the game and come back in, but overall the improvement is extremely noticeable. The UI stuff is pretty slick, some of the gripes about crafting fixed, guild banks. I don't have a 50 on PTS though, so I can't comment about fixes to endgame. Edit: I wouldn't want 1.2 released with that sound bug... so I have to disagree with the OP. Don't release NAO.
  15. Lol, ignorance is bliss I see... Identity theft isn't just about one piece of information, it's about piecing together the puzzle... Your full name is just one piece. With that kind of attitude, maybe karma will bite you in the rear end.
