  1. I question if "killing" Revan will actually happen, Bioware tried that once in a mid level Flashpoint, fans didn't like it. I also hope it explains why he suddenly has gone "Hmm Revanites, yeah maybe they aren't as bad as I first thought, ah screw the republic I'm going with these crazy cultists that have clearly haven't read my novel!" That aside, all the class stories were left pretty open at the end of chapter 3, and it saddened me that we will never see them properly continued again. I hope that they are just holding onto that cherry to bring it back for the Emperor's return expansion, in which I guess the Empire and Republic team up to bring him down? who knows, I can't see how the SW would turn on him but never mind. This is a good step in the right direction, if they can do one quest for each class this expansion, hopefully we can get more in the future. At this point I'd even be happy if, lets say in the next expansion, they only do one planet, and we all get class quests on it and no planetary quests, sure kills the multiplayer aspect but so few people group up to quest on planets anyway, and those that do want to can just do each others class stories together. My guess for what they will be, is... sad to say unrelated to chapter 1-3 and probably just... "insert class title here" We have heard of your exploits on "insert class story element here", you are needed to stop a new threat! meet me at "insert location".
  2. So far I've finished the Dancer's outfit (who even wants that?) gotten the bottom half of the Perceptor's outfit, and gotten the legs of the Revan outfit 8 times, never seen the mask or chest piece. I also have a nice collection of emotes and speeders, then the rest of the junk you get in the pack (exp boosters etc...) This is the first time I've bought anything off the store, saved up all my points from when F2P hit and the extra I got this month from subbing and bought a few extra coins from one of the cheaper offers. I bought about 8 or 9 packs, got a lot of the Revan's Robes (as I mentioned) nothing else worth having.
  3. I've been looking this over for a while now and the only difference between the two shells is a shield gives +20% shield absorb +5% shield chance and most importantly the ability to even shield an attack. A Generator gives no benefit, the only difference between the two is how they are itemised so if I were to take my War Hero Generator's mods and put them into a random modable shield I should only be gaining the shield stats and not losing anything correct? Seems like a bit of an over sight by Bioware to let us equip shields without being tanks or just not give any kind of benefit to using a generator shell > a shield.
  4. Did you call him out before speaking to him on the ship? that seems to cause issues with him not gaining gear. There are other bugs with HK. If you complete the quest to unlock him at 50, he has no portrait in your crewskills window but if you buy him for a low level alt through legacy he does get a portrait. He also messed up viewing items on a companion, as you will toggle through the window and find that one of your companions is missing and one is doubled up, normally HK himself.
  5. No he comes with all level 50 gear with grade 51 mods, which can't be used on a low level character due to not meeting the requirements. His gear is meant to scale but its not working yet.
  6. Odd that you menion that because so far I've sent Kira out of countless missions and she's critted probably less then 20 times. In the few I've sent HK on so far, he's critted in almost every single one and this was way before gaining full affection. I question if his crit chance is incorrectly stated it seems a lot higher then 1%.
  7. He's useless pre-50 due to gearing problems and also not gaining affection from conversations. His combat skills are the best of any companion by far, though healers are still preferable. He doesn't have a "Love" gift which makes the lack of gaining affection more of an issue. At level 50 however, when you do use a companion (daily areas) he is good, though his best trait by far is his crit chance in crewskills, he's saved me buying a lot of augment kits, and doubled the production of my costly consumables. This is where he shines most, so sadly I rarely have him out for combat since I always have him crafting or doing gathering missions since he seems to always bring back purple grade mats.
  8. I don't think you understood the issue with pre-1.2 Expertise, the defense gained from Expertise completely nullified the damage gained, the only thing getting a buff from it was healers. The reason for re-working Expertise is because healing was becoming so bad that DPS couldn't kill anything if healers were healing each other (still a slight issue to this day). DPS needs to be in excess of healing otherwise games just become stagnant with neither side being able to kill each other and only capping when you CC the healers taking them out the game, rather then simply killing them. Yes in a one on one engagment a healer is pretty much a free meal to a GOOD DPS, but you always have tanks to reduce their damage by 80% with Guard + Taunt, and your CCs to help you live. If you can't out heal a DPS thats only doing 20% damage even with the expertise changes then I don't know what to say. Now lets break down my current expertise bonus (rounded down for simple maths). 22% + to Damage 18% Damage Reduction 12% + to Healing As Damage reduction takes + to damage down to 4% Healing is still on top with 12%, meaning you are gaining 8% more to your healing then DPS is to their damage. There is nothing in expertise that allows a DPS to nullify the Healing bonus but the damage reduction does mitigate the damage bonus.
  9. The Jedi Rakghoul thing was Taris' world story though not the BH story. Your story on Taris was to collect the impossible outcast Mandalorian Bounty. They also weren''t being used as a weapons, it was just a Jedi training Nekghouls because they were clearly sentiant, which under republic law means you can't slaughter them like animals and need to extend diplomatic channels where ever possible. It'd be like discovering Ewok's just to kill them because they don't speak basic and aren't space age level in technology. Like I've said your blaming the entire republic, an organisation built on peace and friendship with thousands of worlds under its control, because ONE Jedi had it in for you because you wounded his pride? He lied to everyone else, I can understand being against the Jedi, but never did the Council come into play either, he used Jedi under him and made up lies to the Senate to get you to be the most wanted man in the Galaxy. Which makes no sense there are far greater threats to the republic then one Bounty Hunter who honestly you could hire yourself if you gave him enough credits. That's why he had to lie, because you got away and foiled all of his attempts to capture you, anyone else would have left it alone but this Jedi clearly had a huge superiority complex and couldn't, so he lied and took it to extremes. As far as I'm concerned my vendetta was against him not Chancellor and certainly not the entire republic. As for the Empire hiring the BH, it can sometimes but mostly it doesn't and you've been given the choice to battle both the Empire and the Republic multiple times, when the credits are right. But that doesn't explain why in PvP and PvE and every other aspect of the game the BH is an Imperial class, there is nothing Imperial about it. Where is that long term contract that was given to the BH by The Grand Moth or a member of the Dark Council that makes their work Imperial exclusive? It doesn't ever exist, which means if you took the BH story and placed it in a neutral faction it wouldn't make a difference, you wouldn't jump up and go "Well its clearly an Imperial Class!", same if you added it to The Republic's roster, up until chapter 3 it wouldn't make any less sense being on the republic side.
  10. The republic has hired bounty hunters before, although reluctantly, Braden worked for them at one point during The Great Galactic War, but I'm not really saying the BH should be able to work for the republic, I am saying that in terms of the BH story he is never really alligned with the empire in such a way I would consider it an Imperial Class, if anything he is nothing to either faction, he takes jobs from random people and imperials but mostly the Mandalorians. If you discount the world stories which aren't really part of your story since everyone does them, then within the confines of the BH story there is never truly a point in which you work for the Empire, you simply get a few contracts from them, mostly just to get to your true target, Balmora springs to mind (and you kill an Admiral there). The only time you work for the Empire is for Tormen's contracts and you have the choice to invalidate that at the end of the chapter. So before and after chapter 3 (depending on the choice you made) you never work for the empire, you mostly work for the Mandalorians, which does seem to hint at the BH story being written back when BW thought about having the neutral/underworld faction. It was the very first class we were ever shown after all.
  11. It was when I first met the guy, because I refused to go peacefully and killed his troopers (again attacking imperials), I'm the galaxies more wanted I'm not about to unarm myself especially on an imperial cruiser. He said something to the effect of, "You damaged my properity so I'll damage yours" and starts choking Mako, you don't even have Skadge at this point. I even told him then and there your gonna die for doing that. As for the Chancellor it seems to be he didn't approve of what he found out to be complete lies in the end which is why, in letting him go he clears your name and leaves politics for good afterwards, then its time for my payback on Tormen. Meaning I'm now cleared of all republic charges, the Former Chancellor understood he'd been lied to so really not his fault, he was fed false information and has gone to live out his days peacefully. The true one behind all my headaches and killing of the Inner Circle, which aren't mandalorians they're just great hunt champions, Mandalore says there's always a Mandalorian in the Circle and he has to leave, which is why he makes you one, to replace him as the Mandalorian, was the Jedi and I already got my revenge on him. So as of the end of my BH story, I'm all good with the republic and I killed a High Ranking Darth.... hardly in good favour with the empire, and everything else chapters 1 and 2 don't lead me to believe in any way that the BH is or should be alligned with the empire, he works for himself and only himself.
  12. Its more the Jedi then the Chancellor, speaking with him I understood he was a good man and he cleared my name with the republic, just because some bald Jedi had it in for me because I injured his pride a few times isn't enough reason for me to hate the entire republic, I've certainly had issues with the Imperials as well, Tormen choking Mako was a big, "Well you've just painted a bulls eye on your forhead* I hold no allegiance to either faction, but that's the point I don't see why the BH is an Imp class in everything else when its story never really ties you down to just the imperials, if anything its a nothing class, in regards to the factions. Its not a soldier and you can, within the confines of the story, attack imperials just as often as the republic. Again from a gameplay stand point it would have taken more work to have a neutral or under world faction and that for the sake of PvP/E and side balance the BH needed to be on the imperial side, I just think Bioware could have done more to explain why it is an imperial class.
  13. *WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED CHAPTER 3* Okay having played through the story of the BH fully I understand in chapter 3 you can't work for the republic until the end depending on the choice you make, but for the rest of the story and after chapter 3, they give no reason as to why you can only fight for the Empire. Personally my BH was more of a Mandalorian always fighting for Honor and Glory, not out to make credits for cheap kills. So I found myself in an odd postion, I have killed top tier Imperials as well as Republic Officials in almost equal number. Most of my contracts have been from the Mandalorians and even those involved killings imps as well as pubs. From a story standpoint there is never a point where I thought for a second I was working for the Empire and ONLY the Empire. I understand for class balance that the Imps needed their "Trooper" but shouldn't the story have reflected that? Shouldn't there have been a point where you work for the empire soley? You do in Chapter 3 but you can choose to turn Darth Tormen instead of killing the Supreme Chancellor so at that point you've again become a free agent. The only "tie" I can think of is that you are a Mandalorian and Mandalore is working with the Empire. Yet the role you play in the Mandalorian culture kind of stops dead after you stop Jicoln on Taris, so you aren't fighting with the other Mandalorians. Really is there something I missed or is it just a game machenic and the story was never intented to reflect it?
  14. I'm not so sure the Emperor has been in-game yet, not in his true body anyway, but I do believe the one in the Revan Novel was his true body for a couple of reasons. I'm a collector so I got both the hardback and audio versions of the Revan novel, finished the book a few days after release and listened to the audio version not that long ago. Both portray The Emperor Scourge encounters as vastly darker and having a far more powerful presense then either of the voices. Infact in the audio version of his voice is very calm while speaking but at the same time malicious, like a dark whisper telling you to do evil and it echoes. I loved this voice and hope Bioware reuse it for the true emperor. Now given his written discription and the pure fear Revan, Scourge and the Exile felt just looking at him, and the special effects given to his voice, and his eyes being discribed as black voids. This all leads me to believe this was the true emperor, as none of these are traits any voice of the emperor has displayed, they retain their own physical bodies and voices to an extent. It could just be easier to portray that power and presense in writing then in the game, but the drastically different discriptions and pure power the Emperor had in the novel, just by being near him is something never truly shown in the game so it was either a far greater avatar then we have seen, or the true emperor's body.
  15. Because LS in the BH story is all about Honor and the Mandalorian Code, and DS is a murderer out for nothing more then making quick credits. Tarro had spat all over the honor of the great hunt and disgraced the mandalorians and his teacher, for this he did not deserve the honor of a duel and lost that right when he resorted to cheap tactics to win. So the honorable thing is not to give the scum that chance but to punish him by killing him without battle, thus he wouldn't go to the mandalorain after life, he needs to have died good death to go, he was not given this, thus his cancer was removed from the culture.
  16. Completely flipped during the BH story. Sometimes taking them alive is the LS option but more often shooting them dead is the LS option because your either finishing an honorable duel or saving them from the torment of their captors.
  17. The Emperor you face, is nothing compared to the one that struck down the strike team at the end of chapter 2. I believe that was the Emperor's true body, it certainly seemed FAR more powerful then that weak *** old guy on Dromund Kaas. No I think his physical form is still there, but like Nihilus he doesn't have much of one left, just dark energy barely contained by his flesh. That means destroying even his true body may not destroy the emperor, it might take what happened to Palpatine, a dying Jedi to drag him into the force after his defeat. If it comes to that, I'm willing to bet Revan will be the one to do it, since it appears to me that he used the Rakatan teleporters at the end of Foundry and wasn't really killed.
  18. The Foundry is a Rakatan creation and so is Belsavis' teleporters, which strike you with purple lightning and then teleport you somewhere else. Now in the Revan battle, he bubbles up and has some health left, and if you look up above him the lightning actually comes down from the ceiling and strikes him, they he disappears, and there are no robes or mask left over, so he didn't pull and Obi-Wan/Yoda on us. It seems to me that he teleported away.
  19. If you take any of the things you mentioned away from a Guards/Juggers you've effectively killed them in PvP. They will now have zero counters against ranged classes, their gap closer becomes a liability, if I charge a sniper, merc or inquisitor I will be instantly knocked back, and in games like hutt ball, since you brought it up, have to run the long way around to get back to them while they DPS us down and we have to sit and take it. They need those brief seconds of high defence/CC immunity to unload some burst, we aren't burst monsters like PTs and Maras. The force push reset of force leap was also something Bioware added because of how much Guards/Juggers were suffering with mobility, and not just in PvP but PvE as well. With only 1 ranged attack, saber throw, which is on a fairly long cool down, tanks had no way of gathering up ranged mobs or getting to them quickly enough, both Shadows and Vanguards have ranged powers, Guardians have 1. Without being able to leap without worries, Guards/Juggers would be kited and killed by every class with some kind of range, and that's all of them except their AC counter parts Maras/Sents. Infact the leap root effect is there to use master strike, because any other time people will simply walk out of its range before the third and strongest hit strikes. As for their AOE slow effect, again something needed to avoid being kited, if you can simply run away from us there's nothing we can do, our only ranged power has a min range as well, if you stay close enough we can't leap but far enough away we can't attack then a Guardian is just chasing you never hurting you. And Force Push without resetting leap was a useless move in PvP, except for tactical plays like knocking the ball carrier back, it sent you flying out of our range and left us with no way to follow up. What good is a knock back to a melee class if they can't attack you after it?
  20. I wish we had a death match type WZ so that 3+ healers cross healing have a WZ where they aren't being helpful, just so that can see how other classes feel in the current ones. As it stands right now three OP healers or 2 OPs 1 Sorc will not die while they cross heal each other, okay they aren't helping their team right? Just keeping each other immortal, that'd be great if it was Death Match but in objectives like Civil War, Novar, Voidstar and to a lesser degree Huttball, unkillable defenders completely break the game. Voidstar is a nightmare because of this. If they are cross healing and keeping each other alive for good it should stop them attacking/CCing to stop caps, this is an extreme solution but you can see how easy it is for them, considering they're ranged and have AOEs to stop any attack being succesful until their team mates respawn. Heck I bet even without their team mates they could probably hold the doors a good 5 minutes before dying, and only if CC is used properly. Yet no other class, not even tanks has this level of survivbility. If it takes 2 DPS to kill 1 healer, it's broken, because 2 healers = 4 DPS and 3 = 6 right? very very simple maths. Okay next lets look at group set numbers, limited at 8, so if you have any chance to kill an enemy team with 3 healers most of your team needs to be DPS with 1 tank and 1 healer? That is stupid, 1 dps should = 1 healer, the healer should require a tank and his DPS to kill his aggressors for him he shouldn't be able to freely roam about healing himself and throwing out a few heals to his team while a DPS is eatting his face. If guarded/taunted even 3 DPS wont take down one healer, there isn't enough damage. It is beginning to highlight a few issues, you need Maras/PTs now because they are the only ones with burst strong enough to shut healers down. Vegenance/Rage Juggers can go sit in the waiting bin, its immortal or nothing Maras are better burners. Snipers? yeah to many obstacles in WZs a healer can easily LOS you and heal back to full. Merc DPS? your okay but suffer the same issues as Snipers, very easy to LOS, you have the luxury of being able to move though. Melee DPS (not including Juggers) needs to remain high for now, because they are the only ones with a chance of shutting down healers.
  21. I hate voidstar as well, and given the choice would never que it, not in normal not in ranked. The reasons for this is that little divider Bioware added to the first two doors has done nothing to save a majority of the matches I play in Ranked being 0-0 and random victory being assigened, that is not a good setup for "Competitive Gameplay". The WZ either needs to be completely rebooted again, like it was back in beta or be removed from Ranked WZs. As long as you have, healers who know to, let you die but one by one, not in big groups and 2 or 3 ranged AOE classes, Voidstar will not progress beyond the first door, its long dull and boring and the majority of the map isn't even seen in ranked making it a complete waste to even be there in the first place. At most if the 0-0 is broken they'll either do the slow and charge approuch which, if you have the time left (which you shouldn't vs and good team) you can maybe get to the shields before the final room. The issue I have with voidstar is the entire design is based around dragging out the WZ as long as possible so you can win, it makes matches very long and dull, and getting two in a row makes my enitre ranked team smash their heads on their computer desks. Now if the full length was played out but beyond the first room I doubt it'd be so boring, if they split the first two doors further way from spawn like on the second door (after the bridges) then the map would progress more and be more enjoyable. To be honest the bridge to second doors part of voidstar is great and where most of the fun in the WZ is found, but people need to get to that area more often instead of being shut down at the first door. I'd like to see it rebooted where it isn't possible to actually stop a team getting to the datacore or at the very least very difficult to do, so that way its really which team does it faster/can delay the other team the longest, and stop the long drawn out battles at the first door.
  22. Yes I need my orange/yellow with a tint of red eyes back, that is what we saw from Anakin in Episode III and what Palpatine had, I find it highly unlikely that they weren't both Dark Side level 5 by that point, so why is Dark 5 Red eyes?
  23. That is incorrect only the new armour sets have their set bonus bound to the armoring mod, any that existed before 1.2 has their set bonus bound to the shell. So for example you keep it with War Hero but lose it with Battle Master. Meaning you need to PvP constantly and it'll still take you a few months to get the War Hero set, just to keep your set bonus, or you can get into a top tier raiding guild and go through the original tiers so your geared enough to get the new sets. All this just to use adaptive gear and modable gear to its fullest, meaning a lot of players can not use the modding system properly because of how Bioware designed the old sets.
  24. Like many others back in 1.2 I was happy to see orange gear which was our "appearance tab" finally coming into use. Then Bioware slapped us with "Well actually only the new 61+ armour has removable set bonuses..." Why? they say that they can't make the old sets work like the new ones, but WHY? Honestly if you came across issues don't give up, work around them, even if you have to recode all the old armour sets with the new sets format and then replace all existing versions with their new counter parts, then cross your fingers and hope it goes relatively smoothly when it goes to live. If you can't or wont do this, get to work on that appearance tab you dubbed "Too easy". One of the most casual things in MMO gaming is toying around with how you look, some people will spend endless hours and in-game money on just getting a look they like, but you'll find a majority of these players aren't in top tier PvP or Raiding guilds. Why does everything semi-fun at level 50 involve the really long and dull gear grind you set up in PvP and PvE? I honestly have no idea how this made it out of beta, maybe level 50 wasn't tested enough, maybe the forums were full of complaints about it and it fell on deaf ears? How did the design team at Bioware not even think about this when Moddable gear was first given the go ahead? Now you've added adaptive gear and for what? Those blessed few with the new sets? Honestly I can't get my head around any of this thinking, all these sweet new game changes but only for those who PvP constantly or Raid. If your modding system is causing you so many problems then maybe it should be converted purely to a Mix/Max stats system and let appearance be taken over by something that has been proven to work time and time again, an Appearance Tab. I would like to hear what everyone else thinks about this, yes I expect a few "Just work and get the new sets! stop wanting things handed to you!" posts, but to them I reply. I'm not asking for easy stats, I'm not asking for something to give me a combat advantage I just want to wear armour I like without having to lose my set bonuses.
  25. The game does a lot of casual things, in a very none casual kind of way, which to me is a bit idiotic. For example the entire legacy system seems to be geared towards the casuals but only the very rich "hardcore" GTN players can even afford half of the stuff. The same can be said for the mod system, to make any use out of it you need to be able to freely spend 500k+ at the drop of a hat, yet Bioware already announced that most players don't even have 1mill, again a system that casuals would like but only hardcore can access. Your definition of hardcore/casual might vary, but as I see it, Casuals are those who can't/wont invest great amounts of time and just enjoy playing with the games features, while Hardcore players are those that invest 15+ hours a week into the game, be it raiding, pvping, roleplaying or questing, it doesn't matter what your goal is but more your dedication to that role. Baring RPing, the other three areas will allow you to freely access these features because you'll be rolling in the credits, while a lot of the casual players don't even have their level 50 speeder skill until a week or two after they hit 50. Bioware really need to reassess who the target market is for these features and then decide the best way for them to be accessed.
