  1. The flaw in this logic is clearly a lack of understanding in how games are developed. Producers and Management are the ones who dictate how/when a dev does anything. Dev's are the 'grunts' of the game development world. They might have say in small ways to spruce up a quest or tweak some art, etc, Dev's are not who you rotate out if you want change in a game. You have to get rid of the big minds and replace them with people who have a better grasp of how MMO's work. Dev's have none of that control, rotating them out accomplishes the same as a farmer getting a new wave of Immigrant pickers, they aren't going to 'raise the price of produce' they won't be responsible for 'weather' 'planting season' 'seeds used' 'structure of the field' etc...they just pick the crop. Firing them and getting a new wave of them doesn't change your fields.
  2. Hehe, Its worse then you all think. Fanboi's are wrong. Several Producers have hung up there hats in the last couple weeks, and then they had a layoff already nuking a lot of contractors, etc....Now they are losing CSR's and QA folks, as well as some dev's, and the next chop which will happen in about 2 months, will be a big gut into the dev staff. SWTOR is losing subs and this is the standard EA method of trying to recover stock numbers, which never works, but they enjoy doing big purges none the less. I give SWTOR 6 months and it will be running in admin mode with a skeleton crew keeping it afloat, just like WAR.
  3. *snore* And this is why you shouldn't care about PvP in a PvE game. Enjoy it for what it is. PvP is for PvP games, PvP in a PvE game, is a side line time waster, nothing more. And all the blind folks who are going to say something about "SWTOR was advertised as a PvP game..." I want to just explain to you how wrong you are. No game is a PvP game if it only runs 2 factions. WAR tried and failed, 2 factions = PvE, its really that simple. No world PvP? Right, PvE game. PvP treated more as an eSport then as part of the game? Right, PvE game. Believe what you want, but this is a PvE game, enjoy it.
  4. 1.2 has vote kicking. As of 1.2, valor will have no impact on gear. Reality check, as long as people pay money for gold/credits, people will see them, as long as people buy accounts, people will farm them and sell them. Allow the death penalty for anyone buying gold/accounts and you resolve the problem. Sadly, that law would never pass.
  5. Well, first BM gear will be easier to get because it will just be purchasable with Warzone tokens, and they are putting in a 'starter gear set' that can be purchased with cash, that is going to be on par with Champion gear. Mix that with the fact they are removing Valor from having any impact on gear, and will be mostly an ego stat to give you some titles, unlockables like speeders, etc. For the rated WZ's, it has only said that you will earn new commendations called Rated WZ Commendations, which will be used to purchase the new War Hero Set, which does not require any specific rating to wear, just collect the commendations form the Rated WZ's. WZ token earning is a bit more even now as well across the board as only 4 medals will give bonus valor/tokens, so victory will be worth more then farming now. Medals are now only going to be for the daily and weekly (as those will be changed). The whole random bag system will be gone as well.
  6. And your source of level 58 mods that don't come in either Rakata or BM gear? hrm?
  7. Well, actually doing the math, for example, BH suit...if you compared the damage + expertise bonus for BM vs the Rakata Set, you do 3.95% more damage. So two guys in full BM cancel each other out, damage bonus to damage soaked, but the Rakata guy does 3.95% more damage over that absorb so in fact in every and all ways, it does more damage.
  8. That was because it was automated. No one had to figure out you were a healer, it simply marked you for casting heals by reading the log. That is a lot different then someone figuring out you are a healer and then marking you. I mean we just yell out 'Bob is a healer MURDER HIM NOW' in vent....whats the difference? oh right...None. Making pugs less epic fail with a mark is not the worst thing to happen in this game by a LONG shot, Move along.
  9. people say it reduces survivability, but not really, Rakata will give you over 2k HP (depending on class and suit) then the BM version. If Rakata is doing more damage then the BM WITH Expertise, than it will overcoming the defense easier and thus having more HP is more valuable then damage reduction. So assuming you pull 15% damage reduction off full BM... And I hit you with 1000 damage, you only take 150 less damage. Sooo you have a total of 15000 HP. So out of 15 hits you reduce about 2k worth of damage...So Rakata offers equal protection as an end result, but having more health makes you easier to heal then using damage reduction so more health wins all around.
  10. Oh, and this is a rumor, it would be nice if we had logs to verify..... But it seems that being stunned while at full resolve is mostly a 50 thing.... The reason why? That Resolve says 'you are 100% immune'....But Accuracy is over 100% at 50....and the thought it that Accuracy is actually allowing stuns by pass resolve. This is assumed to be a bug? Anyone hear anything like this or do further testing on this subject?
  11. My fav is standing there stunned, which puts me at full resolve and by the time I'm done being stunned in resolve, my resolve meter is already 1/2 empty, and in 5 more seconds its empty and I'm chain stunned again.
  12. really? I leveled by PvP and I'm down right filthy rich with all my skills trained, all my vehicles bought. I focused on doing storyline quests and companion quests around the 20-25 range and the 40-45 ranges because i was in full suits of top of the line gear given to me form PvP.
  13. Translation: Save your CC break for once you are dead.
  14. haters going to hate. Whiners going to whine. SWTOR players never going to be happy.

    Speedhacking

So it was your ranting on the forums, not the bug report that was sent in that took them time to track down the problem and resolve, that caused a resolution eh? *chuckles*
  16. One of the long term testers I knew, he ran each healer class to max in beta. His statement was first 'there is no reason to not play a Sorc', the other was after walking into end game about a month before release 'I quit, this game is a joke, I'm duo'ing 50 HM Flashpoints.'
  17. haha Merc's are easy mode. They hit insanely hard at max range and can assure a target is dead before over heating while banging 1 button. I love my Commando Trooper for that With my PT BH had that much out put for that heat usage.
  18. My only problem with Sorc's honestly is there Force. Its fine that they have plenty of tricks, its fine they do good damage and do good healing, its fine they have good CC, etc. The problem is that they can do it endlessly. You never have to watch your Force as a sorc, while, for example, a Lethality Op is out of power in about two rotations. If I could pin a sorc/sage into a corner with my BH and actually eventually beat on it long enough to run it out of force, that would be great, but alas, I have actually, for giggles, beat on a sage for 5min, never dropped bellow 1/2 power and could heal thru 7-9k combo bursts, etc and interrupts didn't have much impact on his ability to be immune. He just stood there and rotated thru his spells endlessly and still had time to attack me while I would over heat as soon as I didn't get a perfect railshot combo going, which double wammied because he then could spike heal since I wasn't keeping his health down at all.
  19. Learn to DPS like everyone else and give up on your silly dream to get more then 3 medals for your complete waste of time of healing. Give up on dreams of tactical game play or victory outside of a speed dash huttball team, stop dreaming of actual PvP or logical rewards for such things. You are living in a fantasy world where you think that some how anyone cares about PvP or what you or any of us actually think about PvP. The dream of playing a game for PvP is founded in the idea that the only way it could be successful is if that game was designed from the ground up for it. enjoy your 3 medals while you buck the system that has been stacked to tell you 'STOP HEALING!!!! WE WILL NERF YOU AGAIN IF YOU KEEP IT UP!' and just learn biochem like everyone else and respec to dps.
  20. Completed the Ilum weekly once, and the daily like 3 times, the rest of Valor rank 60 from BG's. Almost full Rakata because twice a week we put 2-3 hours in on the Operations. My guild and I have been PvPing for the last 10 years as a guild. I'm not to stressed what your opinion is on the subject, I know how to wreck you AND have 'best in slot' gear to be most effective. So cheer up buddy, some people are just better than you.
  21. You are so cute, all angry, with your blind faith in BW thinking they 'couldn't screw up this one'. *pinches your cheek* now you go be a good boy and stand in line and get rolled like the rest of the sheeple Oh, when this becomes an FPS instead of an MMO, I'll worry about your 'skill' beating my spread sheet
  22. My Calculations were based on the variable between Bounty Hunter sets, I didn't have time to number crunch all the classes, but its on my plate to do, working on writing a spread sheet that will contain all pieces of 50 Tier gear for PvP and PvE so play around with creating the best Hybrid. BH sets were giving me over 2k more HP on average. My Calc's are actually formulated from crunching each set piece by piece and using the math of Jedi Lace.
  23. Actually in a rated BG, HP is greater because healers have more room to work, it is harder to burst down more HP and since PvE gear will burst better then PvP gear and over comes that mitigation by, as I mentioned, 3.94% more damage vs the same mitigation then the PvP set, the PvP gear will be doubly negatively impacted and healers will have less room to work to keep up there allies. But we will see you in those rated BG's and see how your full BM set fairs against full PvE or as I mentioned, the 'best of both worlds' with a Hybrid set. I'll take 1k+ more HP over 4% mitigation.
  24. Well, as a tank, I hope you are not gearing for tank stats in PvP. Another lovely thing to note is based on how they threat armor, defense and shield, they are next to useless in PvP. only about 10-20% of incoming damage is effected by these stats. Elemental and Internal damage ignores it all, Crits ignore it all, most people have combo's that allow them to reach near 100% armor pen. The only thing that matters are 'absolute' defenses, these are basically the bonuses you get from pop'ing cool downs. This is actually why the Assassin/Shadow is the best 'tank' in PvP since they are a cool down class, they don't rely on armor etc. Juggy's are nice for there mobility in the land of Huttball and some good cool downs as well. Powertech's trying to tank in PvP are completely borked though, as they are a tank type that requires heavy reliance on heavy armor and shields to keep going and use few significant cool downs.
  25. http://sithwarrior.com/forums/Forum-Game-Mechanics For your number crunching fun. The end result here though is that Expertise is so flawed that it doesn't even work as intended. Expertise as it currently stands, has diminishing returns. As such the more points of expertise you have, the more useless Expertise point values are. Attributes on the other hand do not suffer from Diminishing returns. The result is as follows. If you add up all the stats and bonuses from full Rakata gear vs Battlemaster gear. Rakata will do 3.94% more damage then a full suit of BM (taking into account the bonus from Expertise) and the Rakata suit will have over 2k more HP. With some tweaking, I have made my gear is more effective by using PvP gun, off hand, ear, implants and relics while using full Rakata armor, and the result is maximum effectiveness of gear. You have enough expertise to not be seriously impacted by by diminishing returns, and the maximum amount of value out of attributes. So the goal of Expertise and gear being available via PvP is actually kinda a joke because to be in the best gear, you still need to be a raider as they will beat a pvper at there own game.
